Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing Well this is the worst holiday inn I have stopped in fact I have paid far less and got much better at budget chains. No air com, tired room and fittings, scruffy staff, and a basic inability to cook a steak anything but cremated I gave up after sending back twice. Take my advice save the money and sleep in the car. Please holiday inn don't post a reply saying thanks for comments and sorry I was disappointed just doing something positive with feedback. August 2, 2014

Nothing was too much trouble for the receptionist, Alex, and we felt from the beginning that it was going to be a good stay. She was very knowledgeable about local travel and clearly explained how to get about Northampton. Our room was very clean and roomy, with air conditioning and the window had been left open to air the room, which we really appreciated as it was a very hot day. In all we enjoyed our stay and would stop here again. July 29, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Outdated There was minimal plugs in a room with 2 double beds. I don't know how anyone expects to have 4 people in one room with 2 plugs in this day and age. As a reuptable, modern company, especially when this is used for leisure, people will be brining devices such as Ipads, phones. Nobody can charge anything! I can't fault the reception staff, they were fantastic and really efficient. They recognised we were IHG platinum card holders and treatd us accordingly. I wish I could say the same for the bar staff, they were in no hurry to serve anyone at the bar and considering there were 2 bar staff available, you'd expect them both to be serving with 7 people at the bar instead of one of them moping around. I'd also ensure your staff are tought some lessons on how to be polite as it seemed we were bothering them by just asking fror a different glass. Overall the stay was okay and the reception area was lovely. It seemed to be the best part of the stay. The rooms were far too outdated for the company and the eye sore that's supposed to be air conditioning needs to go, it's noisy and looks disgusting. The bathroom also needs a massive revamp, the shower was nowhere near as powerful as expected. I'd assume a MIRA would be better! The towels were great and the tea/coffee/ice bucket etc facilities upon arrival were great. Alot of work needs done around your bar staff and interior. The rooms need massively revamped. This has potential to be an even better hotel. Come on holiday inn! July 17, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor planning and service Bedford Road Holiday Inn - Not received as a Club Member. - Couldn't use the restaurant cos a party had been booked and took up a third of the space. This apparently stopped all dinners being served and only room service was available so had to hastily arrange meeting and dinner elsewhere. This was not indicated upon booking 3 weeks before. - like they didn't know - huh. - Staff had the attitude of couldn't care less as long as we have your money. - I will say though the Breakfast was great - only trouble is it costs £9.00. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by What is that noise? I was given a room that was supposed to be one of the quieter ones. As I expected, it was clean airy and comfortable and the staff and service were very good. Unfortunately, the room was very noisy. True, it was quiet because it was on the side of the hotel away from the busy main road but there is something in the hotel controlled by a timer or thermostat that causes something to switch on and off at regular 15 minute intervals. When it is on there is a low rumbling noise that made it impossible for me to sleep. I rang reception and they gave me a new room as 11:30 at night. This was better and I thought it had all been down to my imagination. But on the last night of my stay, even in this newer quieter room at 3:00 in the morning I could hear the noise again. This time I knew it wasn't my imagination because it seemed to be coming from another part of the hotel (my old room). July 5, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff, problem unresolved overall staff were very friendly, but my main issue was that the Wi-Fi was horrendously slow, to the point of giving up - do not pay for it, massively over-priced. Reception staff listened to my issues, but no solution was given. Food good, hotel very clean, rooms a bit tired looking and air con units are loud! Was there for 4 nights business, the hotel did the job, but may well be looking for alternative hotels next time I visit. July 1, 2014

I THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND THE FULL ENGLISH BREAKFAST WHICH IS COOKED IN FRONT OF YOU AND IS ALWAYS PIPING HOT - THE GREAT WAY TO START YOUR DAY. tHE TIMES FOR BREAKFAST ARE ALSO VERY ACCOMODATING FOR EITHER THAT EARLY START OR A LONG LIE IN ON THE WEEKEND - IDEAL!! The room was very clean and kept spotless. The breakfast was excellent and all the staff were very attentive to our needs. This was the first time that I was allocated a ground floor room, in spite of the fact that the weather was mild, it was difficult tp keep the room warm. Also with no heating in the bathroom, it was freezing. Def request an extra blanket if you are given a ground floor room (34). Mike May 15, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not as expected. very dissapointed with this Holiday Inn compared to many others i have stayed in, Bathroom very tired and dated, bed not comfortable, 1 bedside lamp did not work, only 1 hand towel . On the plus side on the 1st night the staff were excellent, and the food was great. Overall THis is 1 Holiday Inn I doubt we shall visit again. April 2, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff, I have stayed at this hotel every week for the past 8 weeks and would intend to stay much longer, however for the 4th time I've had a room with no heating. I really do find this an unacceptable standard for a hotel from the IHG brands, The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble, it's the service that makes me return. Having said that if it happens again I will need to change hotels as I suffer with a chronic lung condition and cannot risk colds or infections. April 1, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rowdy guests What is usually a quiet stop over was spoilt by a few inconsiderate guest's in the early hours of Sunday morning. The staff were very apologetic but they can't be held accountable for a few rowdy people. This review would have had a higher score but for this. Also, a few early leavers (just after 6am# were holding a loud conversation out side our window whilst unnecessarily revving their cars engine #this was in the disabled parking space). March 28, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by freezing or noisy air heater I have stayed here before with no problem however all I can say is do not stay in room 138...I am now full of the cold because I stayed in the coldest hotel room known to man and when I turned the heater on you would of thought the hotel was going to fall down! I spend most of my working week in hotels and I do not expect this from holiday inn or other ihg brands and the lack of interest at checkout was appalling. March 22, 2014
