The noise during the night kept me awake for most of the night due to a large a/c unit being right outside my room window. It kept going on and off all night disturbing my sleep. Room was outdated, no breakfast, no guest laundry. June 29, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My daughter's Wedding The location is excellent. Most of what you will need in Wichita is right there within minutes. This hotel has a great staff. Everyone is ready and standing by to help with what ever your need might require. I was there for my daughter's wedding. We had the wedding reception in the south ballroom right off the main lobby. We had a lot of last minute changes and request. The staff there handled it all beautify. You'll never have to look for any one because they are all right where they should be. Standing by to help. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent restaurant The air conditioner was not cooling properly. Room did not get hot enough to request a room change but was very close. Not as comfortable as it could have been. At least one other patron asked the staff to check on his AC unit as well. The hallway was warm (no air at all). We were in room 819 and the other patron was in 816. Otherwise, excellent facilities. June 22, 2014

I was not completely satisfied with the shower (very low pressure) and the air conditioner ran constantly. The hotel is being remodeled so hopefully these will be addressed in the near future. The restaurant food was good however a more basic meal selection would be nice. May 12, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Can't say enough great things about this place I have been in a lot of IHG property hotels across the country and The Holiday Inn in Wichita has blown them all away! I was there for 18 nights and it was a pleasure walking through the lobby every day, the staff NEVER failed to greet us. The front desk personnel went above and beyond taking care of any issues that came up, customer service was the best. I was going to mention them by name but I was afraid I would leave someone out. The rooms were great, the pool and fitness area were also very clean. I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn in Wichita to anyone. Thank you to all the staff for a great stay!!! April 22, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall A Good Experience Pros: Hotel Staff is wonderful! Especially front desk & Banquet Staffing. Very attentive! Great Location for shopping, eating, etc. Beds are very comfortable with plenty of pillows! Love the remodeled banquet rooms and front lobby - a great place to hold conferences and gatherings. Cons: Limited Parking (this is my 2nd year of chaotic parking due to the current remodeling). If you are attending a big conference or mutli conferences are going on, come early! Upper rooms can be a bit noisy if windy - almost as if the AC unit is running when the wind gusts through. Restaurant staff is wonderful during the day - Depending on who is bartending and on staff in the evening, do not expect great service the 2 hours before closing time. Unless you know the bartender and staff that is. All in all, this is a great place to stay! I look forward to the remodeling being completed! April 21, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by The view?? I had a JR. Suite on the 9th floor and I looked out the window to see a courtyard that is the worst I have EVER seen. The outside pool has not been used in years from what it looked like. The cover has ripped and looked like swap water in the pool, the shingles are coming off the roof lines and just overall view is terrible. No parking due to so called renovation. Would not recommend this location to anybody. Look at the picture to see what I am talking about. I did get moved to the other side of the hotel (street view) but no help on the trouble, just moved. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice staff and friendly staff The sign on the door to the pool has wording that is all the same color....green. I do not think people are reading it as in the middle of the statement it says NO food or drinks. I constantly see people sitting around the pool and drinking alcohol. The other weekend I had to go get hotel staff as people left alcohol glasses just outside the pool that I was afraid that children might pick up and drink. Drunks and drinkers are careless. ALWAYS. Around the pool a number of drinkers had their alcohol and one young lady (about 25 years old) was drunk and needed assistance to walk. I know there was a wedding....but, I did not pay for my Master Suite (over $300/night) to see drunks and drinking around the pool. PLEASE put up RED letters on sign that warn "NO Drinks"......these people are pathetic excuses for humans. March 21, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice staff when checking in or roaming the hotel When I stayed in room 804...there was a small hole in the sink + there were cracks going from the hole. When the water got up to the hole....it leaked water on my feet. LOL I did not say anything to the staff because I knew that they were going to remodel all the rooms. However, this might have been fixed with some Super Glue placed into the hole....a little glue at a time until the hole was sealed??? March 17, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Recent Stay The hotel staff was very nice and the lobby is very nice. However the rooms are very outdated and overpriced. The beds are small and uncomfortable. Our hotel room door looked like someone took a pry bar to it and tried opening it. The carpet in our room made our socks extremely dirty. The water for our showers was lukewarm, no hot water at all. Unsure why this hotel doesn't include a free breakfast like most Holiday Inns. This hotel was our only option due to other events and hotels being sold out and we stay in a lot of hotels every year. However, it will be nice to see what the hotel looks like once all of the remodeling occurs. Walking into the lobby I thought that the rooms would look just as nice and modern. That was not the case. The rooms/doors/bath look as if they had not been updated since the early 90's. The beds were comfortable which was great since I was there for a conference, however my door frame was warped so anytime I opened the door to leave for the day, I would wake my husband up cause I had to fight to open the door. Again hopefully by the time the conference comes around next year, the rooms will be a true reflection of the lobby. March 4, 2014

Waited 10 minutes at the Green Mill and did not get waited on or even acknowledged by multiple waiters. I left and got dinner elsewhere. Mentioned the issues with the front desk and they did not offer anything for the poor service and amenities. March 1, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Loud and Outdated Surroundings were loud. I was hoping to sleep in but by 8am housekeeping is slamming doors, knocking loudly and yelling "housekeeping". It seemed a loud motor was running outside my window and my air/heating unit made a lot of noises. The rooms are outdated with peeling wallpaper and decor. The quality of the tv was bad, local channels were very "snowy" and most other channels were not clear either. February 23, 2014

Restaurant had good food, drink prices are a bit high though. Hotel is going through some major upgrades, which all appear to be very nice. I would stay here again. January 28, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor room quality for the price! I have to say we were very disappointed by the quality of this Holiday Inn. The bathroom sink was clogged-----drained really slow! The carpet just outside the bathroom was damp. There was no air flow in the room even when we set the fan on high. The hotel wasn't full & we we're put in a room that was next to a large roof heating system so it made noise in the room every time it came on. They are renovating but are starting with the lobby???? Maybe they should start with the rooms!! Pretty sure I won't be staying at this one again! January 9, 2014

The only knock on the stay was that there was some major renovations going on so getting to the room was difficult. This information should have been made available to us. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Keep Families with small kids on first floor We stayed at this location twice over the recent Christmas holiday season. Only complaint was from our return trip back from Texas to Iowa. Unfortunately, we had to request a move to a different room after 1 hour of being in our initial room. Already unpacked and trying to wind down to go to sleep and the room above us became a race track and jungle gym for several kids. We found out 2 families, both with kids, had adjoining rooms and the kids were playing together. We called the front desk and they did tell the folks to calm down after about 5 minutes and stopped by our room to offer another room down the hall. They said they could not guarantee the other room would stay quite with both families having kids so close by. We had to repack all our items and move down the hall and unpack a second time. I know kids want to play until they drop. Just don't put families like this on the 6th floor and then put other folks, especially folks who actually want to sleep after 9pm under or around the same room. Either put them on the first floor or sacrifice filling up the room under them and the adjoining rooms for the sanity of your other customers. Your floors and walls are not very sound proof so have mercy on those of us that don't have kids traveling with us. December 31, 2013
