Our stay was very relaxed even though we were only there one night. The room was clean and very clean. The service was very good. I feel it is a relatively new hotel.

The staff were friendly and the hotel was well-appointed. However, this new Holiday Inn Express definitely has some shortcomings. First and foremost, the wireless internet connection was appallingly slow in the early evening. It was only when I was up in the middle of the night that the speed, even though still not fast, was at least acceptable.
The water supply had a sulfur odor, which was readily acknowledged by the hotel, and free bottled water was provided. However, the flushing efficiency of my toilet was anemic.
Lastly, the TV remotes were problematical for both me and my father, leaving us to assume that this was a hotel-wide situation.
All in all, our stay was not a wonderful experience for either my father or for me.

Great hotel, great staff. But it took me over 30 minutes to find it because Garmin (updated just before the trip) said it didn't exist. The GPS on my Droid got me pointed in the right direction after I gave up on the Garmin. So if you have doubts about finding it, call ahead and they will tell you which exit off I-35 to take; it's very near the exit.
I would have given them an excellent rating but the tap water smelled very strongly of sulfur. It may be a city water problem but it made for an unpleasant shower experience. I was given a bottle of water but really should have had more..

Got to get a better hot breakfast selection..those eggs are horrible and sausage two days in a row?cinnamon rolls are good though. But thanks to Andrew, we ventured out to 112 on Broadway and to the Casino 15 min away..south in Iowa..had a blast. He also was awesome by returning my phone charger I left behind..thanks Andrew. You are a true professional. The rooms and the bed were totally wonderful.

They accommodated our every whim...ESPECIALLY Andrew. From recommending restaurants to mailing my phone charger back to me. He made up in kindness and knowledge, for the lack of things to do in the town. Even recommending the Diamond Jo's Casino, 15 minutes away. You really should build a restaurant right in the building. The room was really clean too. It still looks brand new.

The Albert Lea experience would have been rated "excellent" overall but for one glaring omission. NO TOWEL RACKS. The decor and food and beds were all great but when you have to pile your towels on the bathroom sink counter, guess what, they're damp in the morning! Additionally, it felt very weird not to be able to "hang up our towels" in a tidy fashion.. Perhaps, they are back ordered?

This is a very good hotel to stay at. The last night was somewhat hampered by the running feet above our room. IT seems that the people above us were keeping their young children in shape by having them run wind sprints after 9:30 PM and well into after 11:00 PM. No I did not call them or the hotel staff. I do not think it is up to the hotel staff to control someone elses children. I was going to go up myself or call the room however it slowed down and I was too tired by the after 11:00 PM time that it did not seem to bother me. I was watching a hockey game for some of the foot races above.
The breakfast was a little challenged by not having a delivery come in for new supplies. ( No yogart on any of the two AM's we were there for breakfast) The pancake machine was not working on Mon AM however I did not try it on Tues AM assuming it was not working. I will still stay there again when in Albert Lea on my next trip there. The staff was more than willing to help me every time I needed assistance. I have stayed there before and had no problems.
