I really like this location as a park and fly solution as the park location is on site and the hotel provides good value in respect to location, room comfort and efficient service. The beds are very comfortable for rooms of this price range. There are never any bad surprises, only the predictable good value. January 3, 2013

Food had always been decent for hotel food, but my last stay it was absolutely brutal I ordered halibut and sweet potatoe fries. The fries werent bad, not great, but the fish was akin to frozen fish sticks One thing I demand when travelling is at least a good sit down meal that at tries to resemble home cooking. I refuse to eat in fast food joints.It doesnt take alot of work to prepare a nutrious healthy meal, and maybe I should have tried something else but my server HIGHLY recommended the halibut. This hotel has laways been clean and com fortable, but their kitchen needs to take it up a notch, even if its only a Holiday Inn. I didnt expect the Waldorf Astoria, but I at least want something that wasnt popped from the freezer to the grease fryer. I hope someone reads this and takes it to task JWM Sault Ste Marie December 18, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Great Trip Hotel It's a great place to begin or end a holiday because the Holiday Inn offers free parking (depending on your stay), 24 hour airport shuttle service, and a friendly, quick check-in service. We arrived after midnight and the shuttle was not long picking us up from the airport. The rooms were clean, comfortable and gave us a good night's sleep. We will return. December 17, 2012

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Check in is the bomb and I mean like bummer! Our reservations where made through a travel agent and all payed ahead in full we where given our receipts. When we checked in the front desk was not very helpful when we told them we did not have a credit card. We said we have no problem with giving cash deposit, and we where told that even though the money was American we would only receive canadian funds back. I asked if the money was being put in an envelope and keept there? I was told yes. So I asked can they just not give us back that envelope? I was told NO ! I also asked why this was not mentioned to my travel agent about the credit card being needed for deposit as it could have been done at the same time the reservation was made?? This would have saved time and then maybe we would have been treated a little bit better as your desk person made us feel like IDIOTS and realy became slow going behind the door and leaving us at the desk. The other tall erogant check in person was able to check in another couple who arrived about 6 min after us and they where on there way to the room and we where still waiting for our check in person to finish up on our room. And all of this was because we gave cash instead of credit card.... Are you kidding me ! TERRIBLE check in service. Especially mad me mad because we where leaving for Panama at 6:00 a.m. so could not get to a bank to exchange funds back into us... Ps: I did not try any of the food so realy could not comment on it but as everything else was about average I also marked that average I would like to have skipped it but this survey would not allow me too. It is starting to look somewhat "dated" , but our executive room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was well presented and more than sufficient to start the day. Kudos to both Javed and Deepika in the restaurant. Exceptionally warm welcome to returning guest and prompt friend service as usual. December 10, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fuzzy Elevators Have stayed at lots of different hotels at various locations worldwide, but the elevators of this location has it's own mind. It's fun experiencing all wierd things that you haven't expected while at liesure, however it might make you crazy when you want to be on time for the business or otherwise. Apart from that, it's hit and miss to get timely service at the reception. While there are three to four guests in a queue, the person at the reception doesn't understand that there is no time for a long duration small talk and finish the business as quickly as one can to attend the next guest. While check in, the reception forgot to provide breakfast coupons that was included in the room rate...Found out on the last day, that the rate did include it...Little too late, isn't it! Since, it's near to the airport quite often there is a inrush of delayed flight passangers. The reception staff or the restaurant is not well prepared to such an event and you might be waiting even longer. Other than that, a typical Holiday Inn hotel experince... Have fun! December 9, 2012

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by My Room I stayed on the Executive level (11thfloor) and when I opened the curtains the pigeons were absolutely awful and the window sill was covered in Pigeon fesis. It was disgusting. I stay at Holiday Inns whenever I travel and I have never had a situation like this. It was really dissappointing. November 21, 2012

Our room smelled either like stale smoke or gross smelling cleaning supplies. The bathroom needed attention for wallpaper pealing, broken tiles, the TV worked sporatically. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Won't be back Very tired location. Felt like I was in an Austin Powers movie - the furnishings were old, and long past the due date for replacement. Very disappointed. I'm a Priortity Club Platinum, and had been traveling all day, and didn't check in til 10:30pm. The room was horribly out-dated, and the tv didn't work properly, which I hadn't noticed, til I'd unpacked everything. I called the front desk, and the staff acted immediately and moved me, and upgraded me to an executive suite. Bed and linens were great, but the room was still very dated. This is a very tired old hotel in need of demolition. November 19, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly, helpful staff Two staff members in particular stand out for me . Unfortunately, I did not get their names. First was the male bellhop who was always flashing a genuine smile and radiated enthusiasm. Second was a British lady at reception who really listened to us and who went out of her way to see that we did not have to hassle with changing rooms or re-booking (I had been given 3 different room reservation numbers). She gave us vouchers and signed me up for the priority club card. November 17, 2012

Either they are incredibly lazy or rude, either way if simple questions are responded with sarcasm and lack of customer service, it gives me a clear idea that this is one to avoid staying with again. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Shuttle Bus I didn't want to write about my experience but since you asked i said it could be useful to talk about the worst experience i've ever had with a hotel in my life. As you can see from my rating above it is not a problem with the hotel premises, it is mainly the shuttle bus driver and maybe one of the receptionests. in brief, after i left the hotel on Sunday Nov 4 at 5:20pm i took the shuttle bus to the airport and from there i wanted to go to the Union station in downtown (by using "express airport" bus# and from there to Ottawa by train #departure at 6:35pm#. before i get into the bus to the downtown i realized that i forgot my iPhone in the shuttle bus of the Holiday Inn. I called the hotel #from the payphone# and i told the receptionest #a man# what happened to me, he said the driver is on his way to the airport again wait for him at the same place where he droped you off. after several minutes i called again to make sure that the driver found the iPhone, at the same moment i saw the bus passing in front of me going to the hotel again, at the same moment a receptionest #a women# picked up the phone and answered my call, i told her immediatly to call the driver to come back to the airport and that i saw him passing in front of me while i'm talking to her, and i told her if he doesn't come back now i will miss my train to Ottawa #it is the last trip to Ottawa at that day so i should wait until the next day and i will not be able to go to work in the morning#. she said i will call him now. i waited for several minutes he didn't show up, i called her again she said he didn't come back to the airport, he came to the hotel in order not to be behind his schedule, now he is coming back to the airport. at the end he came back late, i took a taxi in a hopless attempt to reach the train on time but i was few minutes late #i arrived to the station exactly at 6:35 but they close the gates few minutes before#, I MISSED MY TRAIN. so in order to return home at that night i was obliged to take the bus #Greyhound# at 9:00pm, i irrived home at 3:am just to be at work on time at 8:am. i slept not more than a couple of hours and Monday wasn't my day at work same as Sunday. By the way, I was in the hotel to attend the Part I of the prep-course delivered by "Ontario Pharmacists Association", part II is 2 weeks later #in your hotel too# so i booked my 3 nights in another hotel just in front of the Holiday Inn and it will be a great oportunity for me to share my experience with my colleagues on Nov 23. On arrival, all arrangements were in order, the staff friendly and most willing to accommodate my needs. My room was well cared for and the amenities included were replaced as required. Over my two night stay, I was very satisfied and in addition to the room, the evening banquet I attended was well handled, the food was very good and the staff were polite and efficient. Thank you.
