Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent breakfast We stayed one night before an academic course at the hotel. We saw that one elderly couple were looked after very well at their check-in, escorted to the lift , and demonstrated how to use their room key for the lift. It was very nice to see that. Our room was clean and there was complementary chocolate, still water, and sparkling water. We were warned properly not to move any stuff in the fridge otherwise it will be charged automatically. There was a fixed hair dryer and enough towels. The breakfast was amazing and it was shame we did not have time to make own pancake! We had lunch at the hotel, included in the course, which was lovely as well, especially profiteroles! It was pleasant stay, thank you very much. October 2, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great location, friendly staff - tired bathroom I stay at Holiday Inns quite regularly, but this was my first visit to the Regent's Park one. The location, just behind Great Portland Street station, is great for tourists and those in London on business. My greeting at reception was friendly and my check in was swift and smooth. I checked that the hotel knew I was a Priority Club member (or iHG member, whatever it is now called) and the receptionist advised me that they were aware and that the points for my stay would be added to my membership account. I was allocated a room on the second floor. This surprised me a bit as at other Holidays Inns, being a Priority Club member, I have always been allocated a room on a floor towards the top of the hotel. I got the lift to my floor (you need to use your key card to activate the lift which is a good security feature). The bedroom area of my room was fine, but I wouldn't class it as 4 star. It had an open style wardrobe area with a hanging rail (more budget hotel style). I also think my room may have been above the restaurant, bar or some other public area which is not ideal. My gripe with the room (251) was the tired state of the bathroom. The tiles and grouting around the bath need attention!. I don't expect to see this in a 4 star hotel. I think Holiday Inn need to pull their socks up regarding maintenance of the property. People expect better standards from a four star hotel. Anyone wanting to use Wi-Fi (let's face it, that's just about everyone these days) be aware it is chargeable and expensive. The area was very noisy at night with party goers. I know it was a Friday night in a major city, so this is only to be expected. I don't think being a Priority Club member gave me any benefits at this particular Holiday Inn which is disappointing. Loyalty should be rewarded. All in all, great location but not a four star experience. Ok if you can get a price deal, but I don't think I'd stay at this particular Holiday Inn again. I've stayed at the Premier Inn near Kings Cross and had a bigger room, cheaper rate and quieter night. Oh, and the bathroom there was in perfect condition. Although I encountered very friendly, polite and efficient staff, sadly the hotel itself did not offer me the expected Holiday Inn standards and experience. October 1, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Central location This central location has good transport into town. The hotel is clean and the décor is being refurbished. Enjoyable stay September 30, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient location in quiet neighbourhood We stayed four nights in a twin room. The hotel is located close to the subway station (Great Portland station, less than 5 min walk) and allows a convenient access to other London areas. There are convenient stores near the station. The Regent's park is within 10 min walk and the neighbour is quiet. The room was relatively spacious and comfortable (equipped with a hair dryer and ironing set). There was a refrigerator in the room, but no space for a personal storage was inconvenient. The Wifi was not free, and the short time connection feels expensive, but if you stay longer, it will be around 10GBP/day (with two connecting devices). The receptionists were kind and responsive. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely poor value for the price We were shocked what we got for the price we paid for a room we used for less than 12 hours. Reception area is so stark and uncomfortable looking. There is no warmth at all. We couldn't believe it that breakfast not included for the price we paid for the room. We would definitely not be staying at this hotel again and would not recommend it. September 26, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Avoid - old and tired rooms Stayed for 3 nites on revard points As a platimun was 'upgraded' to an Exec Room on lower floor Room was small and very tired looking - many sctatches and marked furniture September 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by perfect location Great location for all central London. Regents park a short stroll. September 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel - as long as you don't drive Used this hotel whilst visiting Lord's for the YB40 Final - very handy location. Staff were all very friendly and helpful; room service was very reasonably priced, quickly served and tasty. Room was clean and Holiday Inn mattresses and pillows are always very comfortable! Only negatives are lack of free internet access - wifi was available but expensive at a starting price of £5 for an hour's access; and the warnings from the hotel staff about recent break-ins to vehicles in the underground NCP car park. We felt perfectly safe in and around the hotel itself, but very wary about leaving our car (which we needed to transport all the stuff a 5 month old requires!). The car park doesn't belong to the hotel, so they have little control over it, but more than one member of staff gave very strong warnings about local thieves. Hence the low score for "Able to relax", which relates solely to the car park as the hotel itself is fine. Thankfully in our 2 night stay there were no problems, other than the price of this car park at £36 a day! Would definitely stay here again, but when our little one is a bit older and we can use the train! September 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by WiFi - A bad joke Whilst my stay was comfortable and staff were obliging and extremely welcoming, 'the complimentary' WiFi was appalling. Almost every other London hotel worth it's salt provides WiFi that is free and of good quality, whereas that provided by Holiday Inn ( as if they were doing me some great favour) was slow and at times non- existent. They really will have to do a lot better that this. September 21, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient Location in Quiet Area This was our second stay at this hotel which is situated in a quiet side street near Great Portland Street tube station. The room is comfortable and well appointed as is usual at 'Holiday Inn' hotels. Tea & coffee tray are provided as is an ironing board and iron. The bathroom although small was more than adequate for a short stay. The hotel has many restaurants and shops nearby and also has an NCP car park right next to it. One thing that I will say is that the car park is extremely expensive as compared to other car parks in London, we paid £36 for 20 hours whereas we paid only £24 for 24 hours in Pimlico. Thus said the car park is NCP and does not belong to the 'Holiday Inn' although they used to give discount if you parked there but now they no longer do so beware of the charges. Staff are courteous and helpful, rooms and bathroom are clean and beds are comfortable, breakfast was good. What more can you ask for, I would stay here again September 19, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Helpful staff Brief stopover so limited time but staff very helpful on late arrival. Room quite small. September 14, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and great concierge service. One of our best stays if only the restaurant was a bit more comprehensive and the room a bit larger. September 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by An Excellent Choice I have recently returned from a weekend break at Regent's Park Holiday Inn and would highly recommend this hotel to any London visitor. The reception staff are charming and helpful, the Dining Room is well run with an excellent choice at the Buffet Breakfast. I was given an room upgrade and loved the extras such as the fluffy bath robe and slippers. The hotel is near bus stops and it is walking distance to Regent Street and a fabulous choice of shops. A small supermarket on the corner of the street supplies those little extras which travellers need. Why do the management of the Holiday Inn chain not see the importance of free internet in all rooms? I had to walk to a nearby Pret cafe to access Google maps. This is so very short sighted when so many people have tablets and expect wi-fi at all times. The lowly chain Macdonalds even provides this service. Sorry to complain when everything else was so great September 11, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff The staff are very friendly and helpful at breakfast, check in and bar and restaurant September 9, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good experience This was our first experience with Holiday Inn Regent's Park. Very good feedback. Perfect services from frontdesk to the concierge. Points to be addressed: temperature (too warm) and noise all along the night (corridor A/C ???) September 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet relaxing hotel in central London The best thing about this hotel is that it is extremely quiet considering its location in central London. The rooms are consistent.... Clean and not too hot like many hotels. Staff friendly, food reasonable. You get what you pay for and I would recommend the holiday inn for its quietness and consistency. August 31, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A touch of tar in my honey It is a pleasant hotel in a good location at a reasonable price. That is more than most London Hotels can hope for, BUT in this day and age, charging for WiFi in hotel rooms from paying guests just is not acceptable any more. Being in a foreign country I don't have roaming activated on my phone and spending 5 days with internet stints in Starbucks just doesn't cut it any more. If this feature was added, I would come back any day. August 30, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Regents Park Another standard Holiday inn, I did not go crazy about the outside building decor however great location mins walk away from the main sights and again a short walk from 4 of the main line train stations. Some great pubs and eating