Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday inn ... The front desk was very helpful apron check in they gave us cookies cause they were under going construction . The construction was a complete bummer. The Hot tub could us a deep clean scrub and so could have the pool but was still nice that they had them open for the use. The room we were in the shower didn't drain and the shower heads could be different . Beds and pillows were nice could be a little bigger but not a complete let down. But the refrigerator they brought up was un believe nasty and gross I will never use it . May 17, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by renovations in progress the building was under much need renovations. Our room, though non smoking, smelled of stale smoke when we first arrived. the curtains were torn in the room and the entrance door by our room in poor repair. We were at a conference in the hotel and the wait staff were great! May 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Entire Stay All went well as expected. Accorded late checkout. Hotel was undergoing renovation at time of stay. All effort possible was made to keep inconvenience to a minimum. April 28, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Lots of room for improvement and Customer Service I would not recommend this location unless it is the last one available for the date you are in need of a place to stay. The rooms no only are OLD looking and feeling but the room was very dusty. It was very clear no one had used a dust cloth on the TV stand and cabinet which it sat. The bed felt like I was laying in a canoe. Oh, the should floor felt the same way. Bathroom sink had a major stained and was overall very CHEAP feeling. This facility lacks everything called quality. Fortunately we were there for an event that kept us out of our room for the duration of the room stay. Our first encounter was the room door was not locked/shut when we arrived to our room. No key needed here!!. After unpacking, another couple opened the door and said they were assigned to our room. So the front desk just says have them come back down, with all their luggage and they would work things out. The front desk staff needs major customer service training. April 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff Under renovations, but great staff , quiet rooms, and great restaurant/bar food, drink and service made up for it. April 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Coffee to go I have stayed at this property before and will again. On my way out the door in the morning, I decided to get a cup of coffee. I was appalled to have to pay $1.50 for that cup. This is the only hotel I have ever stayed at to charge for coffee in the morning. Most pots are by the front door and are FREE. April 3, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very bad Holiday Inn . We stay here every year for my husbands PASEO conference and each year it gets worse. The meal that is served for all that attend is very bad . This year it was COLD told Hostess and she said to me nothing could be done about it for it was Buffet style. We left there the next day and traveled to Fl. with a stop in Va. and stayed at a great Holiday Inn ( which was less then our SPECIAL RATE for conference) had a Huge room with Ref. ,Microwave,Sink, two queen beds, pull out couch, table & chairs and Comp. Breakfast. Your Holiday Inn has lot to learn. Tell your manager to travel around and check out what a real Hotel looks like. March 10, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT STAY HERE THE FRONT DESK GAVE ME A PRIORITY CLUB GIFT BAG WITH A HALF EATEN PIECE OF CANDY! THERE WAS MILDEW ON THE BATHROOM CEILING OF ROOM 302! March 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Follow up to previous review I recently wrote a review about two stops at this property and the poor service that we received at the front desk. In response to that review, I was contacted by the GM. He called and left a message and I, in turn, called back and left a message thanking him. He continued to try and reach me and when we finally connected, he was as appropriate, kind, and interested in our experience as he could be. His motivation, in my opinion, was two-fold. He wanted to offer his apology and he wanted to have enough information to correct the issues on his end, so that no one else had a similarly bad experience. His kindness and sincerity toward me and about his mission toward the highest in quality service has opened the door for us to try this hotel again. March 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice room The hotel was empty and the Manager on Duty made a special effort to come over to ask us if we had any concerns. The following morning, the daytime manager also made an appearence. I will return. Don't forget to be a prority member February 27, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Front desk service - terrible! We stayed at this property once last month, then tried to stay a second time, unsuccessfully. We are Platinum Priority members and we were traveling through this area, so we did not have an advance reservation and we did not have our Priority club card with us. Upon check-in, the staff assured us that they would look up our number and assign it to our stay. Upon check-out, it was not done and yet a second person assured us that they would take care of it. A week later, with no points assigned, I called and spoke with the front desk manager who apologized profusely and assured us yet again that she would take care of it and she never did. About 10 days ago, we were traveling this way again and gave this hotel another shot. We had our Priority card in hand and went to desk after just checking on line to see that was a King room was available. The manager and two other staff were completely confused and unhelpful. After at least 10 minutes of fumbling with their computers and radios, they said that the Kings