I rented a room for my friend using my points and this is what she said: My friend rented the room for me to get away and have a relaxing night with his points. He is a premium member. The check in lady kept asking me if we were related and told me that I could only stay here if we were. She also told me he would have to be there to check me in even though my name was also listed on the reservation. She would not accept my military id as proof because she said they are not allowed to accept government ids as proof but she accepted my driver's licence. However, my license has my maiden name listed and when I tried to explain that my name had changed she kept asking me what my last name was even though I had to tell her multiple times. (I use my maiden name and my married name but without a hyphen#. After about 15 minutes she said she finally had it fixed in the system and could check me in. My friend #who was on the phone making sure everything went ok# asked me to make sure I received a bag for his membership and when I asked her about it, she stated that she could probably make one up for me. After finally checking me in, she gave me the key and told me about breakfast in the morning before dismissing me by looking down at paperwork on the desk. I never received the bag my friend told me to get. After checking out my room #which had a slight damp odor but was clean# I left to get something to eat. Upon my return the lady who had checked me in was leaving. I asked the new lady at the desk about my bag and she reached under the counter and said oh sure we have plenty under here and handed me on. I just felt like the lady who checked me in was rude and unhelpful in every possible way. I have stayed at the Holiday Inn many times and my friend is a frequent user of this hotel but her attitude has me seriously thinking about returning. When I told him about my treatment #minus the parts he heard) he was shocked as well.

The carpet in our room was clean but very stained. The bathroom really needs updating. Brighter lighting in the bathroom and sink area would be helpful. We were in Room 401.

no where in your web info does it state that you are a "no carry hotel". Posted on your front doors is a sigh that states the "No concealed weapons allowed". Your parking lot sign states that you are not responsible for lost or stolen items therefor if I leave my gun in the car there is a good chance that it will get stolen and if I take it inside I violate hotel policy. Guess which one I chose.

I've stayed at this property several times over the last year. It's starting to get a little run down. Needs much work in the common areas and the rooms. New paint, new carpeting, etc.
One thing I don't like as a business person who travels very frequently is to have my credit card charged in full at check-in, then being required to check out the next morning to get an itemized receipt. Not very professional, when every other hotel I stay at gives me a receipt under the door the next morning. Guess I have to find another place to stay in Myrtle Beach.

I requested a late check out for noon. I came back before noon and my room was already cleaned up. I still went in, didn't mess up anything, just had to waste time before my next appointment. While i was in the facilities i began to get repeated knocks on the door. When i finally came to the door and was leaving, a tall guy began giving me the third degree. I told him i had requested a late check out. He told me it didn't MATER! This is an older property rooms aren't that clean. I'm a platinum member and will not be staying here ever again. This guy was so rude it compelled me to write a review.

Arriving to a cool room. The last few nights at HIE's, the room was hot and I had to wait for the air to kick in and cool the room down. This was comforting.
The bed was very comfortible, the staff was friendly and greeted me as a platinum guest. Heck, he even kept my bag behind the counter while I ran out to get a quick biteto eat with a beer so I would not have to go to my room right away.
It was a very nice hotel. The only problem is it is away from the main areas, and that may have to do with Myrtle Beach design.
I would stay again if in the area.

We sincerely enjoyed our four night stay at this Holiday Inn Express. The entire staff was very hospitable and eager to serve all of our requests. The hotel location is perfect and the grounds well manicured in a very scenic location. The proximity to attractions, restaurants, and shopping is a real plus. We will definitely return to this establishment.

After staying at the Crown Reef, Oceanfront hotel for 2 nights, this was like heaven to us! The rooms were soooo clean, the hotel was spotless and the beds slept wonderfully. We were able to relax, sleep well and know that when we came back from a show or shopping, that we had a nice, clean place to do so. The breakfast was wonderful...the best breakfast we have ever had at a hotel for free. The staff were not talkative at all or friendly enough to talk to you as you walked by, but they were not mean either. There was a guy working the desk at night and he would just look at you when you came in for the evening...not greet you at all. I found that a little out of character for a hotel staff member. Otherwise it was a wonderful experience. I had never stayed at one of these chains before, but if everyone is this great, I may consider it again the next time we travel home...if we can afford it! They are pricey.

Lady at front desk told me breakfast starts at 530-10. I came downstairs at 545 and nothing was put out, no coffee and breakfast ladies were in the back standing around laughing up a conversation.

This hotel was good and accessible. Further away from the beach than expected.
Clean however, the carpets in the rooms definitely needs to be change. Old and stained and makes room appear dirty even though room was properly cleaned

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights last week. The hotel is near to broadway, but anyways you have to drive so does not matter if it is 1 mile or 5 miles. The beach is 1 mile away from here too.
The hotel is very old, first the room I was given was having a very bad stinky smell and you just cannot stand in the room. So the folks have to move me to a different room. There the refrigerator was making squeaking whistle all day/night, so have to bear that. On top of the the toilet got stuck 2 times (not once..) and there were no maintenance folks in the building or available to fix it either. So the best they could do is to provide you a plunger.. and you can guess the rest what I need to do to have a nice room.
At 2 times, the key won't work. Probably by mistake, they checked us out a day earlier itself, so the housekeeping lady also did not showed up till 4 PM. So we had to call front desk to get the room clean.
The breakfast is ok types, typical list of HI Express items, but everywhere you can see the quality was poor. And whatever you ask to refill (like butter, cream etc# from the breakfast managing lady, she have same answer .. 'we ran out of it'.
So the overall experience of this hotel is very poor, I would recommend to better stay at beach itself, or go further couple of miles away#if price is a constraint# to find a better serving hotel.
Btw, I have spent about 100 nights in last 1 year in Holiday Inn at various places.

Nothing friendly about this place... No smiles, no please and thank you's which is very odd... I always have great time at your properties.
On the third day, when our room finally for cleaned, we didn't get any shampoo refills. Asked the cleaning lady for shampoo, she said she didn't have any... Went to the front desk, they wouldn't give me any, referring to "we will bring it to ur room"...never did.
I left my laptop on the bed, and came back to my bed sheets not being changed because "I had items on my bed"... Really?

My stay was wonderful. Breakfast was great. However, the breakfast time should have been an hour longer and when certain food ran out the dining room staff should've continue replacing the food, instead of saying there wasn't anymore. Also my grandson and niece, were missing some items. My grandson's slippers and my niece sandals.

A group of us decided to go to Myrtle Beach for the 4th of July Holiday and this turned out to be the best trip ever! The staff was extremely helpful and check in/check out went smoothly. They did a great job of accomadating the group and putting our rooms in close proximity of each other. We stayed for a total of 5 nights, and our rooms were cleaned each day. Breakfast was good, everyday there was a different option. The location was GREAT! We were just a short 5 minute walk to Broadway at the Beach across the street and a $5.00 cab ride to the beach (or a bit longer walk about 4-5 blocks down). We didn't need to rent a car because everything was so close. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definately stay again. Thank you for making our trip so memorable!

The rooms were clean. Staff was courteous and helpful. Room sink was very small. Breakfast dining area was not nearly large enough to handle the number of guests. Breakfast was a free-for-all with guests trying to reach the single hot food station. Inadequate seating and tables to eat. Tables not cleaned until breakfast hours were over. Hotel had 2 computers and during my one-week stay one of the computers was dead the entire time. The other computer appeared to have a virus. Beds were very confortable and my family slept through the night with no disturbance during my stay. Outside pool was nice. Exercise room was nice and clean. Parking lot was more than large enough to handle the fully booked hotel.
