Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Our private function was excellent We celebrated our Ruby Wedding Anniversary with a private function for 20 and we were well looked after. All staff were helpful, friendly and professional - the Conference August 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic I really liked the swimming pool and the gym was good as well. The evening meal was fantastic, I will be looking forward to staying in more holiday inns. August 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Favourite we stay in lots of hotels throughout Europe but this is the family's favourite! WE always feel relaxed and refreshed even if we are only staying a night! August 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Can't be faulted. Booked on the internet and the whole experience was excellent. All though understaffed in the kitchen area the service was great. Breakfast was up to standard and the room clean and comfortable. The swimming pool was clean and warm. Will be using this hotel again. August 26, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel but overcharged and no help in resolving this We booked a room for 2 adults and a child with dinner and breakfast, and paid upfront with an additional 25 pounds to cover charges to the room. The hotel seemed good, nice room, helpful staff, we enjoyed the pool and gym, dinner was ok apart from a grumpy cook being rude, we had 6 drinks which would have been covered by the extra £25 payment. We would have recommended this hotel. However, a few days later we found an additional charge of over £85.00 had been made to our bank account, called the hotel on the premium rate number and someone promised to call us back, there was no callback. We emailed ihg customer relations who promised a response within 48 hours from the hotel, 49 hours later no response. Called the premium rate number again and the person at reception said they would call back in half an hour, 3 hours later and again no call back. We have not even had a courtesy call to say someone is looking in to it, just being ignored. If you want an experience like this then go ahead and book August 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff, everywhere very clean we had an overnight stay with many family members joining us from around the country for a wedding. We were allocated an area of the dining room so that we could all eat breakfast together. Staff were very efficient and attentive. August 23, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good size room, comfortable but bad food The room was good with plenty of room. The food in the restaurant was poor with no vegetables or fresh salad on offer in the buffet. Reception was welcoming and efficient August 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Relaxing stopover with kid friendly staff We stopped over en route back from holiday in France with 3 tired kids. Very friendly service from all staff, particularly with the kids who ate for free. Restaurant had a buffet on for dinner but reasonably priced bar meals were still available and good quality. Internet access was reliable in both rooms and common areas and service was good. We had booked on a good advance rate which made the stay good value. Having stopped at a number of different Holiday Inns across the UK this was everything I expected from a stay here. August 22, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by A wholly bad experience The main problem was the food. The bar meal we had on arrival was just plain bad. My salt beef hash consisted of a few pieces of "beef" and the rest was huge amount of boiled potatoes cut in half. My wife's fish was OK but the chips were soft greasy and too well done and not eaten. The cost of the 2 meals was refunded at departure but arriving after a long day we wanted decent meals not free inedible meals. The breakfasts (3 days) were the worst we have had in any IHG hotel. The bacon was the cheap type where the meat is injected with water and results in a white scum on the bacon when cooked. The eggs were very greasy and hard even when having waited for fresh ones to be cooked. The tomatoes were not fully cooked, the hash browns hard and all the food, even when freshly brought out cooled very quickly. The sausages though were reasonable. We never received our paper on the first morning and cancelled them thereafter. The accessible room had no roll in shower. None of reception staff, except the lady who checked us out, appeared to be on top of their jobs. The counter at Reception was so high that only the top of my head was above the surface as I was sitting in a wheelchair. At check in another customer ignored me and went straight in front of me to be served, it was only after I objected that the receptionist attended to me first, but this seemed to have annoyed her and I was treated very vaguely. