Thanks for making this a very enjoyable stay. We were greeted by welcoming and friendly staff. The room was excellent. Breakfast was of a really good standard.
There was a hugely significant improvement in customer care since the last time I visited this hotel, several months ago. All of the staff were helpful and friendly, which is one of the most important things for me.

I often choose to stay here as it is only 10 minutes drive to Bristol city centre. The hotel is easy to find and get to and very comfortable.
I only realised there was a leisure centre after i got there as this was highlighted in the booking. So unfortunately i did not take my kit. This feature should be better displayed.
On arrival the booking in was very quick and smoothe. The staff were all very helpful. There was a complementary hot drink and cookies, something you dont get at more expensive hotels!
There is also free secure parking.
I rate this hotel very highly.

Stayed there on business, found all the staff helpful, considerate and friendly. Food was good, only gripe is that my room was very small, hardly room to walk around the bed.

We were given our rooms next door to each other as requested but we were not told that there was a function going on in the hotel which would cause noise disruption. We had chosen this hotel as it was near to a venue where our daughters were competing in a trampoline competition early the next day. We were alarmed to hear loud music banging from the venue at about 9.30pm and by 11pm our kids were still awake. I decided to go to reception to ask when the music would stop and was told 1 am.... i explained my concerns and the receptionist couldn't have been more helpful. We were straight away moved to other bigger rooms free from the noise and our girls were able to sleep. The hotel staff were very apologetic and i even received a call when i returned home once again apologizing for our inconvenience. I am more than happy with the way it was dealt with and if ever i am in the area again wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel .

I had a really comfortable stay this time. The purpose of my trip dictates that I have to breakfast very early at the weekend. The breakfast staff are really friendly and helpful. There is a lady who waits on breakfast who is German and I thnk is called Inga. She is particularly helpful, polite and always of a cheerful disposition no matter how early the hour, she manages to personalise the service, which is not something you necessarily expect in a 'chain' hotel. Well done.

Easy to find, close access to the M32, M5 and M4. Sainsburys, and eating places just down the road. Food was good, geniuous portions and when presented. The best bath ever - the water was hot and did not run out. The room was very clean and comfortable.
The only draw back was the cost of the drinks at the bar and the length of time to be served.

First time staying in a Holiday Inn, what can I say. Excellent Excellent Excellent. Only booked for 1 night wish it could have been more, The food, accommodation and staff were on par with some 5 star hotels I have stayed in. If you are a little apprehensive about booking dont be, I can assure you there will be no complaints and you will definitely be booking again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Not quite perfect, but not bad at all.
In general, the facilities and service were good, and good value. However a few things made our stay less than perfect:
1. the children's playground equipment was covered in moss and bird-poo, making it unsafe. This was a shame for us having chosen holiday inn partly because they have a playground.
2. The sofabed in our room was broken (missing some springs, making it very uneven/unstable/uncomfortable). We asked for it to be replaced with a rollaway bed, but this was not done.
3. The internet access is very overpriced. (we paid 30 pounds for 3 days). There should at least be free internet in the lobby for those who are on a tight budget.

We decided to do some after-Christmas shopping in the sales, and so booked two rooms at this hotel.
On the first night we ate in the bar/restaurant and were amazed at the high standard and quality of the food. The presentation was awesome, and portions incredibly generous.
We visited the pool area, (son and girlfriend had a long, leisurely swim) and sat comfortably in the seating area.
On the second evening we had a problem with the sink in our bathroom, and having reported it, we were immediately moved to another room, ably assisted by housekeepers and porters. We then had a knock on the door, and were presented with a bottle of wine and two glasses, for our inconvenience. How lovely.
The hotel is very clean, spacious and welcoming.
The General Manager and her staff were really helpful and made sure we were well looked after.
Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Claire123 Family trip over christmas period
My two children and I stayed in the hotel for 5 nights. We used the swimming pool which was the warmest pool I'd ever experienced. We ate dinner in the restaurant that was posh and wonderful to eat with good pleasant staff. My son used the lobby area to watch football matches with no problem and I felt I did not have to worry although he was 15 years old. We had our christmas lunch at the hotel on christmas day that was very well organised and a very good meal with a large second course; every course was lovely and a member of staff could see that my daughters turkey needed more gravy and he got her a jug which I thought was brilliant service. We usually stay in the Holiday Inn Bristol Express but I would stay at the Filton again for the pool at least. For 3 people the room space and all beds were very comfortable and a great cost for early booking.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Happy first time experience
We booked at this Holiday Inn for a Saturday night, being guests at a wedding not too far away. Although near M32, our room was quiet and peaceful overlooking gardens and a lake.
Had a swim, Saturday tea time and Sunday morning which was enjoyable. The pool is not huge but we had no problems getting a few lengths in. Breakfast in the morning was fine and overall experience was very good and great value.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RichieMcK Holiday Inn Bristol experience
This is the second time I have stayed here and as usual the Holiday Inn experience is much as I expect, familiar surroundings, nice facilities and a relaxing experience.
The room and the fitness suite were all to my liking with only one slight on this trip.
One of our party requested a booking at the in house restaurant Sampans and on arrival we were told this wasn't made, fortunately we were still seated but then for some reason it took from 7.30 - 10:00 to get our meal finished, with at least an hour before we ate at all. Luckily the food was exquisite and made up for this, but this made us feel very unwelcome.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Jaee Comfortable room but service left wanting
Having stayed at this hotel on many occasions the service has always been excellent. However on my recent visit the staff on reception appeared short tempered and inpatient. I was also disappointed to experience a a lack of waiter service in the lounge and waited ten minutes before giving up on an evening meal and instead ordered room service. The menu in the restaurtant did lack variety and menu on room service was more apealing.
Disappointed on my recent stay especially given the higher room rates in the local area. Next time I will seek other options.
I am a priority card member and did not feel any extended welcome or service, unlike other priority club membership hotels which I have used in more recent times.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by VirtualLight Holiday In heating problems
I understand that it is important to control energy use, but why do so many Holiday Inn hotels in the UK switch of air-con leaving only heating on in the rooms.
Our room was too hot throughout the night, even opening the window didn't help much. Being able to cool the room would have helped no end.