must have been taken out for maintenance issues and that was that. There was no offer to make another room work for our needs. We then, literally, sat in front of them on our laptop for about 30 minutes, trying to find other nearby accommodations. They did not offer help, they did not acknowledge our presence, and they simply went about chit chatting amongst themselves. We have stayed at hundreds of Holiday Inn properties and this was one of our two worst experiences with customer service. Our overall impression was that they really do not care about Priority membership, in particular, or customer service, in general. Thankfully, we went down the road to a sister property and received excellent service, a complimentary upgrade, and a significantly better rate. February 26, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Harrisburg (Hershey Area) I-81 Holiday Inn Review Excellent hotel in every respect! Staff are pleasant and courteous, hotel and rooms are clean, service was excellent and the hotel is in a nice location close to the I-81. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, however, this did not impact negatively on our stay in any way whatsoever and the ongoing renovations appear to be managed exceptionally well. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and I will stay there again when travelling on the I-81. February 18, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by not the best The staff is not firendly although the person working the last time I satyed was very helpful The rooms need major upgrading. Its like thay have an I dont care attitude. To bad because most of the hotels I stay at are very nice. February 14, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Renovations at the hotel detract from comfort Specifically, a lot of disruptive maintenance going on. No Internet service from room was available. Rooms were difficult to find. January 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Construction :( There was construction going on in the hotel during our stay but it really didn't get in the way to our suprise. Casino van should of had longer hours to accomidate the guests. Food was really good in the bar/restaruant, we dined there twice. Our servers both nights were great!! January 15, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Stay was EHH! I was at the hotel for a wedding. The lobby was under construction and there was no other place offered for guests to mingle. Our room key did not work, the toilet overflowed (and though those things were fixed) it put a damper on the night. At the wedding, the cocktail hour was in the hallway where anyone was able to walk over and enjoy it with guests from the wedding. The bartender wasn't very good, told guests she was only serving them 2 drinks. She also didn't seem to know what she was doing...hardly any alcohol in the drinks at all. The reception itself was very nice. The staff (aside from the female bartender) were efficient and helpful. I feel very bad for the bride and groom, having spent all that money and having to hear about all the issues the following morning. I would not throw a party their for myself or anyone in my family. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyed my stay From check in to check out, it was a nice experience all around. The room was clean and comfortable and I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere in the bar. Wait staff was prompt and courteous, food was good. Looking forward to my next stay at this location. December 17, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Remodeling I know remodeling is being performed and it is long overdue November 25, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Diappointing Stay This stay was very disappointing. I stay at Holiday Inn quite often for work and leisure. This was, perhaps, the worst experience I have had at a Holiday Inn. Our room was near the ice maker and was incredibly loud. The room was not clean. The hallways smelled bad. The food in the restaurant was mediocre and the restaurant smelled so much like sterno that we were hardly able to eat. November 23, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst hotel ever! Everything that everyone else has said on this webpage, ditto. Outside door was open, no key necessary. However, I needed a key to get to the pool. No towels or soap given at clean up. Water was brown at one point in the stay, bed blankets were dirty, elevators were discusting and sticky, and the overall building was filthy. I realize that they are remodeling, but that wasn't really the problem. Our club 3 soccer teams, good kids who wanted to play Monoploy, and the manager would not let them go into an open banquet room and play the game on the floor. No lobby because of the remodel. The kids were as good as gold this weekend, but very disappointed to not be able to "play" together. It was the worst experience for all of us. I hope everyone reads this and something is resolved. It's a shame to ruin the long standing of Holiday Inn. Not worth my money for two nights at all. November 19, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Banquet planning and execution The Pennsylvania Hillclimb Association held its 2012 annual awards banquet at the Holiday Inn Harrisburt Hershey. It is our 3rd or 4th year. Although we all agreed that service in the past has been very good, discussion during our business meeting early that afternoon included seeking another possible venue. After the banquet, I received nothing but rave reviews from those in attendance along with requests to book once again for the 2013 banquet. Compliments ranged from the "best food ever at a banquet" (we had the Italian Buffet), to a service staff par excellence, a very professional and personable bartender, and the sale rep on site, Lauren, was noticed by many as she appeared during set up, during the meal and during the awards, making small adjustments and immediately