Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent hotel Stayed one night as a rewards night. Very efficient and courteous front desk staff. The hotel was clean, comfortable, good facilities and the room was huge. Only snag was it took an awfully long time to get a starbuck's coffee late morning, nobody around then the waitress didn't know what an Americano was and had to get help, she was new in the role though! No free WiFi on the XXI century and also no free breakfast. Room was OK but it is dissappointing after seeing the reception and restaurant areas. June 30, 2014

Thought I would upgrade from usual chain hotel as a birthday treat to myself and arrived to find what I thought was a full-price room discounted for booking 21 days in advance, did not have breakfast included. Was then informed no free Wi-Fi at all. Informed it would be available wef 1.7.14 - not much help on 24th June. Fortunately room was clean and comfortable with effective air-con. June 30, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient for motorway and southampton The first impression of our room was it needed the carpet cleaned, marks on it, didnt appear too clean, and one of the walls could have used a coat of paint. However, overall, the room was OK and was suitable to our purposes. We wanted a reasonably priced room for our stay and thats what we got. Just make sure you take your own pillows! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable hotel but poor breakfast service Two out of the three breakfasts were really really poor. Breakfast on the Sunday was awful. There were queues to be seated, there wasn't any hot food, there were no plates and I was told at 09:10 that there were no scrambled eggs - not what I expect from a holiday Inn. In fact, while my wife and I were in the queue for hot food, our table was cleared and re-laid ready for the next guest! We ordered poached eggs which took an age to arrive and then one of them wasn't cooked properly. This is a really nice example of a Holiday Inn Hotel it's such a shame it was let down by a the worst breakfast service I've had at a Holiday Inn. June 20, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Fantastic for kids, very helpful staff We stayed for three nights as we had two days at Paultons park/peppa pig world. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful, we were able to check in early as our room was ready. Our room was clean and comfortable and reception were happy to organise the table and chair to be removed from our room to make more space as we had a double room with sofa bed for my 4 year old and travel cot for our youngest. Extra pillows requested no problem. Children eat free as long as adults are eating off the menu and the childrens buffet on Friday and Saturday evening was great! Only one comment that it could be served earlier than 5.30pm as the kids are usually ravenous by 5.30pm! Fruit juice and sweeties available for the children in reception and the offer of pre booking a packed lunch for kids and adults. Warm mIlk and cookies for the kids available from the bar at night no problem. The breakfast buffet in the morning also fab especially the pancake machine which went down very well with my son! Every little detail has been thought of for the children which made our stay more enjoyable and relaxing well done!! Can't praise you enough Thank you I have recommended you to our friends. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One night of comfort This our first time in Holiday Inn , very pleasantly surprised.The reception area was pleasant and welcoming and also the staff . The room was spacious, comfortable and clean ,The bed was comfortable and clean. The tea making facilities were good and staff were approachable when requiring further supplies . Although we did not use the dining area or bar it looked clean comfortable, we were advised by the staff availability of services . We shall definitely use the Holiday Inn again June 9, 2014

I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness of our room and the quantity, variety and quality of the breakfast. The one drawback was no free internet access, even in communal areas, when all it was needed for was a couple of minutes to find directions. However, reception were happy to find and print off what we needed so no harm done. June 7, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Near Excellent choice! It was a near excellent choice for a stay for us with 3 young kids. Staff were friendly (excellent) and best kids activity bag that we have received in any hotel (kept the kids busy for a good few hours and included a helium balloon). Beds/rooms (we had two adjoining rooms) were great and A/C was quiet and could be used overnight without getting to dry - so again excellent. Even if the hotel is by a busy road our rooms were quiet and entering the lobby, the hotel felt fresh and bright. And the manager wanted feedback if we did not deem the hotel a 5 star for everything - so very good customer service - well done! We did not try the pool but will probably return and try next time. However a big downside was the breakfast. The taste of the food was reasonable (could be better), but it was poor value for money. It was initially offered at approx £15 per adult when booking through the central IHG booking system (kids ate free). I said that I would not be paying £30 for my wife and I for breakfast even if the kids go free (ie we are just subsiding this so not really free) but they were honest and told me we could get it for approx. £10 when we checked-in to the hotel (I guess better that they drop the price a little and get that income rather than lose it). In terms of us - a family of 5- it would probably cost us around £20 to eat at a breakfast diner so no real saving if kids are meant to be eating free and also less value for those with only one or two kids). However, in my view, even for £10 - even though we decided to take it up- it was not worth the price value for money, only Ok quality, and little choice etc - and coffee was awful (albeit with our own coffee maker at home we have become slight coffee snobs but their morning coffee was really not that nice) . I assume the overall pricing is a corporate decision and not down to the manager -who seems to want to ensure that the hotel offers a good value and service to its customers - but maybe he could change the coffee type. But as I said overall a near excellent stay - staff, kid friendliness, beds, rooms and a manager seemingly focussed on customer care. June 7, 2014

