As a platinum IHG rewards member, I was contacted in advance and offered a room upgrade -which was a first for me. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location is close to restaurants, shopping and the airport. A great central location to stay in Edmonton. August 26, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by a hesitant no for recommendation As a platinum member I am frequently upgraded, so I am a little spoiled, but I was a little disappointed in the standard room I got, it was dated, dim and a little sad. I stay at a lot of the newer holiday inn expresses, but stayed here on points because it used less of my points. For the extra 5,000 a night, I probably should have stayed at a newer nicer express down the road. My status was not recognized at all, it was a personal trip, holiday inns are usually pretty consistent, our room was below par. It didn't look particularly clean either. We faced the tracks, had a small window in one corner. I put yes at first for recommendation, as it is a little cheaper than the expresses, but unless you're short of cash it probably isn't worth it, based on the room I had, so I changed it to a no. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A surprise charge Marketing fee .Staff Friendly/Room quite A surprise charge of Marketing fee ( although it is only a few dollars ) on the invoice. , why not include in the room fee and make it simple. The staffs are friendly and fast. Sound proof is good in room, although we stay in 2nd floor, we do not hear any sound from outside. Location is easy to found. August 20, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Too bad about the AC The hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly, the food was good but with the AC not working the 200 guests at the wedding were uncomfortable for over three hours. Management was notified but unable to fix the problem. No compensation was offered. August 20, 2014