responding our requests for last minute changes. The entire staff performed most professionally and our members were clearly impressed. November 19, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Does not conform to Holiday INN brand standards The first room I was assigned had stains all over the floor, visible bugs, a torn chair, and a foul odor. In hindsight I should have stayed elsewhere but I’ve always had good experience by ICH branded hotels. I went to the front desk to request a room change and, although it was obvious that there were many vacant room the staff acted like my request was a major inconvenience. Because of the staff attitude I pointed out that I was a platinum priority club member and in accordance with the program I was entitled to an automatic upgrade to the better rooms in the property. The staff then acknowledged that I was correct and that they were previously aware of my priority club status (they didn’t acknowledge when I checked in as they are supposed to). The staff then assigned me to a new room and stated that it was an upgraded room; it wasn’t until I opened the door that I noticed that the upgrade consisted of a chair that wasn’t torn and no visible bugs crawling around but otherwise it was a standard room. I should also mention that the front desk failed to inform me that the new room didn’t include a made bed. I should say that this review is for a stay from a couple of months ago. But I just noticed that my original review was never posted. November 17, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Disappointing It started poorly, because I found a coupon book with a $25 discount over my rate, and although when I checked in I was given the discount rate, the hotel was disappointing. The room needed a large amount of work, the bathroom was outdated, the AC/heating system was either on high or off, and was overly loud, so we decided to turn off the heat, although it was cool, but also there was no extra blankets in the room. The external renovations provided additional problems, we could not park near a door for entry to our room, and I had just come off of hip surgery, I was not pleased, and would not stay there again. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay and fabulous food!! Stayed here again for conference. Had great time, food was fabulous, experience was excellent. Would recommend to anyone traveling. Hershey Park only 15 minutes away!! YUMM!! November 8, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dated, but generally good - especially for the size of the suite Booked this on a whim because it seemed like a great value and we needed a nice place to break up a 14-hr drive. Indeed, the 'bi-level' suite was huge and generally attractive - essentially two rooms connected by a spiral staircase with the bedroom upstairs and a comfortable living room/bar area downstairs. A full wall window and outside exit were also nice touches and it looked like it would be ideal for an extended stay. It was clean and had all the basics - several very comfortable chairs, an OK couch/sofa sleeper and loveseat, two very large desks, two modern LG flat-panel TVs. One and a half bathrooms (odd: they stocked the downstairs one with shampoo/conditioner as well, even though it was a half...) However, the bed was very soft and my wife complained that it had a pronounced tilt/unevenness on her side. A lot of the furniture was dinged and the wallpaper and ceilings showed a fair bit of age. The bathrooms were clean, but the door frame was rusted through in one spot. The curtains on the 'full' window were split between the top and bottom levels and this was a real problem. Not only did they seem pretty old, but the 'top' set of "blackout" blinds were off their track, requiring us to get maintenance to manually close them so that we weren't kept up all night from the bright streetlight outside. Other major inconveniences included zero WiFi despite advertised ("they're just rolling it out and it doesn't reach many of the rooms"), almost no useable outlets despite tons of desk/endtable space (WHY can't these hotels spring for a basic 'Charging Station' on all desks), odd TV cabinets (the flat-panels were recessed in a cabinet; the opened doors blocked viewing from anything other than the couch or bed directly across), several lights/switches that didn't work and finally, loud and ineffective old central AC/heating. (We cranked the thermostat down and set the fan on High and still were roasting.) Nevertheless, it was decent and could be stellar with just a few basic improvements. November 1, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sad check in experience... I arrived at 3:15 and went to the registration desk, said hello, and said: "I know I am early. Any chance my room is ready." She did not greet me in any fashion but just said, "Check in is at 4:00pm." I told her I knew that, but asked if she would still check to see if the room was ready. She replied that it was not and said to come back at 4:00pm. I sat in the lobby and waited. At 4:15pm, although she saw me sitting there, she did not call me up, so I went up and asked if my room was now ready. She checked and said it was not, and to come back at 5:00pm. So, I went back to my seat in the lobby and sat a bit longer. Eventually, someone else came to the desk, saw me waiting, and asked if I had been helped. She asked if I was wed to the second floor, and I told he I had not requested any specific floor and that any type of room would be fine. She indicated they had plenty of rooms available and checked me in. She also acknowledged me as a Priority Club Member. My feeling was that the first woman cared absololutely nothing about me, my needs, etc.... Fortunately, the delight staff in the lounge made up for her lack of friendliness. I hapen to be the director of an overnight retreat/conference center, and we would never greet any guest with such lack of care of enthusiasm. October 28, 2012
