Shuttle service from and to the airport was quick and efficient. Free car parking a bonus. Hotel room was spacious and clean, staff attentive, breakfast was very good. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great access to airport We chose this hotel due to it's close location to the car rental place and airport, and due to the fact it has a free shuttle to the airport. I worried that being close to the airport would make it a noisy place to stay but this wasn't the case. We got good advice about a really good nearby shopping centre. The nearby Sizzler offers a good value for money dinner and there are other food shops within walking distance. We spent the afternoon relaxing in the pool which was warm and well maintained. If you are hoping to get to your room quickly, allow extra time as the elevators are extremely slow. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent choice We planned to visiti LA on holiday and we decided to stay at HIE because we arrived from a longhaul flight and the hotel is 2 minutes from LAX airport. The staff is well prepared. The hotel is clean. Rooms are large and well equipped. The only thing that I would suggest is to change the air conditioning machines which are noises. The complementary breakfast is served in a large room and the staff is ready if something finishes. The swimmingpool and the spa are really confortable after an entire toursit day spent in Santa Monica (10 minutes driving) or Hollywood Boulevard (30 munutes driving). July 12, 2013

The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was the best we have had at any Holiday Inn Express. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Hidden Gem! My mom and I arrived to the hotel five hours before check-in, but were generously checked in early at no extra cost. The check in process was simple and smooth, and the front desk attendant was beyond courteous. She gave us little bags of complimentary water bottles and granola bars, and couldn't have possibly been more hospitable. My mom and I greatly appreciated the early check-in, as we were exhausted from the early morning drive from NorCal to LA. The snacks were a pleasant surprise, and we ate them as soon as we got settled in our room. The room itself was an all around winner. Clean, comfortable, spacious and quiet. Bathroom was very clean and spacious as well. Well-stocked with toilet paper and clean towels. High-speed internet was easy to log into, and reliable. (Unrelated to the room, but I greatly appreciated the business room, as it made it possible for me to print out banners for the concert we came for!) The free hot breakfast in the morning was amazing for a hotel in this price range! Pancakes, cinnamon buns, bagels, biscuits, toast, yogurt, scrambled eggs, milk, juice, coffee... I didn't expect there to be food at all! Even though the dining room was packed, there was still room for my mom and I to sit at the little lounge in front of a TV broadcasting world news. The breakfast was delicious, and more than sufficient for the drive back home. All in all, this was definitely the best choice for my mom and me. The hotel was easy to find, parking was easy and the drive to downtown wasn't bad at all(even on a Friday afternoon!). The surrounding area seemed to be mostly residential, and felt very safe. Not picturesque, but we didn't mind at all. The airplanes were fun to see so up-close, and they weren't a disturbance while sleeping. If you're looking for an affordable, practical place to stay in LA, definitely keep this hotel in mind. Great value! Hard-working staff! The desk attendant gave me a lower rate than what I had booked, simply by me just asking. The room was very quiet, which was a surprise because of its close proximity to the airport. The entire hotel was clean and comfortable. Access to a printer in the business office made airline check-in easier. I highly recommend this hotel.. a great value. July 7, 2013

I have a massive tool case that needs to be back in Los Angeles and to send it home was not feasible in any way for five days/ The general manager, Carlos, allowed me to store my case for the week in his office, and I will be picking it up when I fly back in on the eighth. Because of this hospitality, the overall cleanliness, professionalism, and general hotel itself, I will always stay at this hotel when I am staying near the airport. We get a suite and the boys have their own TV and sleeping area, and we have our privacy and can watch what we want. We use the shuttle service from the hotel to do the actual airport pick-up and drop-off. July 5, 2013

