I and my wife have now retired and expect to travel quite frequently, so what better way then to find what should be a nice hotel chain to associate ourselves with. First issue we ran into at the Holiday Inn at Santee was the heating/Ac unit sounded like an old volkswagon van from the 60's We were moved to another room but low and behold the 2nd room also had heating/Ac unit issures guess there units have minds of there own. Now I own several dogs and this is a pet friendly chain but to hear barking thru the night was just a little to much for this traveler and pet lover, so let's say there was not much sleep. Visited the restraunt-bar, food was worse then Mcdonalds and the bar didn't even have the mixtures for the drinks we wanted, oh well. So for this hotel being in a tourist area known for it's fishing I would assume they hope that the folks coming off the lake are to tired and had there fill of food and drink before they get back to the hotel.

Below average for aging hotel and poor service to boot. Better choices in area so will avoid this one in the future.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rocky926 No Free Breakfast, but Otherwise 5-Stars
The cleanliness and comfort of the room, the bed and the pillows, the friendliness of the staff and the appearance of the facilities are all top-notch.
The hotel is 1/2 mile off I-95 200 yards behind McDonald's. Take a left at Clark's Inn and Restaurant which I recommend, too.
I just wish the hotel offered FREE breakfast. You must buy breakfast in the restaurant or find it elsewhere.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Nice Stay
Great stay, Just work on the Breakfast. As a Spire member I stay out a lot. The IHG properties are always a great place to hang your hat. Plus they are almost every where you want or need to stay. If you are not a member it is worth the time to sign up.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I 95 traveler comfortable stay
There are few decent hotels along I 95 to stay if you are traveling with pets. So we ended up staying here. It was a very nice and clean hotel. The staff was super nice and friendly. The rooms were a nice size.
BUT unlike other Holiday Inns and other comparable hotels in this class and price range this hotel DOES NOT offer the free breakfast. So not only did we have to pay an extra $40 for 2 pets we also had to shell out for breakfast so add in another $45 for 3 adults and a child. Because it was late and very cold out we opted to eat dinner at the hotel. I WOULD NOT recommend this. The menu is ok but the food itself barely mediocre. The staff was nice and friendly but the food was underwhelming.
