Check-In . When booking , head office has my card on file . On arrival at hotel staff swipe card again and add £40 to it . At check out signing done again . All very annoying.
Breakfast cereal and cold juice etc OK . Hot breakfast fair . Overcooked deep fat rubbery greasy fried eggs , poor quality black pudding and why do the galley trogs always fold over the bacon and then half cook it in 2 inches of oil instead of grilling it - they'll tell you its to save space on the pan but its actually laziness . Sausages also not turned properly and underdone . Generally speaking more supervision and cooking training is needed with the scullions in all Holiday Inn hotels .

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Szomo Hotel is a little tired
I only stayed one night and was on business. The hotel was perfectly adequate for my stay but it is rather tired looking and in need of a bit of a refurb. The bathrooms look rather dated but the room was perfectly clean and a good size. Breakfast the following morning was good with a wide choice. - just wish there was more than PG Tips tea on offer!

See feedback comments already made. If an organsiation of your size has experienced damage to facilties especially in the bathroom area this is a must that it is repaired and brought up to a professional status especially in a washbasin as this area will harbour germs and bactieria.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Phil0816 Worst hotel experience I can remember!
From check-in to check-out this hotel was a running joke between myself and my colleague. Check-in began by my being told that I was not allowed internet access (even though I was willing to pay for it) because I was not a rewards member. Managed to sort that the next day. Breakfast times generally went okay, but service at dinner time was terrible. Too many issues to mention them all, but examples include one time when they took our orders then served my colleague with his meal and sides - and also gave him my sides too! When asked, my order had somehow been lost and they just thought he was hungry. To compensate, they knocked the price of a drink and some chips from his bill! Waiting for food and drink orders became the norm - once we even walked up to the bar where our drinks had sat for 20 minutes and got them ourselves.

Decent holiday inn. Think its a joke you have to pay £16 for internet when you can stay in a holiday inn express and get it for free. Thankfully parking was free...

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by 18green Poor value
This hotel is some where between an Express and a full service hotel in that the rooms are Express standard but it has a full restaurant service.During my 2 night stay one of the lifts was out of order for the entire length. Management for some reason didn't think the bar would be busy for an England World Cup game so only allocated one poor girl to look after the area. The quantity of coffee and milk provided in the room was a lottery. And the tariff wasn't inexpensive!

Staff are awesome and friendly!!
Claire on reception
The other bar lads
I'm sorry I forget all the names, but all the staff that dealt with me were fab! Would recommend staying on the strength of the staff!
Hotel itself was ok, pretty much what you expect, and the WiFi will be free in July if their plans go ahead. That would have made my stay even better if I had proper internet access, but had to rely on my phone for internet.
The only moan I had which what amounts to 60 seconds of my life wasted each time, was turning the TV on to watch, you have to wait for the menu system to load then you could press a channel button to watch TV. It would be better if you could just go straight to TV watching without menu systems. I did like the menu system however as you could see your bill charges real-time during your stay. The only other grip about the TV is the menu guide would not always populate the programs that were on so you had to pretend you had time warped back to the 80's and flick through each channel separately to see what was on....I just wish I could have time warped for real, then I'd be a millionaire!!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by florence460 Very Poor
Having stayed at numerous holiday inns, this was very poor. Dinner was the biggest joke, tables not being available despite being booked. Two hours to eat a two course meal. Messed up orders. Half an hour to deliver drinks. Check in was done was a trainee who didn't register my membership card (despite saying they had) so they attempted to charge me for internet. They also tried to charge me on exit for meals that I hadn't had.

Hotel was excellent, staff very efficient and friendly. Room very clean and comfortable. We only had breakfast so it would not be right to comment on the food menu as we didn't use it. Breakfast good. Would stay again if ever in the area.

The overall experience was good. The bed was a little on the hard side. If travelling with children bare in mind this is a double sofa bed - so if like ours your children are not use to sharing a room never mind a bed beware!!!

Great overnight stay. Staff were helpful right from the outset. Smiley faces through breakfast too.
If there were any amenities such as games room we didn't know about it/not told so assuming there isn't.
Recommend staying here, particularly if you have kids. Hot breakfast alone is worth it!
Took board games, cards etc. Kids happy, parents happy. Would stay again without looking elsewhere.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Meg333 Less than average across the board
The bathroom still had hairs in it from the previous tenant and the carpet was grimy and had seen better days.
Staff service was generally good exempt the restaurant where there was an abysmal failure of basic management and service was ridiculous (half an hour for a coffee and up to an hour wait for food).
Besides that there were running arguments in the restaurant between the duty manager and his staff, very unprofessional. management was made aware of problems and had the usual apologies and pleasantries but that did not improve the over all experience.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LCB_Bee Definitely Pet friendly!
We checked in at around 4pm on Friday 16th May, the receptionist’s were very friendly and polite it was just what we needed after a 5 hours car journey. We were made to feel very welcome and whilst we had stayed at this hotel before everything was explained to us. We had brought our two dogs with us and they were also welcomed. Sometimes hotels say they welcome pets but don’t really. Woolston Grange went the extra mile, well done!
Dinner on Friday evening was exceptional we had chosen what we wanted when we were in our room not realising that it was different to the one in the dining room. However, this was not a problem the young man that dealt with us arrange for the food we wanted – great customer service, well done to him for explaining why we couldn’t find what we wanted on the menu. But no drama he just said that it wasn’t a problem and just sorted it out and we got what we wanted. Unfortunately I can’t remember his name but he is a credit to your team!
Breakfast set us up for the day and excellent value. We will stay with you again as long as you stay pet friendly.
Thanks for making our stay so relaxing.
P.S. Great dog walking along the River Mersey just across the road!

We have stayed at Woolston Grange about ten times over the past few years and never been disappointed. The Staff are outstanding, cheerful, and efficient.Without doubt the Breakfasts are in a class of their own, The rooms are spotless and cheerful, and the Car Park is secure and well lighted all night. So far due to circumstances, we have never stayed for Dinner so i can not comment. We certainly would not stay anywhere else if we were in this area.

We stayed at Warrington in December and overall it was a good stay however we raised some issues with the hotel regarding the welcome and basics that one can expect upon entering a hotel.
This time it was clear to see these issues had been addressed.
We were greeted by Sean with a lovely welcome, and he could not have been more polite or helpful.
We entered both rooms after checking in. The rooms were immculate, and the view from the rooms were pleasant.
As the restaurant was busy we had to book a table, but stayed in the hotel bar for a drink and to watch the football (which was no trouble once we asked if we could watch)
The service was fantastic, and there was adequate choice on the menu. The food left a great taste in the mouth. The staff were so friendly and jovial too giving a relaxing atmosphere
Upon retiring to the rooms we enjoyed a lovely peaceful nights sleep, refreshed for the morning.
Breakfast was one of the best I've had at a Holiday Inn hotel, everything was cooked perfectly. I couldn't complain one bit.
After our slightly tarnished last experience around Christmas time, this stay had completely redeemed my full confidence in Warrington and we will definitely be staying here again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sallywt Great Service, clean and comfortable
We were recognised as rewards members on arrival as the staff remembered us from a previous visit to another HI close by.
This hotel had everything we needed and more. Although we were too late for food the reception staff provided take away menus which we could have delivered directly to our room which was great.
The room was warm, clean and comfortable and in a very good state.
