Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DrKiko great staff. very close to eurotunnel.
I tour with bands and I use around 50 IHG hotels a year. I used this one first time last week. It's a great location very close to eurotunnel.. The staff was fantastic. A truly gentle welshman was at reception who cheered up my bands before going to europe.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Vixie123 A great night's sleep before travelling in France!
Honestly - you couldn't ask for more. We arrived exhausted, had a great burger and good night and a really good breakfast. The staff couldn't be more helpful. Just a word of advice - if you are travelling with your dog it is worth phoning to check that they do have rooms available for people with pets. Obviously dogs and owners cant sleep in ANY room and they have 5 designated for the purpose. It was fine for us, but they did suggest that next time you do ring to confirm. Have a nice stay!

We were tired on arrival and our spirits instantly lifted - the manager was nothing short of excellent, couldn't do enough for you. Ideal place for a single night on the road at a good price.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wesi1910 Ideal for early morning Channel crossing
We often stay here the night before an early morning Eurotunnel crossing. My request for a quiet room and top floor has always been fulfilled, if I remember correctly and most of the staff is very friendly and attentive. The night shift can be a bit grumpy occasionally so I tend to aim for a quick checkout.
The rooms are clean and the mattresses usually quite comfortable.

After driving for over 7 hours almost non-stop across France and a rough 90 min Channel crossing, we were looking forward to our stay at Holiday Inn, Folkstone and we were not disappointed.
Having stayed at other Holiday Inns before, we knew what standards to expect and were glad to be welcomed by a nice young receptionist.
Our room was very comfortable, warm and cozy. Getting to sleep presented no problem at all.
The free breakfast in the morning was tasty and very palatable.
All in all, as expected, we enjoyed our all too brief stay. but we shall stay again on our next trip abroad.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Fersanchi Very poor heat air conditioning
Very cold room. The heater did not work properly and it was so cold in the room so we could not sleep well. Of course do not think about going to the toilet in the middle of the night because you could become frozen.

We have previously stayed in Holiday Inns in Canada and found them to be very satisfactory and this was no exception. It was conveniently located for the Eurotunnel terminus, the room was good and the breakfast satisfactory and adequate

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Traveler 93 lack of wifi and good coffee
I use the Ashford hotels for travel across the channel, I find the lack of wifi very frustrating as wish to check travel conditions. The lack of good coffee compared with the cheapest of French hotels is dire. Cheap French hotels also supply free wifi?

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Spagbol123 Perfect hotel
Stayed here for one night while visiting friends so just needed a comfortable place to sleep at the end of the night. The hotel rooms are simple but spanky clean and well designed. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Great choice for a straightforward budget hotel which delivers on all fronts. Don't have any niggles whatsoever.

Just ideal for pre- or post- cross channel stay. Best overnighter I've had in Dover / Folkstone area. Comfy bed and pillows, quiet room and - booking early - great value.
Staff particularly knowledgeable and helpful for this class of hotel.
Only room for improvement would be the coffee....

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by dal5 Pet Friendly
This is a great stop for either going to France or coming back. Part of the attraction is that it is advertised that pets are accepted. Many guests like ourselves have a dog with them. As dogs are not usually allowed in hotels, to be left in the rooms, perhaps a little larger area for eating accompanied by your dog would be better .Also an area for dogs to "exercise" would be appreciated. All in all a very good stopover

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by T1946 Superb facilities but .........
This hotel was superb in all respects except for one thing. Dogs are permitted to stay in rooms and on entering ours we could smell a doggy odour and there were black hairs on the floor. Because the hotel was full we decided to stay put and we did have a good night's sleep. During the evening when we made use of the excellent bar and restaurant area we saw at least a further 3 dogs on leads being taken to rooms... there may well have been more.
Surely, if the policy is to allow dogs to stay in the hotel, which rooms they use should be known to all staff & guests, so that those guests who suffer with an animal allergy or who do not wish to use those rooms (smell/hairs, etc) can be offered alternative, un-tainted rooms to avoid using the 'doggy' rooms.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Juscopin Christmas at Holiday Inn Express - Folkestone
This is the second Christmas my wife and I have stayed at Folkestone Holiday Inn. The room was comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was basic, but plentiful and appetising. I would have liked friend eggs to be available. Two observations are that there were few cuboards for storing clothes, and no drawers. But it was adequate for our needs. Also I could not connect to Radio 2. (I should have mentioned that to the staff, I'm sure they would have been receptive.) Overall a very positive experience!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Whistleblower All good
Newer HI Express, excellently positioned for Channel Tunnel (only 5 mins to Check-In for tunnel). Lots of parking & very clean throughout. Eating area rather small but OK - it would be a challenge finding a seat when busy! Staff let the place down a bit with too laid back attitude when I checked-in with family late in the evening after a long drive - yet again I had to seek a drink voucher/extra points voucher upon arrival as it wasn't offered/included in Check-In pack!!! I am getting sick of asking; should be automatic. All in all a good HI Express but could be so much better, especially as this is probably the first stop after a long journey to Folkestone by most people who will stop here re: their next morning departure to France - the welcome should be more friendly & 'holiday-ish'

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Michael1403 Great staff and they allow dogs to stay
Good stay again, great value. Staff really dealt with no kitchen on Saturday night helpfully & displayed customer care.
Charge for dog a little high, in my experience people can make much more mess than 1 small terrier type dog. Thank you.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Doddies Easy and cheap and only 3 or 4 minutes drive from the Tunnel
Stayed the night before heading through the channel tunnel at 6.00am the following morning.
Family room for family of four, including 10 and 8 year old, was ideal - easy and cheap and only 3 or 4 minutes drive to the Tunnel. Would definitely recommend to others who are thinking of doing the same.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Weekender15 Very comfortable beds and the staff gave a good service
We had trouble finding the Hotel even with a Sat Nav, would have been easier finding it if we have the number of the road or the signs for it was more noticeable when you come from the motorway, so spent an hour going around in circles.
Once there, our stay was good, very comfortable beds and the staff gave a good service. The only criticism would be the temperature in the room, as it was early December it was cold and the heating in the room did not work, we had asked at reception, which they said they would “unlock it” but still too cold.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by jamess115 A reasonable hotel for a short stay
I stayed at this Holiday Inn Express in Folkestone for 1 night during a weekend while on a business trip and I would say that the hotel is good value for the money. The breakfast was good and the bed was comfortable. It was also very quiet at night although this could have been due to the fact that the hotel was less than half full.
A few observations: There is no way to control the heating in your room. It is automatically programmed to 'Central Heating mode' and it was cold overnight. So much so that I had to sleep with two duvets. Also the shower is very poor quality with no water pressure and the TV is no bigger than a computer monitor. Also, outside of my bedroom, there was a lorry or recycling truck doing the bins at 6a.m which woke me up. However, all in all, for the price it was a good stay and i would stay there again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fulltimegran Ideal for Channel Tunnel
Travelled down from Staffordshire on Friday evening for Saturday morning Train. Good price for a room for 3 and a great night's sleep followed by breakfast and a quick trip to the Channel Tunnel which is right next door. Usual reliable service from Holiday Inn Express made our weekend so much easier.
