Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Okay, until... Okay, so I will start out with the good: Check in was a snap, people were nice, bed was comfy and it was pretty quiet. The bad: there was a pair of dirty panties in the trash can in the bathroom-GROSS! There was also dust over most of the computer desk and the back of the resting chair, which to me is a sign of no attention to detail. The awful: I got back to the hotel at about 3am and asked for the late check out at 2pm and confirmed it with the lady downstairs at the desk. Actually got to sleep around 5am and for some reason I had housekeeping knocking at my door at 9am. Not the greatest of moods but actually got back to sleep until ANOTHER KNOCK FROM HOUSEKEEPING at 10:45am! I have no idea why this happened and I was upset and apologized later, but I yelled at the housekeeping manager a bit but he said he did not know why I was getting a knock on the door like that but he would take care of it. I had a twelve hour drive after leaving this property and I did not have a great time. I chose to come back to this property because I had such a great experience last time, and although not a total fail it was pretty close. November 18, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Home away from home I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn Virginia Beach-Norfolk. It is conveniently located off the highway nestled among businesses and restaurants. I simply loved the sleeping rooms, as they were clean and beautifully decorated. What I truly loved about their lobby is the fireplace. I was there attending a conference; however, in between breaks I would go sit by the fireplace. All that was missing was a blanket and a pillow. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great bar service Laurie the bartender is by far the beast hostess in this hotel she caters to every need the customer has and provides top notch and prompt service. I always enjoy Laurie's service and look foward to her shifts at the hotel. Please take care of her, she is truly an asset to this organization. November 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great conference venue This Holiday Inn has been recently remodeled, and it is very nice! I attended a conference there and spent 2 nights. It was very relaxing and I was able to get a great deal of work done after the conference ended each day because of the time-saving convenience of the on-site restaurant Ashley's. Caroline, the server I had, is the best server ever! There are many nearby restaurants as well, but this Holiday Inn feels secluded, even though it's just off Interstate 264. I hope to stay there again. November 13, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Almost perfect. Loved everything about this hotel except the noisy ac/heating unit. After climbing into bed, the ac/heating unit would make a horrible noise and it kept me awake most of the night, not good since I had been to meetings all day and an important meeting the next morning at 6:45. If it hadn't been so late and I wasn't so tired, I would have asked for another room. Everything else was great, I would definitely give it another try. November 12, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by odd staff were friendly and competent. lobby is no doubt lovely. difficult night of sleep, though, with an exceptionally loud air conditioner. still, oddest experience I've ever had in a hotel: sink faucet was far too close to the sink basin. It made it nearly impossible for a person to successfully wash his or her hands. no matter how carefully we tried, our hands would somehow come in contact with either the sink faucet or basin (and often both!). at first it was amusing, but then it became quite an inconvenience. final note: amenities were so-so. no bath gel is a big strike against them. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptional value I was surprised how nice this was for the low rate. One of the most upscale hotels I have stayed in quite a while. November 10, 2014
