My first time in ChengDu on a business trip from the USA. The hotel is very convenient to the IBM site here in ChengDu. The room was nice. I came from the US and do not speak the local Chinese language. There was a little bit of confusion when I first arrived. I came to the West Tower instead of the East Tower. The staff was super friendly, helpful and professional. The welcome fruit plate was nice. I had a comfortable stay -- very quiet and relaxing after the long day at work. The bed and pillows are nice, clean and soft.
The experience overall was good, although one would think that a business travel room rate would include some sort of complementary breakfast similar to The Intercontinental Hotel that I always stay in Dalian (CN). The room rates are the same.
Definitely will stay here again if and when I return to China.

Very bad management. Every time you need 20 minutes check in and out.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by FSFRA Non-smoking does not mean NON-smoking in China...
This was my 6th stay at an IHG hotel in China. Without fail at every stay I received a non-smoking room that reeked of smoke from the previous guest(s).
Walking down the corridor of a non-smoking floor, you can smell smoke coming out of rooms designated non-smoking. I even saw a housekeeper pass an ashtray to a guest in a non-smoking room.
Perhaps IHG in China should implement a penalty policy like in some countries where if you are found smoking in a non-smoking room you are charged a high $$$ fee for cleaning of the room.
Or - perhaps just don't offer non-smoking rooms as it's a farce anyways!

This hotel location is excellent if you are catchng a plane the next day as it is only 20-30mins away from the airport by taxi. But you have to plan to check out early not only because the surrounding is under construction and certain road is closed, BUT THE WHOLE HOTEL ONLY HAVE ONE STAFF in the morning at the front desk to check you out!!! I have to queue with the rest for 30 mins and almost missed my flight just because there is no one else at the front desk to check you out. No luck if you are Platium member or staying at the executive floor because the 2 staff I met at the lounge could not check you out. They told me they do not have the capacity to do so. The management should seriously look at how they deploy their staff when 1 staff is working hard to speed up the check out at the front desk at level 1 and 2 staff are on the computer doing nothing at the executive lounge.