places around the hotel also no need to pay for breakfast as again there are loads of places to grab a early bite to eat with a Sainsbury's local on the street corner. One word of caution the NCP car park below is very tight for any sizeable car. August 29, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ROOM Just a small advise, the toilet must be updated, fine for the rest. August 28, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Really nice, I'd go back to this hotel. Not the most handsome building but very comfortable place to stay. Close to the tube station and within easy walking distance of Oxford Street. We walked back through Regent's Park after a day at London Zoo. Staff pleasant and helpful and the restaurant was good value, with good food and pleasant staff. And for a central hotel, it was peaceful and quiet. August 26, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Clean & welcoming We have stayed many times, usually for two nights. Bit disappointed we couldn't access a room when we arrives at 11.30 am. August 26, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by just average, not more Rooms are extremely tiny, but what to say about the bathroom?... When I was shaving, I managed to have toilet pressuring my leg, while I was stuck between the sink, and litterally had the handle of the door... in my back.... It's even a challenge to enter in the shower. Now, just a glance at the plumbery will also tell you that it's not been renewed for 25 years at list. Oh, and, by the way.... previous time I stayed there only on French tv was actually working... This time, tv channels in French listed were not working at all!... I unfortunately need to stay there regularly since holiday inn made a price just a few euros below the price of a far better hotel closeby. August 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Break Can not fault anything regarding my stay at your Hotel. Room was Ist class staff were excellent. I would love to come back it was that good. Thank you. August 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service comfortable room Recieved very warm welcome from reception staff. They were very helpful and certainly exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice on offer. I was staying using priority club points and thought I might receive a lower standard of service - how wrong was I! Would defo recomend hotel, especially as so close to Oxford Street and because of the excellent service. August 18, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Comfortable bed and very convenient hotel location At first it seems to be a bit far from the centre, but it really isn't. The 88 bus runs frequently and goes via Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square to Westminster. Only a few minutes to Oxford Street. And for arrivees via Kings Cross, St P or Euston, it is only a couple of minutes by bus. So really convenient. Pleasant and helpful staff. We had a room change, which was handled very quickly. So all in all a good experience. We will return. August 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nicely located This hotel is ideally positioned for sight seeing in central London. The welcome was great and we had a lovely, comfortable, clean room, but it only had a view to a narrow side street which, I suppose, is pretty standard for London. The fittings in our bathroom were quite old, although fully functional, which gave the bathroom a tired feel. Food and drinks were reasonably priced and good quality. Service was efficient and friendly. August 12, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Satisfactory but I wouldn't visit again. The room was fine and the bed very comfortable. Hotel is in a great central location. Annoyingly there was no hair dryer which I found odd as I have always had a hair dryer in other holiday inn hotels across London. Service at the reception desk was poor. We were told that they were too busy to help us order a taxi and when we wanted to store luggage we were told to wait at an empty desk to which nobody arrived to serve us and we ended up walking away with our bags. Overall an ok experience I wouldn't stay again. August 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A short visit On arriving I always find the staff at the Holiday Inn Regents park to be very helpful, friendly and welcoming. A rare thing in sometimes a hectic London. Great location near to the tube station and several shops for the essentials. I always stay here when in Regents Park for meetings as its easy to get to the the park by feet or tube. I didn't have food this time but breakfast on my last stay was very nice. August 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by hotel with the friendliess staff and great service the staff at this hotel make all the difference, compared to some other London Holiday Inns. (I have stayed at most of them). Greta, the bar tender greeted me and served me dinner - an excellent steak. at breakfast Helen greeted me and Samwarmit? looked after me and served me poached eggs just how I like them. August 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Will come back again It is conveniently located and has very helpful staff. Oxford street is walking distance with many Tube station in the vicinity. Breakfast quality is phenomenal. All in all a very good place to stay. August 4, 2013