Ordered from the bar menu, food arrived in a timely manner and was very nice. Bar was busy. Enjoyed a good sleep followed by breakfast (too much to choose from). I will return June 6, 2014

Were told last year that this was likely to be made available very soon but arrived to find £12 per day just for WIFI. .Outcome being that next time we will stay elsewhere. Look at it this way, the WIFI cost would have represented 16% of the actual Room cost - now how does that work?? May 31, 2014

The only consistent failing is the WiFi service, which is reliable but very slow (to the point of not being worth using). Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cold breakfast The dinner and wine were excellent but the cooked breakfast was cold, cold, cold (but looked good). The ?steam? underneath the buffet counter may not have been turned on We had difficulty getting our car out of the space where it was parked about three spaces along from the main hotel door. A dirty great truck was unloading into a side door next to the main door and was parked across the back of our car and several others. The driver moved the truck when asked but not the happiest thing when we had a plane to catch. It would be sensible either to move the delivery door somewhere else, or to make the places near it "no parking" or to fix deliveries later in the day and not at peak get away time. May 12, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing stay! I have stayed in this hotel on 03/05/2014 with my Husband and 2year old Daughter.I had made this reservation through Paulton parks short breaks. During my stay I was very disappointed with the service they offered which I would like it to bring all your attention. After checking in at reception at around 6.00pm when we went to the room(room no-234) we realised room was very hot and i put the air-con on and set the temperature at 16.c with Fanspeed on high.But we couldn't feel any cold air coming through vent.So we thought of leaving the Air-con on to see if it makes any difference and we went to the Bar to have some drinks and dinner.On our return from the bar at around 9.30pm the room was still boiling hot and my daughter was finding it very difficult to sleep.So I called the front desk expecting they could help me and I told the receptionist that air con is not working and its very hot in the room.On that reception staff told me to keep the window open of my room as its cold outside now. This is not what i was expecting from holiday inn reception staff. How could they ask me to leave my window open and sleep when I have my little girl sleeping in the same room. Basically they dont bother about your safety at all. Honestly I didn't choose this hotel to keep my window open and sleep. My husband called the reception at 11.30pm and asked them if they could provide any fan as our air con is not working at all.So one of the reception staff brought the fan up and we asked him to come inside and showed him that there is no cool air coming out of vent and even he agreed that room is very hot.After switching on the fan we realised that Fan is not rotating and is faulty and cant be used for all of us.So we decided to put it facing towards our daughter's cot bed and with great difficulty we managed to get couple of hours sleep. After all I would like to mention that the Bar staff was excellent and that is the only good thing we experienced. May 6, 2014

Smooth check-in - appreciated the recognition for Platinum Elite status (upgrade & drink :-) Not the most modern room but very clean, comfortable and big TV. Was able to relax and settle in quickly. Great shower. Made use of the Spirit Health Club gym which was well appointed. Decent ambience and selection in bar. Lovely supper except unpleasant focaccia to start - but quickly forgiven as friendly staff apologised, took off bill and rest of meal was high quality. Standard breakfast buffet - slightly disappointed in the quality of sausages and non-functional pancake machine. Again breakfast staff (like all in hotel) were very attentive and helpful. Recommend as best hotel in Eastleigh area. May 2, 2014
