Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor I've Just started a new contract in Northampton and I thought I would check out a few of the hotels in the Northampton area before selecting my base. On checking in as a Spire Elite Member gained by staying from the other excellent Holiday Inn hotels around the country I was told the computer has put me down as a Basic member. Even if I was just starting out as a new member of the IHG rewards scheme it would have been better to acknowledge guests aa club members ? No mention on check in where the restaurant was or any mention of breakfast. I did get a top floor room which was clean and a bit dated apart from the bathroom which was good quality. The WIFI didn't work for me so this will be one of the main reasons why I wont be staying there again as I do need internet access for my Job. I did manage to get to sleep about 11 but was awoken by a couple arguing in the corridor about 1am this went on for 15 to 20 minutes then at 3am there was a lady banging on the door opposite my room trying to get inside her room this went on for 30 minutes then I could hear the lift going up and down for 10 minutes then another 15 minutes of banging on the door before I finally got dressed and went out to see what was going on. I found the night porter outside the room he told me the couple were drunk and he had left there door on the latch so they wouldn't disturb the guests. Location and room cleanliness were the best part of the stay but I do need sleep when I have work the next day. Sorry to say I wont be staying at this property again October 4, 2015

The staff were friendly but not helpful I am sorry to say I would not recommend eating here, the breakfast was pretty for poor. It was ok for a night stay, any longer would be questionable. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good nights sleep Welcoming staff, was a last minute booking, first time at the hotel and was welcomed as a regular. Very quiet room and comfy bed. Nice food and reasonable bar prices. Facilities were very good and the Hotel well kept and clean. September 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyable stay This was my second stay at the hotel and I have no complaints to make of either visit which I find pleasing as they were twelve months apart. During that time there had been upgrade of the bathrooms which gives me confidence that it is not a hotel where time stands still. Whilst the upgrade is good I did not like the overhang of the sink top which may cause complaint later unless special attention is given to cleaning this area. Several of the staff were familiar faces which again I like as this also shows that they all work well together hence good service. September 16, 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Complacent Ordinary Holiday Inn. Problem with check in and not recognised as platinum member or offered, upgrade, points or Wi-Fi. Asked for points and was assured they would be credited to account, still not had them. Large turnover of staff so always seem to have staff training which excuses incompetency. September 13, 2015
