Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed, again. This was a complimentary stay as a result of a disappointing one at the end of September. This property was one of my favourite in Kingston between the years of 2001 and 2005. I was looking forward to returning with my husband as I introduced him to a city that is dear to me. In the fall, the hot tub was closed, the exercise equipment was not up to date, and the pool was dirty. We had a person accidentally clean our room before we had checked out, and when we returned to our room for a nap before a long drive home, she was visibly (and verbally) upset. We wrote management and were offered a return visit so that they could show us better. Unfortunately, this past weekend when my husband returned, the pool was in a similar state, there was even a bandaid in it. Trying to be understanding, he reported this to the staff at the front who said "thanks, I'll let someone know". There was no apology. We choose our hotels with pools intentionally. We pay more for them as it is an important part of the hotel experience for us. We expect them to be swimable. We also expect to feel "at home", not like an intrusion even we return to our room for a nap. Although we keep our rooms fairly tidy, until we have checked out, we consider the room ours. We really hope that the Holiday Inn brand can help turn this hotel around, or might consider thanking their name off of this location. Good luck in the future. We will not be back. April 9, 2015

Beds very comfortable with lovely fresh linens and great pillows.TV great. Heat control perfect. Overall a great stay wish we had had a longer stay in order to enjoy hot tub and pool. April 7, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location and View of Harbor. That's about all. Upon arrival, the front desk staff were excellent for check in. Quick, efficient and friendly. Hotel is conveniently located to the main strip with shops and restaurants all within short walking distance. View from hotel room was very nice. Waterfront. However, the hotel room itself was dated, the carpets were slightly worn and tattered. There were no plug sockets in the bathroom for my curling iron and only one plug socket at the base of a lamp to charge my laptop. The main room ceiling showed evidence of water damage and the bathroom was so tiny and poorly laid out that you could not close the door if you were on the commode, and to take a shower you had to hug the bathroom counter to close the door while your legs brushed the toilet bowl. The walls and ceilings are paper-thin. I could hear all of the foot traffic in the hallways at all hours of the night - other guests walking and talking as if they were standing right beside me in the room. The worst part was hearing the guest above me using the toilet in the dark of night and early morning. I don't need to hear that! Disgusting. At check out, the front desk clerk was quick to take my key and wish me a nice day, but did not ask me about my stay. At that point I just handed my key over and walked out the front door. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT HOTEL This hotel gets better every week. Changes are made but always for the better. Some of the staff have changed positions within the hotel but the friendly service remains. Wednesday evenings they have a Manager's Reception where they have some great snacks and a complimentary beverage. The new manager is putting his touch to the hotel and he is improving things to make it even better. April 4, 2015