Breakfast room very busy but understandable in a high turnover hotel close to the airport. Shuttle is able to drop you off at a nearby bus station for connecting buses to nearly everywhere in LA. We went to Santa Monica for a dollar per person each way. Also went to Del Amo shopping mall for same price but got a cab back for $40. We would stay here again. July 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place for a business traveller with a car I travel to Los Angeles 3 or 4 times a year, and when I do, I stay in this hotel whenever I am arriving at LAX on a late evening flight or if I am flying out early in the morning. This hotel is a few blocks farther away from the airport than the other hotels - it is tucked into a residential neighborhood, and that's a good thing because it means it is quieter and you do NOT hear the planes landing and taking off so loudly like you do in the other hotels which are too close to the runways. The staff is very friendly, the hotel is clean and well maintained, and best of all the parking is free, self-parking - no valet. Other hotels in the area have valet-only parking and they charge you for parking - and some of those overnight parking fees are outrageous - so the easy come-and-go aspect of free self-parking at this hotel suits me much better. Also, there are not really any dining spots near this hotel, except for a Sizzler around the corner, so having a car with easy in-and-out access gives me the freedom to eat where I want - again, at the other hotels in this area, getting your car from the valet takes forever and hinders one's willingness to venture beyond the hotel. SO, if you have a car with you on your trip, and you want to easily explore area restaurants beyond the confines of your hotel, then stay here! And if you don't have a car, they DO have a shuttle bus that runs regularly to and from the LAX airport. July 2, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by disappointed!!! The moment I stepped in the lobby to checked in I already asked myself If I made the right choice . There are no guest in the lobby except for 2 receptionist and the concierge. The 2 receptionist seems to be busy with the screen in front of them not even giving a greeting. a simple good morning will do!!! I talked to one of the receptionist for check in and she seems so disinterested!!! She said its too early to check in and I said fine will come back! We have 5 big baggage and I have to take the hotel "trolley" to our car so I can haul the bags to the concierge for storage ... oh and yes, nobody from the staff care to ask if i need help. Will I come back to this hotel? NO! Service and staff friendliness always makes the lasting impression on me and this hotel has not given me a good one although the rooms are not bad at all. The shuttle worked very well for getting my kids to their midnight flight as well as getting me back to the hotel. The room was very quiet and clean. When we went to check in at this Holiday Inn and my husband asked if they offered a government discount and the gentlemen behind the counter said no. My husband asked if there was something going on that maybe prevented them from offering a discount and the stafff member just replied back with, "no, I just can" meaning because he didn't want to offer it to us he didn't. Every other Holiday Inn we stayed in offered this to us and because we didn't have any options and it was late we stayed and paid the price without the government discount. I will say that because of that two nights later we needed to stay in the same location and we choice a different hotel chain, they offered us a discount. June 21, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Room Odor Our room at this HIE was definitely not up to the usual high standards we have come to trust with this hotel chain. Our room smelled bad, reminding us of a mix of urine, mildew and body odor. Time for a major cleaning or renovation. The pool and hot tub close at 8:30 pm, so not much use for evening relaxation. Will still stay with the HIE chain in the future, but never visit the LAX Airport HIE again. June 21, 2013

Very disappointed after flying in from a 11 hour flight that the airport transfer shuttle didn't turn up and I was left to get a taxi who wanted a minimum of 20 bucks. I did follow the process and phoned through requesting the pickup but after an hour I gave up and got taxi. Room was ok and breakfast was basic. Not really a fan of plastic cutlery or paper plates though ... would rather HI Express charged a little extra and provided cutlery and plates. The hotel staff was OUTSTANDING, from the nice lady who made my reservation to the night manager who checked me in to the general manager who took time to chat with guests in the lobby. The room was spacious, well appointed, spotlessly clean, well lighted, and entirely excellent in every way. The ONE problem was the long delay waiting on the sidewalk outside the airport for the free shuttle, which came after about an hour and ten minutes (explanation: the driver was "at lunch"). I should have been told that initially and I would have taken a cab, because I was exhausted after a full day of airline travel, Nevertheless, the hotel was well worth the long wait, and I will venture back again (and again!); but I will never stand on the sidewalk waiting for a shuttle that long again. This HI Express was perfect - they picked us up with their shuttle and whisked us quickly to the hotel. The staff at the hotel was really helpful - they accommodated our every request.
