Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Poor houskeeping. I was very disappointed in the housekeeping service that occurred on Sunday. I left around 9 AM for breakfast hoping that housekeeping would clean my room while I was gone. They did some work but did not give me any clean towels at that time. I was wanting to spend the day relaxing and watching the Indy 500, but could not since I kept expecting housekeeping to return with clean linen. I finally called housekeeping around 5 PM and asked them to bring my towels, which they finally did. I was very disappointed that the hotel did not have enough towels to furnish the room when it was first cleaned. May 29, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by One night stay I stayed at the holiday inn express this past weekend in the King whirlpool room (for my man's birthday) and I must say, I had a pleasant time! The front desk was very professional as well as the parking garage attendant (came with two separate cars and was charged for one car ;) ) The lobby area is very bright, warm and inviting. My only gripe was that I left a charger behind in my room and was told that they didn't have a lost and found (Really?) and to give my information to receive a call back which I didn't. Next time I'll be sure to give the room a intense look over before leaving. Overall, this is a nice hotel that I would stay at again. May 29, 2014

The room was clean, the front desk staff were down to earth & friendly, the parking lot crew were nice & the continental breakfast was generic. The only problem was that our bathroom door did not close, but since we were only there for the night we didn't bother reporting it. May 28, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by I-95 Be aware that the Inn is about100' from I-95 we were unaware of this and when we went up to our room there were two chocolates and two sets of ear plugs as our room face the interstate. Suggest you request the river side if you want to sleep. Also they charge $25/day to park in their parking lot. May 15, 2014

Our visit to Philadelphia was great from beginning to end. We will continue to use this hotel on future visit to CHOPS. The hotel was clean and very comfortable. We had concerns about the hotel being by the bridge and highway but we never heard any traffic. We were able to get needed sleep before the hospital visit. April 28, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Pleasant Stay at Holiday Inn Express’ - Penns Landing Although it was a short stay (1 night), I truly appreciated the Holiday Inn Express’s convenient location to I-95 and my destination. I was quite pleased with the hotel's cleanliness and the staff’s courtesy interaction when I arrived after a challenging day on the highway. After a long day and drive, it was nice to walk in and see a welcoming smile as well as a blazing fireplace. What a feeling of warmth and comfort! Kudos to the Monday evening’s parking lot attendant for his random act of kindness to a weary, senior traveler in the rain. Once inside, the young lady at the front desk (Monday), RoseMary was just as pleasant and helpful. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was quite comfortable. The room's “vestibule” entrance gave a feeling of home since the "living area" was not immediately visible to anyone passing in the hotel's corridor. Thanks to the morning front desk attendant for pointing me in the right direction which allowed me to reach my training destination in a timely manner. I do regret that it was a short stay but I am looking forward to a return visit to tour the nearby historic attractions. Next time, I will be requesting a room with a view of the river (smiles). Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly Staff and Clean Room We stayed here because we were going to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and they gave us a discount on our room, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was good also. The only thing I would suggest if staying here is ask for a room in the front of the building. Not only is the view nicer in the front but the rooms in the back are closer the the highway and you will listen to cars and trucks passing by through out the night. If that sort of thing doesn't keep you up then either room is fine. Overall we were happy with our stay. April 11, 2014

