We called 1-800-holiday to reschedule our motel stay to this motel around 3 pm. We arrived at the motel around 9 pm to find out they could not find our reservation and they were unsure at first if they had a room for us. When we finally got a room our door key would not work in our room door and would not work in the outer motel doors. This happened to us four times. We had a room on the sixth floor and one of us stood by the room door with our possessions while the other one went down to the front desk to have the keys revamped. After the last time we just got tired of it and went to a different motel for the last night of our trip.

Thanks to the hotel staff for providing an upgrade to our room on our 29th wedding anniversary. I know the hotel was near full due to Asheville's Bele Chere celebration that weekend.

There were three coffee set-ups for regular coffee. Even though free lobby coffee was advertised, I asked for decaf once and the woman behind the desk said, "Isn't there a package in your room?" She did not offer to brew a pot for the lobby. There was not tea present as an alternative either.
The smoking rooms are supposed to be on the sixth floor, but each time we entered our fourth floor room we smelled smoke.
Usually as a Rewards Club Member, we are given a small welcoming package of some kind of snacks and water. We stayed three nights. Each time we approached the desk, we could see the packages of snacks under the cooler behind the desk and were never offered a package. When we checked into the hotel, we had had the desk check to be sure our rewards number was entered

The price of this hotel was okay until we added our one grandson who is 12 yrs. old. Then the price went up a whole lot!!
We asked for a roll-away bed in the room, but it was not there. The beds were doubles, not queens, so my husband and I slept in one bed and we are used to a king-sized bed!! It was very uncomfortable. Nothing special about our room; and the pool closed early so we weren't able to swim, which is the reason that we chose a hotel with a pool. (another hotel pool was open to 11:00.!)
The woman at the front desk asked what we were in town for, and I said The Biltmore. She said, "its pronounced Belleshare." !!!!
Later we realized there was a festival in town by that name; but my Grandson said....."don't they know what the Biltmore is?

We had a great experience at this hotel. The lobby is gorgeous and extremely inviting. Our room was really nice, with comfy beds and free Showtime! We didn't enjoy our dining experience all that much, but we definitely recommend this hotel!

Updated hotel with very comfortable beds. Close to Asheville with inexpensive taxi ride. First time we stayed here and would come back. We just prefer a littke closer to downtown. Like all hotels...you never knOw when you might have a wild and noisy neighbor so grateful for updated flat screen tv.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Asheville Biltmore West on our way back home and loved the place. The staff was wonderful and the place was clean. The lobby did smell of chlorine, but there was a pool in the "atrium"

This was my first visit to this particular location. The front desk staff up on check-in was absolutely the best I've ever met - thorough, helpful and very friendly. My reservations were exactly as booked for two rooms and they were even able to accomodate the connecting room request. The facility was clean and well maintained with a variety of gathering places including a comfortable lobby, bar, pool and restaurant area. Outdoors were well lit. The only issue regarding our stay was with our waiter for breakfast. The adults had the breakfast buffet while the kids ordered from the kids menu. Because the kids breakfasts were not delivered even 10 minutes after ordering, one of my children had a piece of bacon off my plate - for which our waiter quickly came over and told me he would have to charge me full price for them for the buffet. After a brief discussion questioning the logic of this - no kids breakfast versus one piece of bacon, the waiter never returned to our table. In fact, another staff member, much friendlier, delivered the kids breakfast a full15 minutes after ordering.
Other than that minor issue with one wait staff member, I have absolutely no concerns or issues with our stay!

The location of the hotel,guest services, dining and housekeeping are great at this location. The only problem was the noise level in the hall ways was not monitored, teens were allowed to run and yell on the first floor, the game room had no "open and closed" hours and our room was near this and the noise was unbearable,
and due to the hotel being full they couldn't do anything as far as a room transfer. My thoughts were to just monitor the kids running up and down the hall way after 10 o'clock and perhaps close the game room at 11 o'clock. But that did not happen.

The pool is partly inside the lobby and partly outside, which is pretty cool except that the odor of chlorine fills the lobby along with the humid air.
Stepping off the elevator for our room, we were hit with heavy smell of cigarettes. Quite a surprise since most hotels are non-smoking. Turns out the 6th floor is 1/2 smoking rooms; ours wasn't and the room was fine, but the hallway stinks.
Everything else was great.

