Hotel needs some updating. Carpet is worn and elevator buttons held on by electrical tape. Location was good; room was reasonably quiet and staff was very pleasant. With limited options in this area, would recommend but you get what you pay for.

Location at Gunwharf Quay is excellent, so the hotel has to be recommended. However, almost any competition could have a detrimental effect. Corridor carpets are stained, with fraying apparent at some bedroom entrances. Two lifts installed, but only one operates, and that does not inspire confidence, the control panel being patched/attached by duct tape, and the button for reception floor being decidedly 'wonky'.. Breakfast is pretty basic, indeed overall mediocre. Not an inexpensive property for what it offers, but its location is the clincher. It would be good were another chain to open in the complex, for this could improve standards.

Nice friendly welcome from the staff and all you would wish to get from a Holiday Inn Express that is in an excellent location on Gunwarf Quays, ideal for shopping or the Ferry. Only down point is the poor quality of sausages and no bacon at breakfast, the sausages taste as if they contain more breadcrumbs than meat , but this is standard throughout this chain, not just at this lovcation.
