Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable, relaxed stay Our stay was following a hospital procedure, before our 2 hour journey home the following day. We needed peace and quiet, calm, comfort, relaxing environment, attention where necessary, no hassle and decent on site catering. Apart from a very slight delay in clarifying our bill on departure we had all of those things and were totally happy with our stay. November 24, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by disappointed Used this hotel before with no problems. On arrival the car park was so full that we got the last space which was a long walk from the reception. (Aged customers) Arrived at 1430. Room either not ready or at least the staff were not aware. Waited like prunes in reception until a solution was found. Heating in the room was off and when switched on behaved erratically. Asked for a heater and it was promised immediately. It never arrived and after 90 mins. a further phone call established that it had been delivered to another room that was apparently empty. Always liked Holiday Inn as a brand. What is happening? Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, met expectations. Just the little things that let it down Good: Very clean room, warm, safe, everything you'd want it to be. Breakfast was first class and would highly recommend. Staff were very helpful, apologetic is something wasn't right, and would do their best to help if asked. Bad: Car parking is abysmal - just not enough spaces for guests and the spaces are small even when you don't have a big car. Check in queue was long, and with only two staff on at peak time was diappointing. The area doesn't lend itself to lots of people queuing for long periods as it is right between the bar area and the dining area (and not helped by a huge post right in the middle). Was given a twin room, but this wasn't made clear at check in. Not really an issue but would have been nice to know beforehand. The pillow that had "firm" strapped to it never was, or has been firm (on either bed). NO FREE WIFI!!!!! - Come on Holiday Inn, please! In this day and age....! November 23, 2015
