Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed I booked a room at this Holiday Inn for my Wife and I because we wanted to do an out-of-town Christmas shopping trip. I use my free Chase credit card night to book the room. When I arrived, I wasn't acknowledged as an Elite or even a IHG member at all. I told the clerk that I was a IHG Elite member and wanted to see if I could get a room upgrade if available. I always do this and sometime receive an upgrade and when not available get an apology for not being able to accommodate the request. This time I got, "ARE YOU KIDDING, there's no way we can give an upgrade for a free night". I'm not sure how this works using free nights with different hotels, but have received upgrades in the past with free nights. All-in-all, I was just a bit upset with the response I received from the clerk. To reach the Elite status with a hotel brand doesn't come cheap! Just venting December 15, 2014
