Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Stay Prior to booking this hotel I was a little nervous because of the bad reviews. But I decided to take my chances and I am very happy that I did. My check in experience with the young lady "Kia" was excellent, she went above and beyond to make sure that my family and I were taken care of she even took some time to play with my kids (they fell in love with her). Restaurant staff (breakfast & dinner) were AMAZING. Chef James took his time and whipped up my family a delicious breakfast even though we came down just 15 minutes prior to closing. We had no issues with our room, very clean however it does need some updating. I had no issues with the internet, I read many reviews saying that the internet was horrible but according to management & my experience the issues seem to have been addressed. I can't say enough nice things about this place, please if you are in the area give them a try. Management has done a great job addressing the past complaints. April 30, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor service From the moment I walked in it was obvious that my patronage was not recognized or even appreciated. From there it got worse. It seems that the Hotel did not have their liquor license for some reason according to one of the staff members. Therefore, the bar was not open but they did have happy hour in the evening. So the first evening I walked down there was an ice bucket filled with beer and wine sitting on the end of the bar. The staff member told me that I could select any two, so I did. About 5 minutes later the bar manager (i assume) came over and asked me what I was doing. She went on to say that happy hour did not start until 30 minutes from now. I pointed to the staff member and explained that she had told me that it was happy hour... Her comeback statement was, "she does not know, she has only worked here for 2 weeks". From that, I concluded that somehow it was still my fault, especially from her attitude. This is the worst treatment I have ever received at any establishment, must less someplace I am supposed to be treated pretty decently considering my committed patronage. I will never go back. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Manager I stayed there for business and the tall manager named Verin too such goo care of me he was so polite and caring. He sat with me and talked with me about the changes that are coming to this hotel.and for that ill be bringing my companies business here,with service like this( which you can not buy) there is no doubt in my mind that we will be making this our home. plus the new chief in the morning for breakfast makes this stay like no other. thank you holiday inn homewood for giving me and my company a new home in the Birmingham area April 20, 2015