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by tolle Familiensuite Super Hotel! Kostenloser Parkplatz vor dem Hotel. Freundliches Personal und guter Service. Reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet. Tolle, große Familiensuite und angenehme Betten. August 18, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely Staff, clean hotel, just avoid the dinning! The hotel was clean and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The gym facilities were also good. Unfortunately the hotel was let down by a very poor quality of food, which was compounded by over 1 hour waiting time. TV free view channels were limited, and the WIFI was also poor. However, the front desk staff did their very best to make up for the poor food where they could. August 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service and cleanliness was good The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean. The bed linen etc was good and the mattress was firm. I do have a disability and staff were most helpful and nothing was too much trouble. They asked if they could assist with breakfast and they served me at my table. The breakfast was all beautifully cooked and plenty to eat to set you up for the day ahead. I would definitely stay again. August 17, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by A Little Disappointed Our one night stay at Holiday Inn's Maidstone - Sevenoaks hotel made me realise why I prefer staying at the hotel round the corner. Despite an email the previous day confirming there would be a travel cot in our room we were disappointed to find just a folded out sofa bed and no cot. We had to call reception to sort this out and the person who eventually brought us one had no idea how to fold away the bed or set up the cot. This was after our arrival (with prior notice that we were travelling with a young child and all her clobber) fiasco where we found out our room was on the 2nd floor, up three flights of stairs with no lift. We expected that a young child would have a room on the ground floor or very close on the first floor. In Holiday Inn's defence, they were hosting a wedding that evening so perhaps all rooms were booked up or maybe they were trying to keep us away from potential noise and disruption, but they didn't tell us this so we felt as though they didn't care about us. Later on we decided to get some room service. Food was priced as expected, quite reasonable for a hotel to be fair. But again we were let down. This time my meal (lasagne) was cold in parts and no cutlery was brought up to the room. I ended up using a teaspoon from the tea/coffee making tray to eat my food! Despite these three major gripes, there were some positives. Firstly the girl on reception who checked us in was brilliant. She was cheerful, helpful and went out of her way to sort us out. She even carried a heavy bag to our room without moaning. The room was also very clean and we all got a good night's sleep, which I guess is all you really want at a hotel like this. All in all, I wouldn't stay here again if there was another hotel available within 30 miles but I'd prefer it to sleeping rough on the hard shoulder of the M26. August 13, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing Having stayed at other Holiday Inns in the UK and the USA my experience was disappointing. The room was very dark and the long flight of stairs was a problem with carrying my luggage. The fire alarm went off one morning and there was little comment from staff. My bill included beverages I did not have. This hotel needs an upgrade of the rooms particularly of the bathrooms. My shower curtain was very stained. All such a shame as have had some very good experiences of Holiday Inn hotels previously. August 13, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable stop off Stayed here for one night on the way to get the Ferry @ Dover. Fist issue was the address given for the hotel is not very good for find the hotel with a satnav. Unfortunately we did not have a chance to use the restaurant as it we were told there was no tables and would need to wait for around half an hour for bar food. We booked a double bed executive room for 2 adults and a child. when we arrived the couch had been made up as a bed ready however they had taken two pillows from the main bed and placed them on the couch leaving just two on the Bed. I would hope that if you book a room for 3 people then it should be set up for tree people with the correct amount of pillows towels slippers etc. Breakfast was nice with a good selection and the waitress was helpful with my wife's dietary requests. Would stay again, August 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great service, polite staff, would use again Stayed 2 nights with my wife & the 3 grow up children (3 rooms) great service, nice hotel in green/landscaped surroundings; big car park, pool, 2 daughters used the sauna room, said it was good. would recommend. August 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great family hotel Everything you need from a family hotel, friendly professional receptionist who made a special effort to make my children welcome. Lovely restaurant well prepared food, presented by friendly attentive waitor - nothing was too much trouble. Great to find a family room which accomodates 5, not the usual 4 persons. August 12, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Will stay here again. Used as a stop over on the way to the Eurotunnel. Good hotel with everything that one would expect from the Holiday Inn. Family room was perfect for the four of us and we made good use of the leisure facilities. One improvement suggestion: A lift close to the second floor family rooms would make getting luggage in and out much easier. August 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very comfortable stopover A very nice hotel. The beds were comfortable, the room clean, staff very friendly. Really, we couldn't fault it - except maybe the fact we could hear the people in the next room talking, but this is something you expect in a hotel, and there really was very little noise