Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not a good experience Upon entering our room it reeked of smoke. We immediately turned on the air conditioner to get some fresh air. The air conditioner was extremely old therefore we then had smoke smell mixed with musty smell. After an hour of getting showered and ready for bed we pulled out the sleeper sofa for my daughter to sleep on only to find a cigarette under the cushions. We are not a picky family, all we want is clean, we did not feel that expectation was met here. The staff was very nice yet the price that I was given on the phone did not match the price I had to pay. I pulled up my reservation email and it didn't have the price I was quoted so I blame myself for not making sure I was given the quoted price so I paid $30 extra. June 4, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Generally good hotel/Heat/AC problems The location is convenient for the city of Beatrice and is the nicest hotel for miles around. We stay at this location every other year when we are in town for the Christmas holidays. We were disappointed few years ago when they removed the hot tub, but the pool is still nice. Breakfast is always plentiful and fresh. My only complaint is with the heat/ac on our last visit. No matter what the thermostat was set at the heat ran constantly if it was turned on. We had to use the A/C in the winter to get the room cooled down. The fan never cycled off and on like it should have. We ended up just getting along with nothing turned on, that seemed to be the most comfortable. We mentioned the problem to the staff, but they did not do anything about it. January 8, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best place to stay in Beatrice, or Nebraska! This Holiday Inn has absolutely the best staff around! The managers reception every Mon-Thur, is a good way to relax after a hard day at work or traveling. I travel on a weekly basis, and this is one of the most friendly places I visit. I stop by for a few days every month, and have never had a bad experience here. They know me by name every time I check in, and is one of the few places I travel, and the staff is so nice and friendly. The rooms are always nice and clean. Compared to the other hotels in the area, this is the only place to stay. The only way this place could be better, is to have bacon on the breakfast spread every morning. November 19, 2013

Only items to mention that needs some attention is the difficulity I've had with your wireless connection. I have stayed at your hotel six times and had problems signing on with my iPad. It would work at other sites, hotels. But that was just a minor inconvience. Very nice hotel and personnel. October 11, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by lobby gathering We have stayed with you many times over the past several years,but were disappointed with the drinking and eating of the large gathering in your lobby. All of the chairs were taken, we who were in town for a reunion could hardly pass through the lobby to reach the parking lot. This group occupied the lobby both Friday night and Saturday night - and the football game they were watching was over by Sat night. We, as former residents of Beatrice, were also Nebraska football fans and were unable to see the game in our rooms. Fortunately, that group did not interfere with our rest. September 28, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel The hotel is very nice. It is clean and modern. The only negative was the breakfast. There is not enough seating for breakfast. On both mornings we had to sit in the pool area because the breakfast area was full. Also on both mornings the staff had a hard time keeping the breakfast items stocked so people were always standing around waiting for items. We also had to ask for liquid coffee creamer/half&half each morning as they only had powder creamer (awful) on the counter. We were told at one point that they only were using the powder but then the little liquid individual serving cups appeared. The breakfast experience detracted from an overall pleasant stay. At other IHG hotels we were greeted with bottled water, candy or offered something to show that they recognize you as a valued and repeat customer. When we checked in again on August 12 (tonight), I asked about water or cookies. I was told that is only during the week days. August 12, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendliest Staff We stayed with a group of softball team families during Homestead Days. The Reception Manager made evey effort to put our families next to one another in room blocks. She greeted each of us warmly. In the evenings, our group gathered in the lobby to socialize and eat team meals and the entire desk staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. It was terrific. The breakfast service was wonderful, and the ladies who organized and prepared it were so friendly and asked about our games, offered to fill water bottles for the players, etc. the housekeeping staff were very friendly and worked around our rain delays, allowing us to get in and out of the rooms as needed, whlie still managing to do their jobs well. I would highly recommend this hotel to others, especially groups. The staff is top notch! June 22, 2013

After traveling on the road with so many less than nice drivers, it was very pleasant to be treated so warm and sweet. Keep up the great work. Rushing out the next morning, I grabbed a warm cinnamon roll and a hot cup of coffee. Just an all around good night stay. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Always Pleasant I stayed here in February for 2 weeks and it was a exceptional stay and stayed here again during this stay and again very exceptional except for the room I had smelled of very strong stale urine in the bathroom and like the bathroom had been mopped with a urine dipped mop. Very unpleasant but there was not another King suite with fridge and microwave available so I did suck it up and survive. One of the housekeepers had her son with her as she was cleaning the rooms, I felt maybe better attention could have been given to the rooms had her child stayed home or with a sitter. Every other aspect of the stay was exceptional and here I am again staying here anothe rweek. I would recommend this hotel. May 22, 2013

Despite the fact that it is a Holiday Inn we did not expect such a great experience in a small town. The staff was very friendly and professional. The happy hour was a welcomed addition to our trip. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing In addition to not have warm water after the first few minutes of my shower, the bathroom lights seemed to automatically turn off. So I was cold and in the dark and the lights wouldn't immediately turn back on despite my efforts of waiting and flicking the switch. I was disappointed that we didn't have a refrigerator in the room, but another guest told me I could ask for one, this despite telling the front desk we needed a crib (so we obviously had a baby with milk and juice needs.) I was also disappointed that we were not given adequate towels. If we say that 4 people are staying in a room, then we should have enough towels for everyone and not have to ask for this as well. She was extremely friendly and her welcome was heart felt and genuine. I enjoyed talking with her when I came down to get some appetizers from the food buffet. When I stay away from home I tend to keep to myself and rarely feel comfortable striking up conversations with strangers but with May it was as if she was a friend I hadn't seen in some time. I thought that she might be in a position in which she doesn't always hear how much she is appreciated or how her work makes the guests feel welcome, so I wanted to make sure she was commended for a job well done. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by 12/11 Guest No restaurants or stores within walking distance. No shuttle service. 1st night Manager Reception was nice. Second night not so much due to lady controlling the beverages output. Definitely the "nicer" place to stay in Beatrice, but this was definitely the most old/outdated Holiday Inn Express I've stayed at. If no restaurants within walking distance, then Shuttle Service should be offered to prevent guests from drinking and driving. December 19, 2012
