Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Gremlin66 Winter long weekend break
Comfortable good size clean room but old style décor and fittings (Japanese style from PostHouse days (no doubt on a refurbishment plan). Staff friendly and helpful. Disappointing availability of restaurant food but hotel very empty (long weekend stay), but bar food choice much better. Good pool and gym well up to hotel standards. Very accessible by road and frequent bus service to Chester (and Wrexham) from just outside the hotel - parking difficult and expensive in the town.

Enjoyable stay at this hotel with good access, quiet room and big enough for 2 adults and 2 children (4 months old and 2 and a half years old)

I enjoy staying at the Holiday Inn - it always has great customer service and is very convenient to my office.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SebC Good sport facilities for a Holiday Inn
Sport facilities are astonishing with the pool and the gym. Rooms are standard.
Staff was excellent.
2 areas need progress:
- Internet vouchers had to be obtained from reception on a daily basis
- Value for money of the breakfast is not good

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dutch30 Great room and excellent service
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel (last year there was four of us this year there was six of us) and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had table service this year which was 100 times better than queuing up for our food as we did last year. The table service staff where second to none, they where brilliant.
The music and celebrations after the meal, again where brilliant. Thanks to all the staff.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by David E. Good hotel but restaurant a gamble
My wife and I stayed 2 nights at the end of December. Hotel generally of the standard one wster or Wrexham on the bus and leave the car at hotel.
The 'problem' we encountered was that we dined in the hotel on the first night and the menu offering was incomplete as some items had sold out (possibly the day before) but the dishes we chose were very tasty. We had intended to eat in Chester on night 2 but I ws a little unwell so we returned to the hotel early and booked a table for dinner.
The menu offering was even further reduced and there must have been a different chef as neither the presentation nor the quality of food compared to what we had eaten previously; to be fair, when I brought it to the attention of 'Mark' he deducted a starter

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Kerry2532 Comfortable room as ever!
I stayed for 1 night over the Christmas period. I have stayed many times this past year and have always in the past found it to be very hospitable and a great place to stay.
I asked for a 2pm check out which was made available without any fuss unfortunately I felt unable to stay as the noise in the corridors during this visit was very loud. People running up and down and I couldn't get back to sleep therefore I checked out by 9.30 which I was very disappointed about. I told the receptionist who apologised but did no further to assist with this issue.
She then proceeded to charge me for breakfast which I didn't have and I had to tell her on several occasions that I didn't and asked her to check with the breakfast staff - she found out it had been a mistake.
I was disappointed with the service, on this one occasion, I have never been before.
Its still a great hotel, comfortable and usually great service.
