Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Grimm!!! I have visited this hotel on a regular basis, probably a couple times a month at least, over the past 6+ years and experienced both the good the bad and the ugly. I have to say that I have started looking and staying elsewhere in the area because my recent experience has been pretty poor and the only reason I have put up with staying at this hotel is because my firm has an agreed rate. I may be being a little harsh as the rooms are generally very good when compared to other hotel chains, the gym facilities are good, staff are usuallly very friendly especially the reception staff however my last experience has left me feeling very under valued as a regular "customer" despite my IHG platinum status. Upon arrival I was greeted by a very cheerfull young lady who did everything apart from recognise my IHG status, however this is not my issue because when compared with the gentleman who checked me out she was an absolute star. Very often I have to check out at an early hour however on this occasion I was met with a very grumpy night porter/receptionist who I had just awoken at 5.30 a.m. in front of the TV in the bar area who proceeded to deal with my check out in an extremely rude manner, I presume because I had interuppted his slumber. What amazed me later on was not his lack of communication or down right rudeness but the fact that I learnt from one of my colleagues who had checked out approx. 20 mins before me that he and received exactly the same treatment! Food and drink have always been pretentious and over priced but this latest incident has really made me think twice about staying here again and Rochester is looking more and more like a favourable venue unless things change for the better. Sorry Wrotham Heath I have stayed loyal over the years but don't feel that I can endorse you any further and will be relaying this fact to my superiors. July 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Spacious room, delightful grounds. This hotel was selected for a large family party. The rooms were spacious and clean and equipped to make tea/coffee. Beds were comfortable., The grounds were nicely kept and the large patio area was very enjoyable for morning or evening visiting with others. Great pool and gym area. July 11, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel for the family I went to this hotel with my family of eleven we had a great weekend,The only problem we had was with the kitchen, It took them two and half hours to serve dinner, Other wise my score for staff and service would be excellent I would recommend this hotel July 8, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A very convenient location We stayed here for one night because we were attending a function nearby. The hotel was very easy to get to from the motorway and is in a lovely quiet area. We pre-booked the room at a good price so we weren't too disappointed that our room was rather dark, looking out as it did at a brick wall topped by a grass bank within 6 feet of the window! However, we made useof the health club swimming pool, steam room, and saunas, all of which were very good and added to the value for money experience. All of the staff we encountered were very pleasant and we have decided that we will definitely return at some point to do some sight-seeing in the area. (Hopefully we will get a room with more of a view next time!) July 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to chill... Very pleasant and quiet surroundings. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. If you're in and around Kent / Sussex and looking for a good place to stay for a night or longer, I would recommend this one, especially if you like peace and quiet. June 26, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by v good, except cold. I can not writ 50, this has already taken me nearly an hour. A very nice and comfortable stay. June 20, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Buffet meals- breakfast and lunch At breafast and lunch when food was low or empty it was not replenished, so if you were first the choice was good. When I asked the staff more was brought out. June 17, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wheelchair accessible facilities This hotel is one of only a handful (so far) of hotels that we have found that have made extra provision for wheelchair dependant guests. The bathrooms are extra large and the main rooms have space for wheelchairs to move around easiy. The beds are low which is not ideal for anyone who has to bend to help the wheelchair user or anyone who may have difficulty standing with out assistance, but they are comfortable and the hotel is able to provide assistance of required June 9, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Catalogue of mistakes Over the past year, I have stayed in several different Holiday Inn's for a total of over 100 nights and so I noticed several mistakes during my stay at Sevenoaks Holiday Inn. On arrival, the Receptionist did not offer any information about Breakfast or the Restaurant for the evening meal. She didn't mention Wi-Fi either. When I got to the room, I noticed that the executive set of bathroom toiletries were not there, nor was there any hot chocolate. I rung down to Reception to ask if the Restaurant was going to be busy, as I had noticed there was a Wedding party in the hotel, and was told that it was busy and got a very vague response as to whether I would be able to get served. I therefore decided to order room service and eventually had to call Reception to place my order as I had tried to get through 3 times and the phone just kept ringing. I ordered a burger with no mayo, but with ketchup, a pizza, a toffee sponge and a brownie, with a beer and a diet coke. I received a phone call from room service where they told me that I had ordered from the wrong menu and that pizza was not available. The menu in the room quite clearly stated that the food on it could be ordered in your room up until 11pm. I was also informed that the toffee sponge had run out so I had to choose a different main and a different pudding. When the meal arrived, the burger had mayo on it, and there was no ketchup. The coke was full fat and not diet. Therefore, the only part of the meal that was correct from our original order was the brownie! The following morning, I noticed that one of the towels had a brown stain on it. I did mention the above issues to the Receptionist on departure and she was very apologetic and helpful. Whilst none of these issues on there own is that great, it is not what I have come to expect from the Holiday Inn chain and overall I was disappointed with my stay. May 31, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 A hotel to remember This hotel is simply great: it is in a very beautiful part of the country and the staff are lovely. We will definitely come back! May 12, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Travelling with three under four I cannot recommend this IHG hotel highly enough. What I expected to be a mundane stopover (but with kids) was anything but. I purchased an advance Dinner and Breakfast deal quite late on, to break up a journey home from France with my wife and young girls, and it was pretty much the hotel highlight of the trip. Firstly, the staff were all engaging and fantastic - from the reception on both arrival and departure - to all the staff in the restaurant at dinner (and breakfast). It's the little things that made this so special. Like restaurant staff talking to the kids, the