However there were guests across with a dog that kept us up...Maybe pets should be on a different floor if possible. Breakfast was good. .Good variety....Great way to start our morning.......... Some problems with Comcast TV connection ... still highly recommend this hotel ... breakfast is terrific ... for those who complain ... this is standard Holiday Inn Express breakfast and what you would get anywhere. The noise from street and bridge came through and made sleep difficult. On a high note, Kara made sure we had a stress free trip back to the Amtrak station which I thought went above and beyond. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Why do I keep coming back here??? I have now stayed at this property 4 times. I will admit that the first visit was wonderful. The hotel was relatively empty, I was upgraded to a Jacuzzi Suite overlooking the Ben Franklin Bridge and had a wonderful experience. However, it has steadily gone down hill since and I find myself asking why I keep coming back. I guess it's in the hopes that I will have the first experience again. The hotel is noisy, messy, dirty and continually runs out of breakfast items. The latest trip was more of the same, but with a few new wrinkles. I was staying three nights. Upon arriving, I find that one of the two elevators is out of commission, but with a sign stating that it would be fixed the next day. I was staying on the 10th floor and my first thought was that I needed to allow extra time in the morning, but since it would be fixed, no big deal. The next morning was as expected (slow), but manageable. Coming back at the end of the day I find that not only is the elevator not fixed, but the other elevator is taking forever. I assumed that it was just the number of people, but after finally arriving and getting in, it took 40 minutes to go from ground to 10. The elevator stopped at every floor, opened the door, waited 3-4 minutes, then closed the door and went to the next floor (door close button did nothing). Going down, same thing. The front desk ended up telling people that they could use the back stair and gain entrance to the floors, but that the front stair would only open on the ground floor. Next... even though 10 flights of stairs were proving to be quite a workout, I decided to use the fitness center. I found two broken treadmills and a broken recumbent bike. One treadmill was stuck on "pause" and would not unfreeze while the second only cycled between 1.5 and 3.0 mph every 30-40 seconds (and had loose belts). The center control column on the bike was broken and almost laid in your lap. Some enterprising person tried to shim the column into place using folded paper cups, but the handles still banged your knees making the bike impossible to use. Giving the hotel the benefit of the doubt, and thinking that they didn't about the fitness center , I went to the front desk to tell them about the exercise equipment. The response was that the equipment was "a little rundown". I asked about the elevator status as the manager was walking by and after sounding shocked to hear about the 40 minute elevator rides, he said that he'd call my room to "make things right". Needless to say... no phone call and I spent the next two days taking the stairs. I stay at about 30-40 IHG properties a year and this has to be the worst managed property I've been in. It's too bad really, it's a great location with a wonderful view (if you have a river room, you don't want to stay facing I-95). But at this point, I can definitively say that I am done here. I won't be back. March 26, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good room, friendly staff, unprepared front desk The room was clean and comfortable. The windows could have been thicker -- street noise was not entirely blocked out. We arrived at the same time as a group of people attending a wedding and the single person on duty at the front desk was overwhelmed. As a result, it took nearly one hour to check in and even then we were kept waiting for bus tour tickets ordered with the room and in the end just gave up and went to our room, collecting the tickets when we went out later for a stroll. They let us arrive early, held our bags and provided us our room key when we got back from the flower show. the location is a little off the beaten path, but they do provide a free shuttle service. Our room was on the highway side, and between the highway and the air conditioning unit - it was very noisy and difficult to get a good night's sleep. March 13, 2014

One out of two elevators was broken (on a Saturday no less) which was quite inconvenient. Long waits especially trying to get downstairs during checkout time. Also the fan/light in the bathroom was extremely noisy. the bed was very comfortable, room nice and dark. We used the shuttle to get to the wedding we were attending which was quite convenient. The complimentary breakfast was pretty awful, including some horrible coffee. March 12, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable beds and excellent service Stayed here in conjunction with surgery and follow up appointment at Will's Eye Hospital. The discount rate for Will's Eye patients is very reasonable. The complimentary shuttle was a real help to get us to the hospital; however, we had to get a cab for the return trip as the shuttle has limited hours. We were able to use it to and from for the appointment the next morning. The staff was very polite and helpful to us. The breakfast room was large with plenty of seats and a nice variety of food and drinks. March 11, 2014

What I really didn't like was the fact that I had to pay to park in their parking lot. That should be included in the price of the room. We had no trashcan in the room and the hot water ran out before I was done with my shower. Would really liked to have seen a lounge. We had a large group and had to meet in the room. March 10, 2014

We were in town for the commissioning of the USS Somerset, even though the hotel was pretty much at full capacity, the staff was very attentive and the breakfast was great!. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Short Stay I was here for a quick stay. For the value it's perfect. Now... need alternatives for the traveler that arrives late and does not have were to go for F&B. If not providing water in the rooms at least offer them at front desk. Rooms very clean...EXCELLENT! March 5, 2014
