Everything good about this hotel. Good swimming pool, breakfast and the location... Surroundings as well as the proximity to Alton Towers.
The executive room could have been bigger.

Don't be fooled by thinking that being a member of their Rewards Club will enhance your visit.
My experience after staying at this hotel frequently is that it won't!
My stays were much more pleasant and cheaper before joining the scheme.
On this visit, I was given the smallest possible double room; double a joke, as the bed was the smallest it could be to be called a double!
I'm starting to look for an alternative for our visit for my granddaughters birthday in August!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by zaz512 Comfortable hotel, staff did their best
A decent standard in terms of cleanliness and quality of furnishings and the swimming pool was nice. Sadly there are issues here in terms of enough staff available to serve any drinks at the bar, the food is very poor value for money and takes ages to come out. The staff did really well to make the best of very difficult circumstances and help customers as best they could. I was kept awake by children using the corridor outside my room as a playground. I wouldn't hurry back here but it was ok overall.

This hotel is in the middle of a much needed refurb and the appearance of the corridors and rooms is very good now. Be warned that executive rooms do not have a bath now - just a shower.

i have stayed at the Holiday Inn M6 junction 15 3 or 4 nights a week for the last 15 months so i feel i am well qualified to make a comment on its dimishing standards.
There has been a recent change of hands and a change in the Management team, this has led to a high turn over of staff in the past month or so, this tells me all is not well at the Holiday Inn.
Hotels are made by the people who work in them and i have to say that the good people who made this a good place to stay are leaving in their droves, the hotel is nothing special and cetainly not to the standard of other Holiday Inns but this was compenstated by the people who worked there.
Its safe to say it has lost it's appeal and i am now looking for somewhere else to make my home during the week.

At over £20 for a steak meal, one would have expected to be served hot food on a hot plate or platter. The chips, mushroom and tomatoes were cold and the platter they were on was also cold. Obviously they were prepared and placed on the platter in advance of the steak.
After complaining, I was provided with a replacement portion of hot chips.
