Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BobbieEmily A great stopover for the Tunnel
If you are travelling to France and want a stopover right by the Tunnel you couldn't do better. We regularly use this hotel as we know exactly how long it is to check in. The hotel is clean, comfortable and modern. Easy to find and with plenty of parking it is ideal.
My only quibble is the breakfast which is bland and lacks quality when, for example, compared with Premier Inns.

It is probably the nearest hotel to the channel tunnel and therefore most suitable for early crossing or late arrival.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Yeahman Terrible value - Not worth the money at all - very poor pet facilities.
We arrived to find a fairly full car park. I checked in and when we went to the room. It was at least half the size of the room that we had previously had on the other side of the tunnel when we did the journey from Munich last year (a different Hotel chain).
The bed was far too small (Queen size at best even though we booked a double, and the word SUITE had been mentioned during the phone conversation I had with them after booking!) , as was the toilet/shower room. The television was barely the size of a portable TV with very poor quality sound, and no free internet.
Once we had the dog and our stuff inside I went to the reception to take advantage of the "order food from our restaurant and take it to eat in your room" offer that was advertised on a card in our room. The receptionist then proceeded to tell me that this offer was not available at this particular hotel (she could not answer why the card in my room said it was!), and we could only eat in the restaurant in person, whilst leaving our dog alone in the room for the 1.5 hours plus it would probably take. Then she clarified that there was an issue getting seats in the restaurant anyway as it was already virtually booked out for their entire dinner time duration, even though we arrived in the afternoon. At this point it became clear that the hotels amenities are FAR too small for the traffic they handle.
I ended up walking for about 10 minutes to find the SeaFarer chip shop down the road past the Tesco's, and I have to say it is the best fish and chips we have EVER eaten. This was the ONLY highlight of the stay at the hotel.
We went to sleep at about 10:00 as we had driven for 12 hours and had a further 4-5 hours more the next day. I was awoken at 23:30 by people returning to their rooms - and the noise continued constantly for approx 45 minutes. Apparently the walls are made of the thinnest possible material with absolutely NO sound absorption capabilities After 45 minutes the noise was enough that my Wife also awoken, so we took the dog for a walk and discovered that there are just some small strips of grass by the entrance - no proper areas for the dogs to be walked. Pet Friendly - Really? My dog barely had space to turn around in the room, and teh room was far too warm as well.
At this point we realised that we were not going to get back to sleep as the hotel had a steady stream of people arriving and very noisily making their way to their rooms, so we had a shower in the incredibly cramped bathroom and then we checked out (this was at 01:30 in the morning).
When I settled the bill I was then asked how I wanted to pay, cash or card - even though I had booked the room on a card (and naturally assumed that it would be taken directly form this). I produced the card to then be kept waiting while the network decided if it was indeed going to work or not. This wasted another 15 minutes but eventually my card was indeed debited for just under 120 pounds. A ridiculous sum of money considering the total lack of rest and relaxation provided, and the abysmal facilities this hotel offers. There have been several advertisements received for a loyalty card. When I am treated like a valued customer, then I would look at loyalty cards. This was VERY POOR showing from Holiday Inn.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by RayH12345 No Breakfast Supplied
Although my wife and I booked and paid for a take away breakfast at an agreed time of 3:45am. When we asked at reception we were told that the didn't have time to prepare it for us. When asked for a refund for the breakfast we were rudely declined. We hadn't eaten the night before due to late arrival. And nowhere to purchase food that time in the morning. A pretty poor show Holiday Inn Express
I have emailed their customer service, but no reply so far. But I had no end of email to join their loyalty club. If you want loyaly treat customers like customers not like someone that needs something they had paid, but are not interested in sorting it out.
Maybe I get some positive feedback from their customer services.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Gaz41 Service and staff were brilliant.
The staff could not have been more helpful and were still bright and cheerful after a long shift. Thank you for your wonderful attitude you are a credit to your company.
Could not get to the breakfast room due to a large bus party so had to skip it. This was due to the room being so small.
Facilities were clean but well worn, I wanted just a little more luxury and a convenient breakfast for the price I paid. However, it is convenient for the port and I think this is what they charge for.
Could have stayed in Ashford for half the price.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sassy32 Very Pleasant Stay!
Stayed at this hotel for one night, perfect location for our trip on the Euro Tunnel. The hotel was modern and fresh and we had a most pleasant stay! Abbie at Reception was most helpful with her local knowledge and the children had a lovely time at the local adventure playground. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by oldbloke72 Only downside to the stay.
The stay was as expected for Holiday Express Inn, good room, adequate bar and a good breakfast. The one thing missing is FREE internet connection, in all areas of the Inn. This day and age the internet should be available and free. My only grumble ! !

