Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by WaNairobi Hotel is deteriorating
I stayed at the hotel from 10 Aug 2014 checked out 12 Aug 2014 and returned on the night of 13 Aug 2014. Check in process was very slow - key card system seemed to have a problem. Front office staff need to manage the area and manage interruptions from other guests when they are in the process of handling a check in (we were rudely interrupted by a guest wanting to use the front office phone to call China - the front office staff did not handle it well). There was no hot water in the shower the entire time. Room service got my order wrong despite having reconfirmed it over the phone. Reception area ceiling near dining entrance has serious water damage and leaks. Rest rooms adjacent to reception area are unpleasant to say the least!! Extractors don't work and drains need a good dose of odour eater. Roof Top lounge is thankfully still quite a pleasant place.

Efficient check inn and a real nice bed to sleep in. Quite good insulation from street noise. Very good kitchen in this hotel, both at dinner and breakfast. I will be back at my next stay.

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Wasn't impressed at all with my room, but restaurant and the service there was quite good.

A great place to stay in Tanzanian. Rooms are neat and tidy. A variety of restaurants to tingle your taste buds.
Staff are friendly and wear a smile.
You feel you are being taken care of away from home.

Your entire staff insisted on speaking in English. I think if the guest is more comfortable using the Swahili language then you should accommodate that. I was talking to one front desk staff one afternoon I think it was June 3rd around 2pm and she literary told me to speak in English instead of responding to my question. I mean if she understood Swahili its a good customer service to respond to your guests other than requiring the guest to speak a certain language.
Also a little smile wouldn't kill your staff, it goes along way making your guests return to stay at your hotel...I kind find that some of the staff had a little attitude but again that was my first experience at a holiday inn in Tanzania I am used to the ones in America and Europe where they go above and beyond to make the guest comfortable.
The day I checked in around 3am on July 3rd the manager who checked me inn was really good and even though he put me in a twin bed room his customer service skills were excellent that made me okay with the twin bedroom but other than him the rest of the staff I had contact with at the front desk could use a refresher course in customer service.

This is a great hotel in Dar-es-Salaam - beautifully appointed and well managed with a team who are warm, welcoming and hugely friendly. Was a great way to end a good stay in Tanzania.

Except for the noisy air conditioner, my overall stay was comfortable. I enjoyed good food at the roof top restaurant - mixed grill was very delicious. Staffs were friendly and, important for any businessman, internet speed was very good. Location of hotel is very convenient.
