Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable bed & clean room After several stays here, I now know to ask certain staff during check-in to make sure they activate the room key so I don't have to go to the room-just to find out that the room key doesn't work-then return back to the service desk with all my stuff to have the key activated. Other than that, the staff are pleasant; the room is comfortable & clean. December 3, 2013

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was accommodating, especially the guys on the evening desk. The attached sports bar was excellent. They even gave us late checkout because they knew we would be in town all day for a football tournament. November 13, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Less than stellar I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Louisville Airport South for 2 nights. My girlfriend and I shared a room with our 3 young children. My issues: I booked the room online and in the comments section I asked for a roll away bed. I didn't get a response but upon check in I was told that it is Holiday Inn's policy to not use portable beds. There were no rooms with a pull out couch, so I asked for a few extra pillows and blankets so someone could sleep on the floor if needed. The man at the counter said he would bring them right up. He never showed up. The phone in the room did not work so we could not call the front desk to remind him. I went down to the desk and again asked. He said he forgot and would be right up. Again, he never showed up. We decided to make due with what we had. Typically when I check in, I get a bottle of water or something for being a priority rewards member, I received nothing. We went down to the pool twice and found it to be very dirty. There were hair wads in the pool and on the walkway the first night we were there and they were still there the 2nd day. The pool was cloudy and the kids said they felt slimy and discusting. We put the sign on the door for the maid to clean the room the morning of our 2nd day. I even left a tip for the maid when we left the room. The beds were made, however, the toliet paper roll was laying on the counter, not on the dispenser, the trash was not emptied, even though it was overflowing, and all of the dirty towels were taken, but only hand towels were replaced. We had to go to the desk to ask for bath towels. When my girlfriend complained to the lady at the desk all she said was she was sorry but she could not rectify the situation, we would need to talk to the manager. We were so frusterated we just decided to leave. I just received the "Thank you for your stay" email and my first name is completely incorrect. How on earth did that happen when I booked online, signed my name on the check-in and I'm a Priority Rewards Club member? The only good thing we have to say is that it was easy to get to, the parking lot was lighted well and the room was not outdated. November 13, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Slow service I got in late, after 8 pm. Another customer was checking in when I came in the door and I patiently waited in line for my turn. I have no idea what the holdup was but I waited for at least 15 minutes. There was only one person behind the desk, so I had no recourse but to wait. I feel the wait was completely uncalled for. That was bad enough, but then when it was finally my turn, in the middle of my check in, someone came to the desk and asked the girl a question. She stopped doing my check in to give them an answer. I let it be know to her as well as the other guest that I was being waited on and they should wait their turn. She finished telling them what they wanted to know, then finished my check in. Pretty much made this platinum member feel like a second class citizen. I won't be staying at this location again. October 14, 2013