overall. We only stayed for one night to break our journey so didn't make use of all the facilities. Next time we are in the area we will definitely stay here - and bring our swimwear so we can use the pool, which looked so inviting! So all in all a comfortable and enjoyable stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. August 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great service Everything apart for the pillows scored highly. They were marked soft but I found them uncomfortable. August 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pre tunnel stay for 15 Great pit stop before tunnel to France. Staff extremely helpful August 10, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel We only stayed here for two nights, the first night we had a meal which was included, you did have to book on arrival. The waiter called Trevor seemed new but was very friendly and helpful. The room had a fridge for your use which is unusual but was great. It wasn't stocked with the hotels drinks etc which again we preferred. We went to visit Dover which was about an hour away, the hotel is in easy access of the motorway. There was a pub a short walk away called The Moat which served nice food. Overall I would stay in this hotel again if I was to be visiting this part of the country. August 8, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Muy caro Pesima relación calidad-precio. Internet de muy mala calidad. Sin agua en la habitación y minibar vacio. August 8, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel shame about bar snacks Nice hotel with good facilities. Bar menu not great and would plan to eat in the restaurant or elsewhere if staying. Would use again. August 5, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by General comments Breakfast. Although generally good, on this occasion .we did not want the full breakfast and requested to know the price of the 'continental' breakfast. Apparently the price was the same so we declined. This was surprising as at other IHG hotels the 'continental' breakfast is a more acceptable price and indeed we were happy to have it. We both felt that the evening meal choice was not as good as in the past. I had a replacement knee back in May and found all the stairs really quite difficult. Fortunately we met a member of staff in a corridor and she was very helpful and insisted on taking the case to our room. She also saw me with the case on departure day and insisted on taking it to the car. Her name was Courtney and she really did IHG a credit. I am realy not too sure of the criterior for upgrading rooms for Platinum members. Perhaps you could let me know. However, your Standard rooms do have a fridge and this is always very much appreciated. We will certainly make a return visit. August 5, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable overnight stay I made a last minute booking to stay over for 1 night with my husband & 2 teenage boys. Finding a room that will accommodate the four of us doesn't always prove to be easy, but in this case it worked out perfectly. We stayed in an executive room as this had 2 double beds along with a sofa bed, which meant we all had a comfortable nights sleep. The lack of a lift wasn't a problem at all, 2 very short flights of stairs & we were straight to our room. Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the leisure facilities so I can't comment on these. We did manage time for a drink in the bar, and although there was some sort of function on in the adjacent room, we were served quickly & found a table easily enough. Although expensive, breakfast was very good. There was a wide choice of cereals, fruits, pastries, ham & cheeses & even the chance to make your own pancakes! The cooked breakfast was also very good & we didn't then need to eat until the evening. Ideally if I stayed again I would book well in advance as it was quite expensive, but then again I only booked 2 nights before staying. August 4, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great location for exploring Kent Love this hotel for exploring Kent and as we are from Cumbria we use it as a launch pad and landing site for travelling to and from France Great customer service always greeted with a smile and keen to help. We will be back. August 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This is our favourite Holiday Inn - we keep returning Staff are lovely - can't ever do enough for you. Always so polite, attentive, friendly, professional. First time here on DBB. Usually just B&B. Would not choose buffet night again - it was mediocre. The other nights we ate off the a la carte - delicious, tasty, well presented. Pool always spotless. Jacuzzi powerful. Steam room steaming. Sauna soothing. Love the fact there's no restrictions on children swim times. The children are always well behaved that we meet here, and our youngest loves a day with family and friends - then a quick swim before bedtime. Don't change anything. Rooms and public areas always impeccable. Breakfast always spot on with everything in stock. August 2, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by No lifts I had to take the cases up 3 flights of stairs as there was no lift at the hotel. I am elderly as was not warned of this at reception. I was offered a room for sidaabled on the ground floor when I asked about a lift but that room had no bath, olny a shower. There should be a warning that rooom are distant from recption with 3 flights of stairs. July 28, 2014