We checked in on the 3rd of July, greeted by a woman who doesn't know how to smile and wasn't wearing a name tag. When we asked about the possibility of staying an additonal night she said she couldn't make any promises, but would put us at the top of the list if there were any cancellations. When we checked in to our rooms, there was no area guide, hotel information binder, or room service menu. When we asked about these at the front desk, the same rude woman said, "those are in your room". You can see where this is going. I waited until she was gone to ask a different attendant a question about the restaurant; we'd like to celebrate my husband's birthday on Friday morning before we check out, can you tell us anything about the restaurant? They're not open until dinner, I was told, although they were packed the next morning serving a breakfast buffet to loads of guests, including Priority Club Members, which I am, although it was never acknowledged, even after I visited the desk, again, and gave them my number. The coup de gras? Was the fact that we asked, one last time, on Thursday night before our checkout, if they'd had any cancellations and we could spend another night, Friday, especially since we now know the restaurant is open, despite what we were told. The third, different attendant said that yes, there had been some cancellations, but we weren't eligilble for them, even after we'd been told we were at the top of the list. This young man said there is no list, we would have called you if that were the case, and you would have been at the top of the list if you were a Priority Club Member...so frustrating. Never again. And I'm not even sure I got the points I paid for. The pool is awesome, though. I would stay there again, just for my kids, but would never recommend it to anyone else.

Upon arrival the front desk staff was confused and stressed to the max due to a large group arriving. Did not welcome us as a returning guest (i.e. stayed at this location in January and March 2013) or priority member; did not furnish water or snack to our two rooms; made it very difficult to allow first floor rooms (one was finally allowed) after requesting or insisting....said all rooms were taken on the first floor while the room next to the room assigned stayed vacant during our stay. We will return again in July but reserved another property that welcomed our business as return business travelers to your city.

When we came in, I used an employee discount. Prior to coming in, I called to make sure of our arrival confirmation and employee rate. They would keep hanging up on me or would transfer me to housekeeping. At one point, they transferred me to the person in the restaurant in the hotel. They kept doing this. When I arrived, I was supposed to talk to a lady. I asked the lady at the front desk who had short black hair and white glasses if she was there and they said yes. I stood there waiting for her to go get her. I then asked if I could talk to her, and they said no that she was busy. They seemed irritated that I gave them the card and they had to fix the price for me. Not only did it seem like I was an inconvenience, but they made it known to there people there that they were, also. The sheets were way to big for the bed. Every time I would move, the sheet would come off the bed. The carpet was outdated. Needed a good shampooing or just tearing it up and putting a new one down.

We came using a state government rate. He told us this Holiday Inn did not accept them after we showed our state ID. I said I had checked beforehand and did not find that anywhere on the website. He continued to argue the point, at which time I asked if he would like us to go somewhere else. He said, sarcastically," Did I say that.?" I went to the website again that night and found where one can choose state government rate for this hotel AGAIN! He was insulting. We have never been treated that way EVER at any hotel or motel. There are a lot of places to stay in Asheville. We will never choose this one again.

We chose this hotel because it was easily accessed off I-40. I had read reviews so I decided to call ahead and get some info especially regarding whether or not the pool was operational. The woman who answered the phone was very short with me and told me I could find all the information on the website. I informed her that I was looking at the website at that very moment but it said the pool was closed. She told me it was open and hung up the phone. We stayed anyway because of it's proximity to our destination. The hotel is very old, dingy, and the staff we came in contact with were not welcoming, friendly, or courteous. There was no recognition of priority club membership and certainly no benefits. The room was okay except that we had to tie back one side of the tv cabinet with some string to keep it open. We chose to leave early the next morning and eat breakfast on the road as opposed to the hotel. If we had been staying more than one night we'd have went elsewhere.

We got to the hotel & several things were out of service; elevator, ice dispenser, & pool. Also, we were suppose to receive free breakfast coupons for the wedding party which we were included in & only half of them got the coupons. They proceeded to the desk to ask for their free breakfast coupons & the people at the desk made a BIG stink about the coupons. The breakfast buffet was only $8.00 & I didn't see what the big deal was!! Also they told them if they booked after a certain date they didn't receive the coupons but we missed the deadline too & we received the coupons..I think they should of made an exception due there was a huge party of us.

Before checking into the hotel we found out the pools (indoor and outdoor) were not working. We were told in the call to come to the check in and they would be able to tell us whether the pool would be corrected. Since we were meeting many relatives for a stay during a wedding, we did go. After arriving we were told that they had fixed the pools (The hotel has indoor and outdoor.). After checking into 3 rooms for family (staying 3days) our grandchildren went downstairs and found out the indoor pool worked but nothing else. I could continue on about how disappointed we were about this hotel. My main issue is that this hotel wasn't honest at check in which should not ever happen. We did leave in two days rather staying the full 3 we originally intended.
I have been a club member for at least 25 years and was not happy with this hotel stay.

At first glance the lobby was beautiful, but on second look, furniture was shabby and outdated. The carpets in the common areas, especially the fifth floor were very dirty. Our mattress sagged in the middle and the sheets did not fit properly so that they pulled away everytime we moved. On our second day, we were out by 10am until 5pm and our room was not cleaned! We advised staff of all the above and weren't even offered to be moved to a clean room with a decent mattress. We were going to stay for a third night, but changed our minds.

Pulling into front of the facility was a preview of what was to come.
The grounds were neat and orderly,the plantings were well tended and the entryway was immaculate.
I would recommend this facility to my family and friends. I would rate the experience as "2 thumbs up"!!!