The front desk clerk apparently put us under a different room in the system and the night shift gave our room to another couple. After dealing the disgruntled couple I was unable to go back to sleep. After getting the wrong room, we were given another room that had someone staying in it, then got a 3rd room which still had a dirty wash cloth hanging over the shower curtain. We had to track down the person at the desk to find him in the back office playing in his phone. We travel a lot and have never had this happen. I doubt we will stay at a Holiday Inn again. It was overpriced for the lack of service we received. October 9, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Use some funds from room fees to buy a vacuum. My recent stay at the Holiday Inn - Louisville Airport South: 1. When I walked in, I saw snack cracker crumbs on the floor. There was a portion of a cellophane wrapper still on the floor. 2. The hot water at the sink never got above a mildly luke cold temperature. 3. I pulled a towel out of the storage compartment under the sink to dry off with. I always start by drying my hair. When the towel wrapped around my head, it smelled so retched that it actually caused me to vomit. 4. The toilet required multiple flushes (even if I was just flushing after urinating!!) Overall, that was the worst hotel stay I have ever had. It was just ridiculously bad. October 3, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Stay for NQC Although a little distance from the Expo Centre, with a rented car the trip was short and easy. The room was comfortable and clean, but the 4:30 am jets took a couple of days to get used to as we were on the top floor. The staff were friendly and helpful and replaced our faulty door lock promptly. The laundry was small and could of had additional washers and dryers as others wanted to use it when we were using it. Breakfast was excellent. We didn't use the dining room at other times. The ATM was helpful. September 21, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dirty and Noisy Room The first thing I noticed when entered the hotel was the musty "old attic" smell. I checked in to my room. At first appearance, the room was neat and clean. I got unpacked and trying to get my computer set up when I found 2 outlets by the desk did not function. The room was very noisy being next to Louisville Airport. At 3:30 AM, the UPS Cargo jets were very noisy while taking off. My first night when I turned down the sheets to go to bed, I noticed hairs, crumbs that resembled Cheetos, and brown stains all over the sheets. I called the front desk and found myself moving rooms at 9 PM. The room I moved too had an air conditioner unit that ran constantly, regardless of the temp entered. My second night was spent without internet service or TV from 4 PM until 9:30 PM due to an outage in the area. At the attached restaurant, there again was a stench of "old Attic smell". The food was overpriced and of low quality. The waitress could not remember what I ordered even though I was the only customer in the restaurant. Overall bad experience. I travel a lot during the week and I expect a room that is worth the money paid for it. This will probably be my last stay in a Holiday Inn Property. August 27, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Maintenance is a big issue here There were a series of issues with my stay. One, the toilet in my hotel was broke. When I asked for the hotel staff to have someone go look at it the receptionist told me no one from maintenance was available. I used the business center and there was a huge puddle of water on the floor, something in the building had been leaking leaving the business center a wet stinky mess. To cap it all off I saw the desk staff give out a guests hotel room number to someone on the phone and I saw them issue a new room key without requesting ID. Scary. August 22, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel, some services poor Location, rooms size, bed comfort, wireless, tv channels and restaurant were very good. Wait staff in restaurant was responsive. Management was able to help us move into a room with two beds after our grandson joined us at the last minute, even though the hotel was sold out of rooms with two beds. The hotel had nice amenities. On the down side, we left our room about 1 pm and upon returning at midnight our room was not made up. It was hot and we needed a shower and had to use towels from the morning that were still damp. After we went to bed, the air conditioner suddenly turned to a heater and blew out hot air. When it didn't correct itself we turned off the unit and were hot all night. In the morning, when I talked to the front desk staff, they made no effort to let me talk to management or even said they were sorry for the inconvenience. They were non-responsive and handed me the bill. Additionally, when I was looking for something under the bed, I saw that the rug was filthy and hadn't been cleaned in months. Because of these reasons, I was less than satisfied with the stay. July 21, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good location and excellent restaurant I spent many weeks here this year on business travel. The attached restaurant served excellent food. Ask for Dawn or Trish and you will get stellar service. The morning buffet with Darla serving was excellent as well. Hotel is in fine condition with comfortable rooms. My own belief is that even numbered rooms (opposite the airport side) were quieter. Request a room ending in 04 (204, 304 etc.). Although close to the elevators they are extremely large and I did not hear much foot traffic or noise from the elevator which often happens with rooms located next to one. The location isn't the greatest, being so close to the airport but it has excellent access to the freeway system and many attractions are within a 20 minute drive. June 27, 2013

I waited at least 15 minutes before the shuttle bus arrived only to find out the front desk person was also the shuttle bus driver. I was tired and angry. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor time The wifi did not work even with the help of the staff. The wifi worked in the previous hotel and when we reached home. The previous guest left his dirty underwear in the drawer beneath the tv. There wasn't a television guide. The staff had an old guide which didn't match the channels. Every floor had a pop machine but no snack machines since the hotel had a problem with the pop machines and how they were filled. The floor lamp lacked a light bulb. Great morning breakfast! The property was modern and fresh looking in appearance and decor - clean and bright. The room, and bed were comfortable and pleasant. I especially appreciate the choice in pillows. From walking into this Holiday Inn's foyer to departure, a guest can expect great staff attitudes, clean rooms and decent proximity (within minutes for each# to University of Louisville, Kentucky Exposition Center, SDF #aka, Standiford Field or Louisville International Airport), multile major federal highways and restaurants as well as courteous and round-the-clock airport pickup and drop off. With the world's ninth-largest commercial "airline" fleet (UPS) based in Louisville, one can either experience that lesson during the early morning hours as tens of UPS jet-airplanes begin "rounds" or sleep peacefully, as is the case here. The smallest guest rooms are more than spacious for the average businesman, providing a desk, ergonomic desk chair and having excellent Internet access. And only hotel by airport with a great basketball court. May 2, 2013
