An enjoyable stay which was good value and relaxing. The service was excellent from the start, throughout our stay and when leaving. Breakfast had everything that we required, fresh and well prepared. Our evening meals were enjoyable and of a good standard. We used the swimming pool and the information we were given was very informative. Our room was comfortable, warm clean and we were happy with everything made available to us.

Poor comfort in the bedrooms and the public rooms somehow are uncomfortable, cold or too hot(both in the bedrooms and public areas due to air ducts at head hight rather than radiators which seem to work far more efficiently)) and not particularly conducive to relaxing.
Most times I stay the business lounge has been commandeered by some impromptu "double glazing" team meeting and trying to have a private business meeting in the main public lounge does not work because it is too open and offers little comfort.
The quality of the breakfasts has definitely been downgraded. For a solo traveller £10 is over the top for what's on offer and for example a Morrisons all you need for £5 seems more appealing.
Good staff though except it always takes an age to get served at the bar!

Behind the industrial exterior of this hotel lies a very comfortable hotel, with friendly staff and good restaurant and bar. It is a great stopping place if you are travelling around the North East of England.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Arty Bookworm Comfortable spacious room and great service
My wife and I stayed at the hotel for a two night short break to visit the Richmond area. We were delighted with our room and bathroom and the beds were comfortable.
Although Scotch Corner is incredibly busy with heavy goods traffic and the hotel is directly on the roundabout there was not any discernible noise in the public areas and in our room.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and we really liked the food in the bar. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Business Stayer Multi Overall Disappointed
Just gained Platinum - didn't get an upgrade which is understandable but a disappointment - worse still I was given a room at the end of a long corridor with the smallest windows I have ever ever had in any hotel I have ever stayed in. The only benefit was it showed less of the poor view over the kitchen. If Platinum members are given preferential rooms (if not upgrades) then I can't see how that worked on this occasion - I checked and there were still rooms available that evening when I checked in.

The service was great.
Only detail which the greeting letter missed was the url address to setup the wifi. I had to call the front desk and figure it out.
Would have been easier if it was explained in the greeting letter
