We stayed at this hotel the night before we were due to fly out to Australia so we really needed a good night sleep before we went as it would be the last decent sleep we would have for a couple of days. Wasn't disappointed, we had a great sleep. The only downside was that we had to pay £6 for overnight car parking which we had to pay at reception, that's the only negative, however, considering what we paid to stay at the Holiday Inn Express, we can't really complain too much. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent value for money Don't let the fact that this hotel is situated between a motorway and an airport put you off staying there (even if, like us, we were not jetting off somewhere) as we did not hear a thing - we thought the airport had shut down it was so quiet! From the reception staff to the waiting staff and housemaids they were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast menu was average and would probably meet most visitors needs but the meals on the evening menu was of questionable quality and poor value for money (my Steak and kidney pie was bland and dry) which was a shame as it spoiled an otherwise great experience and prevented me from giving 100% positive feedback. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Gone downhill! Stayed here before a couple of times and has comfortably done the job either before or after a long flight. Seriously needs a spruce up. Seen better days. Cleanliness of lounge area requires looking at. Was supposed to be a family room with Double and Single bed. Room so cramped two people could not walk past each other. Personal hygiene, dress and manner of gentleman who checked us in at reception was embarrassing. Will not be back. December 4, 2014
