Rated 5,0 out of 5,0 by Fantastic stay Booking was easy and efficient. Clear info on how to use public transport from the airport. The hotel is about 10 mins from Hamburg on the bus. Rooms were clean, comfortable and prepared. The reception staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly - and spoke excellent English! They were happy to help with directions and recommendations for where to eat. The pool was great (if a touch over chlorinated) and open till late. The kids loved the view of the port and railway, especially at night. The double glazing was efficient enough not to let in any of the noise from outside. The food in the bar was great, and lots of it! Again the staff in the restaurants were very friendly and helpful, and happy to accommodate our group and several children. I would happily recommend the hotel and would like to thank you for a great stay. Recommend the amazing Miniatur Wunterland and the nearby aquarium and zoo - super easy to reach by u-bahn. Also the superb steaks and atmospheric/service at the Schiffer Borse restaurant near the hauptbahnhoff. 27. Oktober 2013

Rated 5,0 out of 5,0 by Sehr zufrieden Zimmer werden demnächst renoviert, sind aber bis auf den alten Fernseher in einem guten Zustand. Sehr netter Check-In, bis auf 1 Mitarbeiter haben immer alle ein Lächeln im Gesicht gehabt und man fühlte sich stets willkommen. Ausstattung der Zimmer ist super, man hat mit etwas Glück auch einen wunderschönen Hafenblick. Bushaltestelle ist 2-3 Minuten entfernt und bringt einen in etwa 10 Minuten zum Hauptbahnhof. 19. Rated 2,0 out of 5,0 Charge for Internet Stayed at this Holiday Inn in early August and my cd cd was billed accordingly in September. For October a charge for Internet, telephone and postage was added. I contested this with guest services because now internet services are offered free at IHG hotels. Guest relations confirmed this, but claimed these charges were for the Kultur tax of the city of Hamburg. This tax, however, was already included in our original bill. Guest services was VERY disagreeable, demanding me to prove this charge. Got fed up with their antics and talked to my credit chard company. A very negative experience for several weeks and based on this I do not recommend this hotel. 6. Oktober 2013
Rated 2,0 out of 5,0 by Ich war enttäuscht ich bin sehr enttäuscht vom Service gegenüber Membership Kunden mit Platium Status. Jedes mal beim einschecken in diesem Hotel ist der Schalter für Priority Club Mitglieder nicht geöffnet. Wartezeit dann ca. 30 Minuten. Außerdem darf es nicht sein, dass Mitglieder die jede Woche in das Hotel einchecken kein Priority Zimmer zur Verfügung steht, sondern ein Zimmer bekommen was renovierungsbedürftig ist. 22. Rated 3,0 out of 5,0 by Mixed feelings! No welcome of any sort at check-in. We were given an upgrade from a normal room to a junior suite due to my Platinum membership status. Thank you for that! Our room, and the hotel in general was very clean. Staff members varied from very friendly to somewhat indifferent. We booked a dinner bed and breakfast rate to spoil ourselves. However, the deal delivered certainly spoiled our experience and we would NOT recommend such a package to anyone. Breakfast was nice but, if not on an expense account, certainly not worth the money asked. The swimming pool and sauna were welcoming and clean. A chatty person, one of the massive complaints from the many other guests I spoke with was having no air conditioning in their room and being required to pay extra to upgrade to a room which had it. I would never accept such a demand from any hotel. There is a good breakfast cafe and bar very closeby for those not wishing to pay expensive hotel prices. You can find free 24/7 all week long street parking within minutes from the hotel too. This hotel is a bit out of the way for anything unless you have a car or rely on a taxis. Should I return, I would be very careful about the value of the rate I opted for. 5. September 2013
Rated 2,0 out of 5,0 by A hotel not to come back to! As an experienced traveller, few hotels in the world have left me with such a sour taste in my mouth as this one! The webpage isn't at all welcoming and it gives no indication whatsoever how one can get to the hotel using public transportation! Upon check-in I was 'welcomed' with a very blazé attitude from the constantly overwhelmed receptionist - there were other hundreds for her to check in! - and above all with the refusal of granting me an upgrade for I was a 'mere' (sic) basic preferred guest! Or should I say unpreferred? The room was small and had a distinctive bad smell, probably from a previous smoking guest. but it had no air-conditioner and the windows wouldn't open full. Complaining on the phone with that same receptionist, I was demanded to pay extra in order to change into a better-equipped room! Housekeeing showed up and could witness my state of drowning in my own sweat, only after 5 minutes in the room, and kindly offered a fan to solve the problem! But neither reception nor management cared to see into the situation and simply disregarded my well-being! Furniture in the room was old and cracky, one could easily peel off the varnish with no major effort. The sink and tap were also full of cracks and hot water took always ages to come out! The complete absence of amenities is also remarkably unacceptable for an alleged four-star hotel! The hotel is located really in the middle of nowhere, though in a quiet area not far from the core of the city! Like other chains, transport cards could be offered to guests staying 3 nights or longer, for there is absolutely no facility around the hotel area! Breakfast was the sole highlight of the stay: varied, neat and proper! Despite the attractive price (and some reasons for it are listed above!), do considering adding some extra euros to your budget and choosing another hotel elsewhere in the city, for this one isn't at all worth the saving of a couple of pennys - a mistake made and never to be repeated! 26. Rated 1,0 out of 5,0 by Very uncomfortable experience My stay was very uncomfortable from the time I arrived at the hotel. Long que to wait for your turn to check after a long flight. The room I got was without aircon( maybe a norm in Germany but was not informed in advance). So after all the tiring check have to change room by paying extra to get ventilation. Same night tv not working and couldn't be fixed have to wait for the next morning. Second night a sharp sound started coming from aircon which after calling reception got fixed as they knew about the issue and can reset from their computer but unfortunately the sound came thrice in one night at 0015, 0345 and 0530. Each and every time needs to call the reception to get it reset . If hotel was aware of this issue than why it couldn't be solved permanently at the first place. This whole night couldn't sleep for a single hour. At the end the compensation for a sleepless night was offered I.e. 10% reduction in room rate which was pathetic as well. Any other hotel would have come up with a much better offer to compensate a while sleepless night at the hotel due to hotels issue. Few more small issues but not enough time and space. If hotel is really bothered than can contact me and I will fully explain . 24. August 2013

