Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No reservation upon arrival My wife called for reservations on 9/15/2014, reservation# 64981358. The reservation was for September 20th. She was told by Jarin that you were fully booked for that date, but she took the information and said to call back on Tuesday or Wednesday September 17th or 18th to see if there were any cancellations. Jarin offered a smoking room which we could not accept due to my COPD. When my husband called on Tuesday September 17th and talked to Jarin she said there had been a cancellation and that we had a first floor room, next to the pool (this is what we requested when we called for the reservation). Upon arrival at 1am (we did make it very clear that we would be arriving late), we discovered that there were no vacancies on the 1st floor and the only vacancy was on the 4th floor in smoking. Room #433 was DIRTY, the floor of the bathtub was dirty, this was a suite, there was no bedding for the hide-a-bed, the hair dryer in the bathroom kept shutting off, the shower curtain bracket was very loose, a Symbacort breathing treatment for my with so she could breath properly to sleep. I am disappointed with the method of notification of shutting down one of the four hot water heaters. Appreciate your concern for the safety of your guests, but I would have preferred a notice prior to opening the door to our room and finding the notice on the floor. We have stayed at Polaris/Candlewood almost since you have been there. Our reason for staying is to visit our son in Columbus. I have always told everyone that we stay at Candlewood/Polaris when we visit Columbus because we have always been satisfied with the facility and the service. We go back years with Polaris/Candlewood and because of the service and facility at our recent visit, our last stay may very well be OUR LAST STAY! We were comp'd for the room. We would rather have stayed at Candlewood and paid for the room which would have been at your normal standards - clean room, nice facility and good service. September 28, 2014
