Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place, home away from home.. Stayed here for a wedding party, originally planed to stay a night extended to two. Great place to relax with a great gym, pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. The reception team went out of their way to make the wedding party comfortable and accommodate addition meeting space for the party that had not been pre planned. The breakfast was a feast, the bar was great. We didn't experience dinner or lunch but heard complements from other guests on that score. The rate for the hotel is one of the most reasonable I have ever experienced. Not so the parking at £10 per day which is the NCP rate for hotel guests as opposed to £12.50 per day. The concession is that hotel guest can come and go as they like and only have to the single day rate so that is a little break. Rooms are great, no mini bars and yet ice machines available. I highly recumbent the hotel for a business stay as well as a leisure break. Location is easy access to motorways as well the city. August 28, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean spacious rooms The only comment is that Leicester being a multicultural city and it has a lot of vegetarian visitors. It will be nice to see food for vegetarians is not displayed amongst that for non vegetarians. If lack of space, then may be side by side. This way at least the serving spoons, tongs etc cannot be used for both products by guests. August 28, 2014

Twin room on a high floor was exceedingly comfortable and very quiet as well as being spotlessly clean. Cannot comment on food and drink as we ate out. Lots of bars and restaurants close by. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Not the nicest looking on entry, and it didn't get much better after that. Every time we stay in a hotel we accept that there will be the small chance of being put next to a mindless idiot watching an action movie in the small hours at high volume, who maybe has a crafty smoke in the bathroom; there also might be children being 'naughty' endlessly running around in the room above you after midnight too. But, When this affects your ability to get a good night's sleep, you expect the reaction of the staff to be sympathetic to your needs, professional and timely. i.e. either deal with the issues, or if easier (and you agree) find you another room and get you settled in asap so you can get back to enjoying the stay in the manner in which you want to, which for me is to be courteous and mindful of people in the room next door and to try to get some sleep at a reasonable hour for at least 7 hours if possible. This wasn't my experience at the Holiday Inn Leicester. It's a particularly ugly looking building and surround as you approach it. The check in and out were by far the best experiences of my stay with the friendly staff on the desk and were a polar contrast against the night desk's inability to just put me in another room (I requested this rather than have the acrimony of trying to deal with the cigarette smoking noise-makers, which should have been easier for them and quicker for me to get to sleep) in a time less than 45 minutes from when I reported the issue and asked to be moved. Earlier in the evening I'd had room service whilst I worked. It was disappointing when compared with what's generally supplied at other hotels in the chain. I ordered Salt Beef Hash, with a side of BBQ beans. I ordered the side order as I was famished due to having a long run as training for a marathon. As it turned out, without the side order I would've remained very hungry as the size of the main was very small, embarrassingly so. I didn't use the bar or restaurant in the evening, but the breakfast and breakfast staff where attentive, as you normally find at HIs, and the food was the standard offering with everything available as expected. Parking is in a scruffy adjoining multi storey car park, for which you will have to pay (check for details). Ensure you ask for your ticket to be validated by the front of desk - you can have the parking put on your bill (which can make things easier for some business users). I was going to stay hear in October for the Leicester Marathon, using some of my reward points, and actually had just booked it during the day but quickly cancelled the reservation the following day after this experience as I couldn't risk having such as poor night's sleep before my first marathon. For me the guarantee of a good night's sleep, or best efforts to supply this, are the bedrock of what you need form a hotel. So I won't be returning because it wasn't possible there and I love/need my sleep! August 21, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 1st visit to a Holiday Inn We stayed at Holiday Inn Leicester for 1 night and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived we were greated with a smile, check in was speedy and very efficient. I was given all the info I needed. then I made my way to the room, wow what a great room it was, so clean and a huge bed. The room was well furnished. As for the food it was 1st class, the service we recieved from our waitress Donna, was amazing, so friendly and attentive. This lady made our stay an even better experience. I would recommend this hotel and we are looking forward to our next visit in a few weeks time August 13, 2014

Parking was easy in nearby car park. Joined the loyalty programme which gave me free internet. Reception staff very welcoming and helpful with regard to hotel facilities and local directions. We always stay here when visiting leicester as we find no fault* with this place. •Rooms fresh and clean, beds really comfy. •Kids stay and eat free. •Free use of sauna pool and steam room. •Friendly staff who are always welcoming and helpful. *Faults. •Breakfast overpriced for the quality of the food. •Pedestrian road crossing to and from the hotel very limited-hotel is situated in the middle of a very busy roundabout. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel ? Motel ? Holiday inn ? Ok so I booked the suite and was told it was the best room they have .... Who puts the best room you have right opps the lift ?!?? Bedroom part of the suite was nice comfortable ... Bathroom was like something from 10 years ago and the lounge was nice but kept reminding me of an old pensioners home ! So cleaners were great friendly and helpful! Reception staff were ok sometimes slow to answer the phone ... Restaurant have to say was useless no room service breakfast and the dinner tasted like something warmed in the over from a freezer and presentation skills were useless, and when I went for dinner at 8 pm they had already started closing tables and was told to sit in the bar area as they were preparing for breakfast !!!!! Service was slow and almost as if they were doing you a favour !! My advice download a takeaway app ... Oh and forget about room service !! You can't even order breakfast to your room !! Oh and don't forget 10 pound a day charge for car park August 7, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by average city centre hotel in need of a refurb. Upon arrival the receptionist was very polite and welcoming offering complimentary water for being base member. Answered all questions professionally. The room was a let down (5th floor) in need of an update! Old furniture decor and curtains. Ate in the restaurant service was slow as no one was at the bar. After waiting 5 minutes a women than said someone will meet you around the corner in a abrupt manner. The waitress was very friendly engaging in conversation and polite. The bar maid when asked for ice was abrupt and a can't be bothered manner when we asked for ice and glasses which was recommended from reception as no ice machine on 5th floor. Overall the location is great for instant access to the city centre, the food is decently priced for the quality,and the leisure facilities are of good quality however the let Down was the service and dated and taty rooms. Executive rooms modern, clean, good sized beds, with water provided and good ventilation as required. The only points here would be better fitting curtains to make the room dark in the mornings, and new towels. Breakfast is adequate, BUT PLEASE, let's have coffee pots on the tables.....getting a cup of coffee or refill is a nightmare! Bar/lounge is good, but the menu never changes. It needs to change, be more extensive, or have regular specials. I spend most weeks at this hotel, and I am happy with the service, just improve on the above, and it will be near perfect. I have to say that there was only one robe and the towels slightly frayed, we did ensure that on check out that we informed the customer service ladies on the reception desk who in all fairness made a note of the issues. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by felt like a different low grade hotel couldn't believe how poor our experience was compared to the last time we stayed at this hotel. It would appear they have had a big turnover of staff. The receptionist staff were functional but very cold and not at all people friendly. Not enough staff at breakfast and the hot food was undercooked and greasy. Similarly the cold food was not replenished so things like fresh fruit, yogurts etc were in short supply. July 22, 2014