Excellent choice of hotel with Holiday Inn consistent reliability. I especially like Holiday Inn's reward points program, which allows you to pay part of your hotel costs with points, if you don't have enough points to get a fully free room. Concierge recommended a FANTASTIC little Italian restaurant--Luciano's---not to be missed if you like old-school, family style Milano Italian food. Only drawback was no free internet in-room (available in lobby), but that seems to be a consistent theme in European hotels.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Gpkjazz Exactly what was required
Arrive late, leave early - all you need is a comfy bed and silence, no frills required. The pre-pack breakfast was a super idea so we were on the Eurotunnel and on the move within an hour of waking up.

Perfect place if you need to make an early start for the tunnel.
Secure parking, comfortable and clean room with a good breakfast selection. Got a good nights sleep.
Only stayed the one night, but that's pretty much what the place is designed for. Will definitely book again.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by JB44 Good overnight stop for tunnel
Very convenient for an overnight stay prior to catching an early train to France. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had the evening meal in the hotel and probably best to say it was adequate if somewhat basic. Breakfast was again adequate although somewhat limited ie. sausages, scrambled egg (a bit dried up) and baked beans. Nevertheless for the price it was acceptable. The staff were cheerful and willing. I would use the hotel again for a short stay.

This is a basic hotel under the Holiday Inn brand but it is the best hotel for the channel tunnel. The beds are comfortable, the staff we came across very friendly and breakfastwas included.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rachel14 Room was comfortable, relaxing and cleaned to a high standard
We stayed for one night before traveling the following day to Disneyland Paris. It's the first time we had stayed at a holiday inn express and were very impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of the room. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering to arrange an evening meal for us, even when we arrived late evening they offered to order a takeaway for us. Good choice of breakfast options. I would highly recommend this Holiday Inn Express to all my friends and family

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TheCrows Great Service and Friendly Staff
We stayed here as a stopover before heading to France on Eurotunnel, it was easy to find and about 10 min drive away from the tunnel. We were welcomed by friendly and helpful staff, explained where everything was and procedure for breakfast. The room was a small family room but all we needed as we would only be sleeping in it.
The Bar/Restaurant area was open plan, with not many seats in the bar if you only wanted to have a drink rather than eat. This would be my only grumble but thats being picky.
Breakfast has limited hot food, sausage, scramble egg and beans. (can't remember what the 4th item was but it wasn't bacon) Warm pastries, toast, cereals and yoghurts. All self service. Overall I would recommend staying here.
It was also close to a large Tesco's which we popped into to get snacks to take with us on our journey into France.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GrumpGramps Pleasant experience
Stayed with you 25 May on our way to France and was pleasantly surprised. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Check in was swift and easy and only took a couple of minutes for the whole party to check in unfortunately for the staff a lot of guests arrived at the same time so they were rushed off their feet but coped well. Evening meal was good and breakfast was a lovely choice of continental or my favourite english. All in all we were well looked after by staff who were polite courteous and smiling at all times and seemed to enjoy what they were doing. a big thank you from all of our party. The only downside was the lift was out of order but legs were made before elevators.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by REJ1984 Welcoming, Friendly,Excellent Location
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. The staff are friendly and professional without being stuffy and the hotel's location is excellent with easy links to the Eurotunnel terminal. A supermarket just up the road is ideal for filling up before the crossing. The breakfast also has a limited hot selection which is an added bonus compared to basic juice and cereal options. The rooms were clean and comfortable

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by impsomewhat Very friendly staff and comfortable beds
As frequent travellers to Europe via the Tunnel, we stay often and thought it time to comment on the first rate staff and comfortable accommodation. No matter what time of day the staff are always welcoming and cheery; an early start means you are offered a packed breakfast if you are checking out before 6.00 am.
We have never had a bad nights sleep here despite often arriving after a 3/5 hour journey with the M25 throwing it's worst traffic at us. A secure car park too and with staff on reception all night this adds to the good nights sleep I'm sure!
Excellent value for money and we'll be back.
