Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stay and relax and have fun My daughter and grandson came to St. Catharines for a few days and we treated ourselves to a stay at Holiday Inn. It was purely for relaxation away from our daily routines. From check in to check out, we packed in a lot of fun with swimming, hot tub, bowling, dining. The black out blinds ensured that we had a good night's sleep which is sometimes a problem in a hotel. The beds were extremely comfortable and the pillows are even embroidered with SOFT or FIRM. Yummy. Having a coffee shop in the lobby with drinks and snacks was great with a little six year old. We didn't use it, but with a microwave in the room and entrees in the freezer section of the coffee shop and salads and sandwiches, you could even make your own meal in your room. There is also a forest themed dining room right on site. Overall, with just a one night stay, we felt we had had a vacation. All in one stop shopping! Great! And in a few minutes, you can be on the QEW to Niagara Falls or Toronto. November 18, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel and service but not during junior hockey season (Sat. nights) This is a great hotel which delivers good service, nice room, and the hotel offers easy access to highway and local wineries but I would not recommend during junior hockey season (Saturday nights). Funny that I'm charged extra for having a small non-shedding dog but both our dog and us were bothered/disturbed by unruly children running around the hallways until late at night...they should be charged a premium for excessive noise. Also, I was told at the front desk that since I used points for my stay (points cash) I was not eligible for Platinum Elite benefits - I was not aware of this (even though the cash portion was between US$100 - US$200 in addition to points used so it wasn't a "freebie" in any way, and that is on top of the pet premium paid). A summer stay at this hotel would likely be a better choice (except that IHG members won't get any benefits on points bookings). November 16, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Was A good Stay I went to visit some friends for a birthday and was happy to stay, I would recommend. My only issue is the price for a single night was quite high, I stayed in a king executive room which was only 4 dollars more than a standard room, Bring the price down a bit and I would likely tend to travel more often and stay here. The pool was good water temperature was excellent, Jacuzzi was decent too. Staff was pleasant upon arrival and departure, had no issues with room but I was only there for one night and spent most of my time out of the hotel. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by noisy room The biggest complaint was that the room had a loud ventilation fan. When I bought this to the attention of the staff at the front desk, they were not helpful and said that there was nothing they could do. This is an unacceptable response. If I had not figured out that the thermostat turned off the fan and ventilation it would have been unbearable. The problem though was that it meant no airflow for heating or cooling.