Rated 3,0 out of 5,0 by Enttäuschung Ich habe telefonisch im Hotel 3 Doppelzimmer bestellt und davon 2 mit Doppelbett und eines mit Einzelbetten. Beim Einchecken wurden alle 6 Person je nach Bettenwunsch in die entsprechenden Zimmer verteilt. Doch die Enttäuschung war groß, als wir feststellten, alle Zimmer waren mit Einzelbetten. Nach einer Rücksprache mit der Rezeption bekam ich die Auskunft, ein Doppelbett sei nur ein Wunsch, den das Hotel nach Möglichkeit erfüllt. Weder bei der Buchung noch beim Einchecken wurde ich darauf aufmerksam gemacht. Nach dieser Enttäuschung fielen natürlich auch die anderen Mängel ins Auge. Das Personal im Frühstüksraum grüßte sogut wie garnicht, Hilfsberetischaft Fehlanzeige. 3 gleich teuer Zimmer eines mit einem niedrigeren Standart (kein Schminkspiegel, kein Bügeleisen, nur Standardwaschartikel...), in einem Zimmer war die Klimaanlage sehr laut und der Radio funktionierte nicht. Nach einer Reklamation an der Rezeption natürlich große Entschuldigung, aber behoben wurde nichts. Ebenso große Entschuldigung bei der Abreise. Leider hilft eine Entschuldigung nichts wenn die Bereitschaft zur Nachbesserung fehlt. 8. August 2013

Rated 3,0 out of 5,0 by Hochsommer in Hamburg Es ist schön, wenn es endlich Sommer ist, keine Frage, insbesonders nach dem letzten Winter und dem nicht vorhandenen Frühling. Aber der Besuch des Fitness-Centers im Hotel an den Elbbrücken war für mich und sicherlich die anderen Nutzer ebenfalls eine Zumutung, in negativer Form. Dass die Sonne fast den ganzen Tag auf die Scheiben des Centers "schmettert" kann nicht verhindert werden. Aber dass praktisch keinerlei Sonnenschutz an den Scheiben vorhanden ist, da die Rollos vollständig defekt sind und auch von ihrer Machart eigentlich nicht hilfreich sind, das ist für ein 4 Sterne Hotel sehr schwach. Im Center waren gefühlte 100 Grad und auf den Bildschirmen der Laufbänder war absolut nichts mehr zu erkennen, vermutlich "ausgebrannt". Es bleibt wirklich kein guter Eindruck zurück. However, Holiday Inn recommended and booked me wrong rooms from the onset. Then chose to over charge me for my room. Having to sleep on a sofa bed wasn't comforting, relaxing or indeed helping to recharge my lost spirits. :( 16. Juli 2013

Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Excellent stay with a special view at the harbour of Hamburg My handicapped daughter and me spent three nights in a comfortable room in the 11th floor with a super view to the harbour. The overall service was really good. Wether the quality of food (breakfast as well as the restaurant in the evening) or the kindness of the hotel staff - all was excellent. Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Nice place Came to this hotel from the south. 'twas easy to find, swift service at check in/out. Wifi as I understand it only works on two devices. My wife "accidently" logged in with both her iPhone and Ipad so the son and I had no Wifi :-( We went down to the reception and they helped us with a smile on their lips. We got a new voucher for the duration of our stay. Turned out it only worked out the first day. Another visit to the reception and an new voucher. Same thing happened again. The free-wifi simply isn't very good. Therefore we didn't bother with buying any "premium" wifi or whatever they called it. Besides that we liked the hotel. It is easy to get into the city center and back with bus (which had fast Wifi !). Nice swimmingpool with a view of the harbour of Hamburg. A bit crowded breakfast room around 9.30 a.m. Might be better at other times. We'd had preferred to have lids on the food (i.e. to aviod dry and too crispy bacon and scrambled eggs.) Over all a nice breakfast and friendly staff. Parking in a garage under the hotel for 10 euro/24 hours. 12. Juli 2013

Die Zimmer sind freundlich und sauber. Wir hatten den 40. Hochzeitstag. Vom Hotel bekamen wir eine Flasche Sekt und einen Obstteller. Wir haben uns über diese Aufmerksamkeit sehr gefreut. Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Having used the hotel for more then 2 years I have used the Holiday Inn at Elbbrucken the last couple of years. I normally stay at this hotel 30 to 40 nights every year. I have been very pleased before but during the last 1 to 2 months I have noticed a very dramatic change into something that almost makes me change directly into another hotel. In the last 2 months I have stayed at the hotel more then 20 night. I have recieved rooms for smokers, the thiings in the executive rooms are not replaced and so on... It appears that the hotel policy have changed or it is a direct neglectance of me as a Platinum Card holder. I get confused but sometimes corrections are done afterwards but it does not help with the feeling that it cause. As I said initially I have been very pleased before. I used before a different hotel chain and selected Holiday Inn at Elbrucken as there is a possibily to wark in a green area without cars and it is also close to the water. I will try it some more night and based upon what happens I will select if I stay with Holiday Inn further on. Selecting a grading now would not give proper values as it will be unnecessary low just now. I therefore give indications how it was before which is probably not correct any more. 22. Mai 2013

Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Good hotel in convenient location, outside of downtown area This is a good hotel in a reasonably convenient location although outside the downtown area of Hamburg. I appreciated the excellent service received from the staff, along with the good quality of food & beverages. Breakfast selections on the buffet were also quite good, including many healthy choice options like fruit and nuts, with large a variety of more traditional items. Also enjoyed the swimming pool, sauna and fitness center. The only downside if there is one, is that there is not much to do in the immediate area right outside the hotel, however it is situated reasonably close to bus stops and taxi stand, so this was not a problem. I would most likely stay here again next time in Hamburg. 1. Mai 2013
Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Der Ausblick machts Das Hotel liegt zentrumsnah bei den Elbbrücken. Erhält man ein Zimmer in den oberen Etagen, so hat man in alle Richtungen einen tollen Ausblick auf die City inkl. Hafen. Die Zimmer sind komfortabel und sauber. Das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet. Als Priority Mitglied kann man im etwas ruhigeren separaten Frühstücksraum speisen - angenehm! Obwohl an einer Stadtautobahn gelegen, ist ungestörtes Schlafen kein Problem. Sehr gute Schallisolierung - habe da nie Probleme. Für Bahnreisende empfehle ich das Taxi ab Hauptbahnhof - Kosten ca. 10 €. Mit Bus ist es etwas umständlich, gerade für Ortsfremde. Mit der S-Bahn ist die Anreise kaum möglich, da die Station zu weit entfernt. Mit dem Auto braucht man ein gutes Navi. Das Haus ist ideal für Gäste, die in der City zu tun haben und den tollen Ausblick auf den Hafen genießen wollen. 8. April 2013

Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Comfortable rooms for good relaxing Pro: the double rooms had high quality, everything was clean and comfortable. Only the TV screen size was quite small. But stuff was very friendly. Nice pool. Cons: the breakfast area was too small for the lot of people, so the feeling with was like in a train station. Food and beverage was very tasty, but sometimes turned out. We had to sit in a separate room, so coffea and cacoa for the children came late. 6. April 2013
