As a platinum member I experience a wide range of IHG facilities. The chain has got it right 95% of the time with it's customer service through its team, this is no different, good team. The negative is the hotel itself which looks very tired and needs a facelift and general makeover.

Read a few reviews on this hotel before my stay (which was 3 nights) and was a little concerned. I need not have been.
I am Platinum member of priority club and have stopped in many Holiday inn hotels and this was is one of the best in my opinion. Yes, its a little dated and needs a face lift which I was told is scheduled but that is a very minor point in comparison to all the positive aspects of this hotel.
The staff were brilliant, really helpful and nothing was too much trouble. They were very attentive and seemed to genuinely care about the hotel and its guests.
We had our evening meal there twice which was very good as was breakfast. I had an executive bed room which was comfortable, very clean with a good shower and spacious.
I received every benefit possible regarding my platinum priority club status which does not happen very often at many IHG hotels I have stopped at of late so its good that here, they recognise and reward loyal customers.
The hotel is in a great location, just off the M1 and very easy to find and has a good spacious car park. It only takes 5 minuets to walk into the lovely little village of Flore which is also a bonus. I was attending a race meeting at Silverstone which is about 20 minuets away and very easy to get to from here.

We had booked 5 room for a wedding we were attending. The morning before the day of arrival I received a telephone call to ask what type of rooms I required and how many beds to make up. That was the beginning of a very pleasant stay. The room were of high cleanliness and size. The staff were most helpful and offered any help they could. Overall a very enjoyable stay, and I would stay at a Holiday Inn again. Thank you.

The staff are really friendly, helpful and efficient. When there was a problem with our kettle within five minutes a replacement appeared. The hotel is apparently on a programme of refurbishment just to modernise the appearance. This is not to say it is in any way run down the place is not tatty and is very clean. The bathrooms are modern and have a powerful shower. We stayed when the weather was cold and the hotel room and public areas were warm. There were even extra heaters in the large bar area which you could switch on if you wanted. The breakfast was cooked to order and was very nice we also had a bar snack for lunch one day and that too was absolutely fine.
Mainly a business hotel, I think, but we stayed to visit family and it is near to the home of the late princess Diana and some lovely areas to visit. Convienient for the M1 to use as a stop over to break up a journey. Also there is a nice Gastro Pub (The White Hart) in the village of Flore to eat at night if you want to eat out.

The room service food I ordered was excellent and delivered in quick time. I would have scored the section 4 or possibly even 5 but unfortunately the breakfast was of poor quality due mainly to the fact there seemed to be very few customers therefore the food was left sitting on the display counter for too long. With such a low turnover would suggest perhaps cooked to order would resolve the issue.

Rooms are very old. Not anymore a Holidayinn Standard. Already the Executive Rooms did not see a refurb within the last 20-25 years.
Restaurant is ok so far, but Breakfast is poor. Friendly staff.
Noise from street does not help sleep quality - no sound proofed windows

The staff were very friendly and welcolming. I needed an early breakfast and asked whether I could have some cereal and rolls with honey to take back to my room but the night porter opened up the breakfast room for me with a full cold breakfast selection laid out and made me coffee - it really made a difference, thanks very much!
Room was great value at the price quoted and I got a good niights sleep.

Good location just off the M1 at Northampton, although there was some road noise it wasn't intrusive.
Room confortable and clean.
Bar area was big but very empty. No atmosphere, which didn't encourage you to want to stay around.
Big negative was the food, which was disappointing. I had Olives and bread as a starter. The bread was OK, but the olives, balsamic and olive oil were not of good quality. I felt that to make up for the poor quality, quantity would improve things. There were dozens of olives and a large pot of olive oil, which only made things worse. I would have been far happier with a few good quality olives and a small amount of quality balsamic and virgin olive oil.
Salmon main was not much better, as salmon was over cooked and dry.
Pity, because the staff were great and really wanted to do a good job. Very helpful and friendly.
Great for a getting your head down, but not if your looking for atmosphere and good food

Although I have not eaten here yet,what I have seen looks fine to me. I use this establishment as an overnight stay and I'm gone early in the morning but have no problems sleeping and it is in a very quiet location.The staff are always pleasant and polite.

I spent Thursday 6th and Friday 7th December at the hotel for business purposes. I used the lounge area to meet and work. This area was consistently cold and uncomfortable, despite efforts of staff to assist.
Service was of a low standard due to the lack of staff presence.
The room I spent the night in was however comfortable and acceptable.

Platinum Elite member, so far had 39 nights away this year in Hol Inns on business.
Snow on the ground outside, no heating what so ever in my room or on the 1 st floor, coldest room I've ever had in 20 years.
Food is pub food at best, normally I like to bring a client to dinner - not here.
On check in no Priority recognition in fact receprtionist was on the phone all the time, still don't know if there is a lift in the hotel?
No Platinum upgrades or free bees such as a drink of free internet. When I asked was told each Hol Inn works on a frachise and it was the policy not to give anything.
Won't be back for sure, sorry.

Great hotel, good room, good desk area, good TV channels, comfy bed.
The evening meal was disappointing, sorry could only describe as being pub grub.
BIG RANT, granted not a football fan
(due to overpaid, cheating, unsportsman like conduct of premiership players...
11 year olds now tell me 'diving' is part of the rules).
Question, why does football have to on in both the bar and restaurant areas?
Not every one wants to watch football, unless of course Manchester Unitied are playing.......
Didn't do breakfast.

Have stayed here a couple of times, the staff are friendly, extremely helpful and professional . I don't sleep well by nature , but slept comfortably in a clean and well furnished room, plenty of hot water, clean well fitted bathroom, with adequate handrails making it accessible to the elderly.

During my stay here the hotel experienced a problem with the heating. In the morning there was no hot water. I was informed by the receptionist that the engineer would not be along until 8am to resolve the problem. This was too late for me. After a cold shave and shower I checked out. This was not the receptionists fault - rather than create a scene at the front desk I paid my bill while letting her know I was not happy. I was assured that the hotel would be in contact later.
Still waiting. I will now pursue a complaint as I now realise I should have done at the time.

We had booked a king bed, non smoking room, and when we arrived we were given a standard double smoking. We couldnt change as there were no other rooms available. The experience wasnt pleasent!

Booked an executive room with a large bed and when I arrived was told that all was left was a normal room and it was a smoking room.
The smoking room smelt disgusting and made my stay there aweful.
We did get a refund for the room type but I really hate smoking rooms.
