It was my family vacation and we went through some happening there, I might say it can happen to anyone specially for the frequent traveler like me. When I asked the wrong billing and wrong room assignment, it might be okay if we could adjust but please, please, express your apology on your mistake to me. Hotel staff's saying"Sorry", it was fine with me but none told it when their mistake had done, before my begging(?) please refer to my correspondence after finding wrong charge(more than USD 220.) from hotel to me. My little niece was very astonished after her shower and it was not just fun story. Those things might happen but it is better not to take place. And if did happen like that, at least it is very nice to express apology. I didn't mention big thing just to express your respect to in-house guest. No matter how, I'm going to share these stories on the review at IHG web and trip advisor at least the others can make an extra attention to these points when they visit your property again. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean rooms and attentive staff It looks like the entire hotel was recently renovated and it shows! Beds were comfy and clean, room was nice and the view was great! The breakfast brunch was expensive and the food quality was mediocre considering the city that it's in. Staff were very helpful and friendly. My only nitpicks are the cloth covering the windows weren't thick/dark enough to block out the light in the morning. Also, the elevators are poorly setup as you have to swipe your room key to access any room, which sounds good in practice but after swiping there's no feedback and the timeout is very short. Further, if you're trying to go down and hit the down button while waiting for elevators, it'll open the doors on an elevator full of people trying to go up. March 3, 2015

The upgrades/renovations were great, they really thought through logistics and clearly got input from frequent hotel users about things people like. Everything felt clean! The comforters are white so you know they're clean. My view was gorgeous! Staff was friendly. The only thing I would say is that the restaurant had great food and great service, but not for the prices. I had a yogurt parfait and a mocha and it was $15. That is outlandish. I did hear from friends that the breakfast buffet was good for the price though, so I'll try next time. I would rate this hotel high on my list! :) February 27, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic views/excellent value. Cannot fault this hotel for location, friendliness and service. We asked to be moved from a small room ( 2 adults and a small child which wasn't unreasonable as we were staying for over a week ) and our request was met graciously by the manager on duty for the evening after an initial mix-up. We will most definitely be returning in the following years. The location is just perfect! So close to California St cable car and the buses along Van Ness Ave. We paid the higher rate to ensure a view ( Grand View King ) and didn't regret it one bit. We marvelled at the view of this lovely city and all it has to offer. February 27, 2015