room staff providing a special mini duck each and a chocolate easter treat on the kid's individual towels, and reception staff actually making a genuine effort to deal with any request - minor or abstract - throughout our stay, even after checking out. At dinner, the unobtrusive attention made it worthwhile, to the point where I regret not tipping directly. At the end of an enjoyable meal, my wife took our baby to bed, but before she ordered her pudding they offered to take it up for her - complete with some personalised drawings from the kids for her. The food was also excellent! Would I stay again? If I'm in Kent, off to France or if I'm with the kids, then yes - darn tootin' - definitely. For a good experience of customer service-focused staff? Spot on. Sevenoaks Holiday Inn - highly recommended! April 4, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by No Lifts/Elevators in Hotel Very nice hotel, with one exception -- there are no lifts/elevators anywhere in the hotel. To get to our room it was a climb up four separate staircases! This is tough to do with luggage or if you have any sort of affliction that makes climbing stairs difficult. Highly recommend you request a ground-floor room if you have trouble with stairs. March 25, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Wouldnt stay again Staff very good, front of house all clean and good, looked good, staff were personable and smart, and happy to help Restaurant / food great and staff similar to main reception as above Room - cleanliness and privacy a concern - carpet looked v dirty, bathroom door split, and I could hear EVERYTHING that went on in the room next to me which I could have done without I'll probably use a premier in next time for similar / less money and certainly more privacy in room and cleaner if i compared this experience against past experiences Rated overall as poor - when I'm away for business being able to relax in my room after a long day is main priority March 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by lovley building not the best of hoilday inns how ever the buiulding was lovley. wwe had a smoking room right at the other end of the hotel not very good if you cant walk far, and no lifts !!!!! the plug was hanging off the wall, the lock on the windows was glued so u couldnt open them. The food wasnt to good either (same menu both nights) i asked if i could order off the other menu and was told NO, breakfast was a lot better than the evening meal. Loved the pancakees. the young male waiter wasnt that bothered in fact he looked like he really couldnt be bothered, not what you want to see in the morning. the health club was really nice but the changing rooms was open plan. swimming pool is to close for 2months. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great overnight stay on Reward Pts Stayed one night in an Exec room on reward pts. Room was clean and inviting but a little jaded, e.g. torn sofabed armrest. Really good shower, large TV, iron and ironing board that actually worked (iron base was smooth and clean unlike so many hotel irons). The reception staff were friendly and helpful.. We asked for a quiet room and got one (Room 234), but worth noting that there were 3 or 4 short staircases to climb to get there. May not suit everyone. The wooden screens at the window were very effective in blocking out sound and light. The hotel lounge area is split into a number of different sections so there are quieter areas if the bar gets a bit noisy. We stay in the Tonbridge area on a regular basis because our sons are at school there. The Holiday Inn is one of the best. What would I like to change: 1) very little at this hotel 2) being able to get breakfast on reward pts. March 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Brilliant time.. Really good from start to finish. Staff very friendly and helpful. Could not fault it. Lovely sports facilities clean warm had a great time. A good package and Leeds Castle was worth a visit. Hope to be back. March 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Value and comfort... keen to do a good job A comfortable hotel well situated of main road links, quiet and comfortable room with attentive staff who seem to be striving to make a positive impression.. breakfast here seems to use decent quality ingredients, good bacon and eggs etc.. would use again for longer if required February 28, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Restaurant The room and cleanliness was fine but the restaurant has a musty smell. Evening meal was of a poor standard and service slow. The waiters were efficient and apologetic for what was obviously a badly run kitchen. I could hear the Chef shouting when the kitchen door opened and the Head Waiter asked him to be quiet. Breakfast was of a much better standard with excellent well cooked bacon. Reception staff were helpful and cheerful. February 11, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by New Years Eve Stay Arrived in the evening time and there was a nice atmosphere. We did ask for a quiet room for later and the front desk staff was happy to oblige. Super nights sleep, the pool and a pleasent new years day breakfast! January 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Family stay When staying with 3 children, it's often difficult to please. We had a great stay - great staff and fantastic facilities. January 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wedding blessing and party My Husband and I had our wedding blessing at the holiday inn maidstone - sevenoaks on the 29/12/12 All the staff were very helpful and friendly and catered to our every need. Kate was a great at organising everything and helping with all the small thigns that as a bride can slip your mind. The garden room was perfect for our ceremony . and the penhurst suite was well suited for our 40 guests. They held a great buffet and there was plenty for everyone and our guests also recieved 20% off at the bar. Our room was lovely very comfortable bed and great room service too . I would highly recommend : ) Helena January 6, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by anonymous Good value for money.More consideration should have been given to warm the room before arrival. The breakfast was good .The leisure facilities were very good/ January 6, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A customer's comments I arrived on crutches and the staff bent over backwards to help me. For example, moving our room so I didn't have to navigate so many stairs. I was very impressed with their kindness and helpfulness. Related to that - a lift would be a rather useful addition to the hotel! The bar staff were helpful and friendly too. The internet access is FAR TOO EXPENSIVE. It's been free in all other hotels I've stayed in for several years now. The taps in the bathroom sink send the water too close to the sink which makes it hard to wash your hands. The air-vent in the bathroom (if there is one) doesn't do much of anything. A slightly more flexible form of breakfast would be helpful. One doesn't always want to spend £15 on a small breakfast. January 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sorted a crisis The hotel accomdation was acceptable, the absence of a lift was noticeable. However when my wife was taken ill the staff on duty could not be faulted on their support and the way they assisted in getting my wife cared for. My wife having been hospitalised on my return to the hotel a fresh room had been made available for me. I cannot praise the staff enough. January 1, 2013
