rooms and property were clean and comfortable. some confusion with bookings and room keys being disabled, but everything was sorted out nicely.

I go out of my way to stay at Holiday Inn b/c I get consistent, clean, comfortable quiet rooms. This one however did not live up to my exectations at all. I am not sure I would pick the same hotel again, I would consider staying at another one for lower price nearby. They did say they had only been in business 6 months but I hope they are doing a renovation and that they aren't going to keep it like it is now. The decor was horiffic! It wasn't like the other HI express's I have been in. The carpets were dirty, stained (in hallways, elevator) the over all cleanliness of the facilty was far lower than I get at others with this brand name. The breakfast was almost empty when we got there before 9 AM! I pointed this out to the attendant and she said "Well it ends soon at 9:30" I told her that it was 8:50 AM and not onoly myself but others after me still deserve the same breakfast items we paid for as the people in there at 6 AM! The was about one small scoop of eggs and no pastires restocked and she was trying to clean the eating area - as if to get out of there early. She argued with me instead of just rushing to make more food! She said "well the eggs take 15 minutes to cook" I pointed out to her that others could still come down after me and sure enough they did! I was really unhappy that she wsa letting breakfast food run out 40 minutes before breakfast was due to end. Someone else was busy mopping the front entrance and around the main desk at 9:15 AM...which made the floor all wet during a high traffic time when people are all checking out. I am sure they could do that in more "Down" times with less activity. The hallways were VERY dirty...stains and crumbs everywhere and it was the most awful geometrical design - everything looked worn and old. It was awful! I still stayed at HI in other towns since then and was pleased so I don't understand why there is this one place that was so "one off" but since they are representing the Holiday Inn brand, I think Holiday Inn better step in and do something because they are not doing a good job of it. THe staff was not very professional - we heard one of the cleaners say swears right in front of us b/c she forgot something and had to go get it. I won' t stay at that Holiday Inn express again. They also were the most expensive in all my traveles and didn't afford me the typical AAA discount. Terrible experience. Others, I do recommend like the one in Manchester NH that is outstanding!

Seems as if this property was understaffed on a holiday weekend (Memorial Day). The wait to check in was longer than our usual experience, because the desk clerk was busy dealing with a guest who was complaining extensively about his room not having been cleaned. Our room did not have a "Do Not Disturb" sign, so housekeeping woke us up the first morning. We got a sign from them later that AM so the second morning we were able to avoid the wake-up knock on the door. The breakfast area was pretty much the scene of a locust invasion - virtually zero food when we got there. The single staffer working that area did do a reasonable job of restocking the food as the morning wore on - but the pancake machine remained out of order. The fruit selection was minimal when it was replenished. Some of the common area especially near and in the elevators was excessively stained and dirty. All-in-all, this was probably the least satisfying visit to a Holiday Inn Express that I've experienced, and I'm a relatively frequent guest at HI Express.

I am often in this area and always choose this hotel. Its always clean and the staff with one exception if great. The shorter older man at the front desk is always confused. EVERY time he is there he messes up my reservations, keys and anything else he touches. Talking to the other staff I am not the only one this has happened to. He gave me a room that was not yet clean. The cleaning staff was not happy. With this one exception its a great place to stay

We went to New York to see Tim McGraw at Darien Lake. We are from PA so we needed a hotel and found the Holiday Inn Express for a pretty good rate so booked a room. Check in time is 3 pm. We got there at 3:30 pm and there were 4 groups ahead of us waiting for rooms that were not cleaned yet! We waited and got switched from room to room 4 different times! Finally when we got keys to a room an hour later it was time to get around and drive to Darien Lake for the concert. We had no time to relax before the concert after being on the road all day! Never again will I stay at that Holiday Inn Express! They didn't have a clue what they were doing at the front desk.

We loved our stay at the Holiday Inn in Batavia. The hotel is spotless; the room was spacious and comfortable. The location is excellent in that it is close to many amenities. I want to say a special thank you to the very helpful front desk clerk "Kevin" for all the help he provided to us. Good job Kevin! Holiday Inn - you have a gem!

I've stayed at this property twice & both times the front desk staff has been so friendly and accommodating. The property is tucked away safely & secluded, clean & quiet. Rooms are spacious, clean & comfortable. I look forward to many return visits!

The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with many things to choose from and again the attending staff was very pleasant and friendly. Location was perfect for us to shop and explore the area.My husband and I agree we would choose this hotel again should we travel to Batavia.

