Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and service On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who proved to be friendly and courteous throughout our stay. We were on a shopping trip and found the city centre is within a 5 minute walk - excellent for those of us who prefer to preserve our energies for wandering in and out of shops and cafes! Although the hotel is next to a very busy roundabout, inside the hotel itself it was very quiet. We decided to have our evening meal in the hotel on our second night and can recommend the Chicken, Leek and Ham Pie which was excellent. . June 14, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent experience Stayed here while visiting grand-daughter at Lincoln university. Lovely and clean, nice comfortable room. Very friendly helpful staff. Well placed for university, cathedral and shopping. Highly recommend the Holiday Inn. Will certainly be back for another visit. June 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great stay My sister lives in Lincoln so I always choose this hotel. I know what to expect from HiExpress - a clean comfortable room. My only criticism is the toiletries. I hate coconut fragrance. Other HiExpress use Dove and Lux etc. I would rather have unfragranced toiletries than coconut. Apart from that I had an excellent stay June 7, 2013

The food is the normal express standard which I have no issue with but never amazing. I would like some bacon at breakfast but that is just me being a little picky. Overall really good hotel. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasant, clean and conveniently placed We enjoyed a 3 night stay at this hotel. I do get annoyed to be charged for parking though when it's not really a town centre hotel, but a 10 minute walk away. Breakfast is sometimes chaos and a smile from some staff would be nice instead of making me feel that they can't wait for breakfast to be over. Plenty to eat though. A two sided queuing system that meets in the middle at the OK Corral Toaster is not a good idea. It would improve things if the toaster was relocated as a separate queuing area. Other guests agreed with me on these points by the way. Bar grossly over priced. As a priority club member, my one use only card for the bar for a 15% discount was disappointing. As I was there 3 nights, I felt 3 uses would have been better. It was only about £1.20 off 2 drinks anyway. Room was clean and comfy, bit stingy on coffee and tea makings, 1 cup each per day. Beds were ok, my mattress had obviously been crushed and I felt myself lying in a bowl, not great for bad backs as I have. Overall though, a pleasant stay. Reception Staff were great. May 12, 2013