All staff helpful and attentive. Room was comfortable and clean to usual Holiday Inn standards. Facilities were more than adequate for our requirements. A very enjoyable week-end. My only criticism is if I want to phone the hotel, I have to do so on a premium rate phone number.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by paul13 good clean room and lovely view over the lake
we always stay here when we visit bristol & bath, our first impression is turning into car park and seeing the nice rural aspect. Check in is simple and efficient and welcoming. A good clean and well appointed room, the bed could be larger, it is if you upgrade, we sometimes do this if possible.Breakfast is fantastic what more could you ask for.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by steph12 Let down by Reception and Cleaning Staff
I found that the restaurant staff and the food were both excellent. The restaurant staff were polite and friendly and even the chef in the morning was welcoming.
However, the experience was marred by the reception staff who appear to be under the impression that being rude equals being efficient. It doesn't - it equals rude.
The cleaning staff were unhelpful. On my way back from breakfast, I tried to explain to the cleaner that I had extended my check out until 12.30, however she still knocked once on the door and barged in without waiting for a reply - luckily I was dressed! I was also suprised at the amount of noise and banging that was made for over an hour outside my door - I got the impression that she was not pleased that i had an extended check-out.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Phil19 Comfertable stay but not good food
I have stayed at this hotel twice now. The staff are very friendly and have been treated well at reception while doing buiness in Bristol. The leisure centre's gym is quite small and quite dated.
Not sure why there was a put up bed made up in my room, but it was OK.
The downside was dinner. This is the 1st time I have eaten here and will probably give it a miss when I stay again. The starter should have come with toasted sour bread. There were 2 small pieces of french bread. I asked why and was told they would send the toasted bread. One piece arrived with no butter. Having finished my drink when the main course arrived, I was not asked if I wanted another drink. The staff seemed rushed. I would have assumed that they would take something off the bill, but when it came, it had a 10% discret. service charge added. I took it off. Not a good experiece.

We chose to stay at this hotel for 2 nights as we were part of an event held there on our second day, and we had other work in Bristol on the first day.
We benefited from an 'early bird' deal and by the end of our stay we wished we could have stayed an extra night.
The room was clean and comfortable. It was great to have the option of a bath as well as a shower. And I enjoyed the spa facilities at the end of a long day. I really appreciated that the spa stayed open until 9pm and also the friendly welcome I received when I arrived at nearly 8pm.
During the event the staff were fabulous and all went smoothly.
Only thing I would mention: the directions shown on the email are a bit vauge once you come off the M32. We were glad of our sat-nav.
The hotel was cheerfully busy & the whole team have got the balance right.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by scdean A nice hotel
The Holiday Inn at Filton is a good hotel for a short break or business meeting, it offers good value for money. While near a busy dual carriageway it is far enough back to be quiet at all times. Access to the centre of Bristol is easy due to its proximity to the M32.
Room was clean, spacious and modern. My only complaint was that the bed was on the very firm side (which is to some peoples taste).
Included breakfast offered a reasonable variety and was of sufficient quality. Restaurant food was reasonably priced and of good quality. Worth noting that although they are open to 11pm the last new service is 10pm.
This is the second time I have stayed in this hotel in the last 6 months and on both occasions service was good and the above held true.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cinnabar Good reward night stay
We stayed on a reward night in order to visit relations in the area. It was a last minute booking so we were pleased to find our room needs could be accommodated. We found the hotel staff pleasant and helpful, the rooms we booked were clean and next door to each other as requested. Rooms were well equipped and warm.
We opted for room service rather than eating in the restaurant as we'd had a long day. While the menu is a little limited, the food we had was of a good standard and arrived at our room reasonably quickly.
We used reward points for the stay, if we'd needed to book without using points the hotel rate was over the odds for the area hence only 3/5 value for money.
Overall this is a good out of town hotel for a short stay when the rates are good.
