Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A pleasant and convenient place to stay While on a trip to visit family in Bowling Green, we found our usual hotel choice booked and were forced to look elsewhere for a place to stay. My husband is a smoker, so it's not easy to find accommodations. Not only did the Candlewood Suites have a smoking room available, they were able to book us a suite, which was very nice. The room did not smell like the usual smoking room. It was clean, welcoming and cool in the hot southern summer. The kitchenette was well appointed with enough cutlery, dishes and cookware to allow us to make a visit to the local grocery store and be well-set up for the week. While we didn't buy anything there, the honor system cupboard mini store off the lobby seemed to have a good supply of basics and snacks for travelers without the time or inclination to go shopping. The internet is adequate if not amazing, and the staff is very polite. The location is good: Freeway close and near the main highway that allows for finding restaurants, starbucks, and markets, etc. We'll definitely be back. September 3, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by VERY NICE This is a very nice place to stay. We spent 4 nights there and enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms were excellent, the staff was nice and the hot tub was great! There are two small negative's that I found. First, MapQuest will get you lost. Use a paper map or something to find the place. It is not hard to find, unless you use MapQuest. Second, you need to move the smoking area away from the main entrance. August 11, 2014

There are a couple of good restaurants nearby, so there is no need to travel far for a good meal. We were very happy with the spacious and lit parking lot too! Overall, our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. July 24, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, comfortable, quiet with great service The Candlewood Suites in Bowling Green is a great hotel for the price. This was my first experience with an extended stay hotel and I loved it. The hotel was conveniently located (within a 20 minute drive) near many dining options, the local area attractions (caves and Corvettes for my family) and the local grocery and convenience stores. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable, the staff were friendly and polite and the pool and outdoor cooking area (yes, they have grills available for their guests to use) were a total bonus. This hotel offers DVDs, books and all cooking utensils to their guests free of charge (they even have a crock pot you can use). We got the 1 queen, 1 bedroom suite which had a queen sized bed in the bedroom, a separate living room with a couch that made into a bed, a nice kitchenette with a full sized fridge, microwave stove top, coffee pot and microwave. This room was spacious clean and cool when we arrived, which we did 2 hours early and had no problems with an early check-in. All in all, if you are traveling with 2 adults and 1 or 2 children this is a great hotel for you. July 22, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Summer outing with grandkids A bit disappointed in our stay at Candlewood Suites in Bowling Green KY. The rooms were clean and the front desk staff friendly. There was only weekly maid service and you had to replace your towels by going to the front desk. I do not want to make beds and clean bathroom while on vacation. Grandkids enjoyed the pool and the Candlewood cupboard for snacks etc.The rollaway was totally uncomfortable and could not be used. Also the Queen beds were a bit squeaky and the pillows were too small. We do not plan to stay at Candlewood Suites in the future . July 20, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Checking into this hotel was a nightmare! After a 10 hour drive we were more than ready to check in! Delighted we were getting an upgrade for being IHG Club members. Room card did not work, returned to front desk and card was redone. Once again returned to room to find out it was occupied. Returned to front desk, attendant told us she did not appreciated being "yelled at". We did not yell, swear or raise our voices, but were clearly irritated. She indicated this is "not my fault". She told us the records showed we were already checked in. We got another room assignment, no upgrade this time! The episode was surely not our fault, and could not have been handled more poorly by the front desk individual. July 16, 2014
