Overall, I have become disillusioned with the Holiday Inn brand hotels and plan on upgrading my stays in the future with another chain whenever possible. However, I I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Hope Mills, NC and found it to be updated and comfortable.

My family and I had two rooms next to each other on the first floor an they were both very damp and musty. Maybe the upper floors or other parts of the hotel were better but ours were terrible. Rooms 162 and 164.
Rooms were clean but dated a bit and the doors to the hallway had a big gap at the bottom and you could see right out to the hallway. I did not care for that.
Bottom of the door inside one bathroom was coming apart and spitting.
Breakfast buffet in the restaurant was pretty good.
Key card access from the outside was very temperamental.

Not being the only guest to have reviewed your hotel poorly I think the owner, manager and staff should look at the reviews of their hotel. Pride in your hotel and bringing up guest reviews should be a priority.

Please recommend that this property puts in an automatic door at the main entrance. It is always cumbersome trying to carry luggage, laptop and other articles and then set them down and open the door. You then have to hold the door with your foot, gather your belongings, take three steps, set them down AGAIN, grab the inner door, hold it with your foot AGAIN, gather your belongings AGAIN and then walk into the lobby. The other issue I have with this property is the internet service. I almost always stay close to the lobby and the service is less then acceptable at best. At times I have to use my cell phone's HOT SPOT for service. Very frustrating in this day and age.

We love it there,but the only thing I notice is the air in the hallways and sometimes in the room.They are working on it I was told and then it will pefect.The Dining and lounge is great along with really nice waitresses.
