Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overnight visit for Sporting KC game Really enjoyed my stay. Facility was as clean as I expect a Holiday Inn Express to be. Room was great. WiFi was fair in terms of signal strength, but I can't complain about it being free. The breakfast was decent though perhaps just a bit below the average I expect at a Holiday Inn Express. Overall, I highly recommend this location and will plan on staying here again. Close enough to easily walk to Sporting Park for a soccer game. Even closer to Legends shopping center. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient But Some Challenges We stay here regularly when visiting Kansas City. This is a high volume IHG location due to its proximity to Legends, Kansas Speedway, etc. The overall quality remains good and the staff is friendly. It seems the facility could be more proactive in preparing for high guest traffic. There is always a deficit at breakfast no matter what time we visit the area. Our choices are limited and there is no fruit, meat and sometimes completely out of everything even cinnamon rolls. We have been to extremely busy HIE hotels that have to use two breakfast staff, but the last patron that visits the area has all food choices. This site is showing some wear and tear and will need some renovation. We hope that IHG addresses these challenges so that we can remain loyal to this site. July 27, 2013

Than I could not get on interent so I went to the front desk to ask for help with the code they give you to get on the interent. The lady said that was the code and than asked another lady if her code worked, which made me feel like either I was dumb or a lier. So I called the support help phone number that pops up when you try and log on to the internet and they gave me the correct code it was a L not a l. July 3, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay and Location. Will stay here in the future. I stayed for a girl's weekend. This location is close to Legends Outlet Mall, Target, and multiple restaurants. There were multiple breakfast options like breakfast burritos, omelets, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and the normal cereal/yogurt option. The breakfast staff was very kind and accommodating. The room was comfortable and clean. We used the pool as well, however the hot tub was broken. (Pretty disappointing when you step in and expect warm water.) The only negative I would have to give for my review was that the front desk staff needs to give out the appropriate end time for breakfast. On days where the hotel is not at capacity breakfast ends at 9:00 although we were told 9:30. The bonus was that when my friend and I headed down shortly after 9:00 the breakfast staff apologized and helped us find something to eat. June 23, 2013

However, our plans changed, and we added two more adults to our group. The front desk clerk after learning that we had 4 adults and 2 very small children (sleeping in pack-n-plays)went out of her way to get us an additional room that connected with another room so we would have plenty of room. Add she gave us coupons for free appetizers at a restaurant that we going to be eating at later that day. May 9, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by water problems first evening hot water was luke warm. first morning hot water was extremly hot and cold water was hot. second and third evening hot water was also luke warm. second and third morning cold water was actualy cold like it should be. hot water was hot one minute then cool, back and forth. The room was ok. all the lamps were unplugged so I had to plug them in which was fun while it was dark. refrigerator was not plugged in so I could not use it the first day. April 10, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by NO WATER When we arrived there was no water. We called the receptionist and were told the water lines had been worked on prior to our arrival. She stated the plumbers were supposed to turn the water on before they left. Guess the plumbers left before the water was turned back on. It took multiple hours (3hr or more) before our room had water. The water issue should have been addressed by the staff at check-in. The staff should not have allowed the plumbers to leave the facility without ensuring the facility had water. A lot of things could have been done differently...instead the staff did little to nothing. April 5, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not great beds For the price that we paid for this hotel you would expect great beds. I would call them very mediocre at best. The hotel was OK but lacked the quality you would expect for rooms at that price. The location is good and I am sure that is why they can demand the price they do but quite frankly I will try one of the other hotels in area next time and hope for better beds. March 21, 2013

Re: the hotel itself, it's about average for a newer HIExpress. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Nice people, terrible hotel Staff was friendly, yet, very unhelpful. When asked how to fix the heat in my 54 degree room, the response was "that's weird." And nothing came of it. Not only was the room a chilly 54 degrees, and took hours to get up to a normal temperature...the air that came out of the vent smelled like old musty socks. However, in the workout room (that had 1 treadmill, 1 bike and 1 elliptical), heat was not a problem - at a soaring 95 degrees, you got a good sweat just standing in there - and no option to turn the air down. I thought the gremlins were trying to come in via the bathroom fan, because there was an incessant knocking when the fan was off, and the only way to make it go away was to leave the fan on - which is an extremely annoying sound. If I did not sleep in the very middle of the bed, I thought I was going to roll off and the bed was going to break with any move that I made. Finally, after a long day of travel and working, I wanted to relax and watch a little TV, but my room had access to only 5 channels, and one of those was in a different language - thank goodness I brought my Kindle. I have stayed at better Holiday Inn's in VA, FL and MD, for a much better price and was thoroughly disappointed in this experience and will not return. January 21, 2013
