After finding free rooms at the Holiday Inn, my wife and I were extremely pleased with the value and quality of this property. The desk staff were great and went out of their way to help us resolve issues with our previous hotel. They also provided great directions and help in getting around the city. October 7, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Experience The staff was cold and unfriendly. They spoke politely but you could tell they were not being natural about it. They did not do anything extra to answer any of my questions even when they saw I was confused about the services the hotel offered and general area around the hotel. Even the slightest hint of goodwill would have changed my opinion of them but they did nothing to help outside their job requirements and I mean here that a simple kind explanation would have gone a long way. The air in the hallways (at least on the 4th floor) had a lingering burning smell like some electrical equipment was overheating and nobody from the staff seemed to notice as it stayed that way until I left. The room was cold all through the stay and adjusting the temperature by following the instructions in the room brochure did not help at all, the warm air did not start at all during my sty. The internet connection was advertised as being "broadband" but the connection was really really bad. The internet service even stopped working completely all of a sudden around 11 PM. When I called reception they explained that the internet company was there modernizing the equipment and connection. As this sounds like a planned outage, it should have been announced so all guests would expect the internet not to work - that is just common courtesy. After the connection was available again, there was absolutely no improvement whatsoever in the speed of the internet connection. It was impossible to watch a video online or do any real work using it. I felt like I was back in 2002 when broadband was a joke. Lastly, for an international destination such as Zurich, it would be nice if hotels such as this one would put up more signs in international languages. For example, the sign for the subterranean parking lot was particularly confusing for me. I truly hope somebody will analyze this feedback. September 17, 2014