MAJOR billing issues- still have not been resolved after 4 tries.

another room had a toilet that sprayed all over the toilet seat and wall when flushed

We have stayed in every hotel in Batavia and this place is amazing. Clean and beautiful decor. Little store to purchase food. Bathrooms elegant and modern. Comfortable bed. Nice breakfast area with good food. Very friendly staff. Only complaint was a chilly pool room with even colder water--but the little ones still swam!!! Have paid twice the rate for hotels that do not even compare with this one!!!

I was appalled, to say the least, and totally grossed out, for lack of better words, when i pulled back the bed covers to go to sleep and found numerous short black hairs on the pillows and within the sheets. I went to the other bed only to find numerous long blond hairs on the pillows and within the sheets. I immediately called down to the desk and was told I could change rooms. At that late hour, undress and ready for bed, the last thing I wanted to do was get dressed, pack all of my belongings up and move to another room. I chose to sleep on top of the bed, with my clothes on, but needless to say i didn't sleep well being so upset and disgusted by the whole ordeal. I spoke with a manager who told me she could compensate me with points, but only 5000. I thought my troubles were worth much more than that, however, was told that was the maximum allowed. To date I still have NOT received ANY points. I am very unhappy with this whole situation.

We stayed here on both legs of a round trip to the East Coast. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and good-sized.
Pool is a bit chilly. And the breakfast "meat" choice of sausage gravy wasn't a very appetizing choice.
Would definitely stay here again.

This holiday inn express in Batavia, ny is absolutely beautiful! The decor is so modern and fresh, the rooms are spacious and modern! So bright and so clean! The staff was very accommodating and the breakfast buffet was excellent! My daughter especially enjoyed the pancake maker machine! What a breath of fresh air that new hotel is--the other ones in Batavia need to step up their game in order to compete!
I would definitely stay there again--looking forward to it, actually!

I have stayed at Holiday properties for many years and being a Gold member proves that. I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at Batavia-Darien Lake and was bot happy. The heat did not work properly...it was 26 degrees out and the heat would never room temperature would never get above 63 degrees. The hot water in the shower was luke warm at best and the internet did not work. When I brought the above to the management they didn't seem to care so we ended up having a terrible nights sleep due to being cold...had a worse morning due to no hot water and overall very dissatisfied. The staff here needs to be retrained by HIE !!! I will not recommend this hotel !!

On a busy football weekend, this was as close to Buffalo as we could get on short notice, but we had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at this site. The hotel was very clean, modern, and quiet. Terrific appointments and amenities throughout the hotel. The staff was especially professional, helpful, and courteous. The beds offered superior comfort. Excellent breakfast choices as well. I can confidently recommend this hotel for the traveller or business person looking for high quality accomodations outside the city.

Overall was very nice and confortable .Just opened. Breakfast was good. Although the second morning they were out of fruit/bananas. The second stay there was no shampoo in the bath. The Front desk was not able to bring one up at all. I had to go down in P.j.'s to get one at 6:30 am. I was told no housekeeping comes in until 9:00am. Other comperable hotels have housekeeping there 24/7 if needed.

I've rarely done these reviews. I travel a great deal for my company and found this HIE one of the best I've stayed at. The contemporary design & decor was exceptional with a brand neew fitness center. The treadmills are newer then the ones at my health club.
Great HIE...great value.

This property has only been open for about 2 weeks. We stayed on the coldest night of the year so far (28 degrees). Each room has an air/heating unit under the window, and another thermostat on the wall. Neither unit worked in the first room we were put in. The poor desk clerk was the only employee on the property on a Friday night at 7:30 p.m., and she couldn't leave the front desk to check out any problems. The person who was in charge of maintenance was in Erie, PA, hours away. She had me try another room, and she said that it was the wall thermostat that should be working. It wasn't working in the second room, either. We then went to the business center to print our boarding passes, and the printer didn't work. The clerk was able to come to the business center, but she couldn't solve the problem. Luckily, we decided to try the second computer, and it actually worked. The first computer wasn't even hooked up to the printer. When the clerk came back, she was relieved to find out that we were able to print, because the maintenance person (who she called in Erie) said to tell us to walk across the parking lot and ask to use the business center at one of the competing hotels. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! We went out for dinner, and when we came back, our room was freezing. I went back to the second room, and the wall unit was working, so we switched rooms at 9:30 p.m. and had a restful remainder of the evening. This hotel should not be used by anyone until all of the opening bugs are worked out!

The shower recessed ceiling light was hanging 2 feet into shower, with shower water running. The room was not cleaned - bed, towels, etc, as houeskeeping claimed they could not get in room?
