Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service, comfy room and friendly staff It's the second time we have had the pleasure of staying in the hotel, the room requested I had spoken to a member of staff about had been out into place and our room was comfy and a nice place to chill out after a hard days shopping. Friendly staff, Shaun was on the front desk he was helpful as well as another young lady. We had a nice breakfast each morning, the staff worked hard to clean tables and keep the Buffett well stocked. We look forward to coming back in December 2013! December 7, 2012

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location Hotel is smack bang in the middle of the outlet shops and restaurants. Parking is accessible but you need to get there early and park as it gets really busy. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, some slight noise from outside. Didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on choice,or quality. November 19, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Breakfast included. Close to shops We had a fab stay here for on night after seeing a band at the pyramid centre(5 min taxi ride) we loved that the hotel is right In the shops and restaurants and that you can park for 24 hours for free. Would stay again. November 17, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 3rd + stay Disappointed due to inability to control disruptive guests We have stayed here before as a family on several occasions and have always found it quiet. I booked 2 rooms for myself and 2 friends to have a shopping weekend and lunch/dinner etc. From the moment we arrived we had to listen to the worst swearing ever through the wall, constant door slamming and the sound of banging against our wall and shouting for hours. We complained and the lads next door were warned twice before going out. It was obvious it would be worse when they got back. Staff said they would patrol. We had to phone twice in early hours as more comings and goings and swearing, shouting banging. Other people complained. We were given a £58 refund in total for 2 rooms that were already more than the usual price despite pre-booking, which considering we had no peace opr sleep and felt unsafe was disgusting. I am disappointed that they thought it o.k to put 3 women next to 2 rooms full of lads. Perhaps they assume all single parties just want to have a rowdy time. I had never stayed on the ground floor before so wonder if this is kept for people they think are partying. We just wanted to shop and have a nice meal. Also, the excuse that they were soldiers on a reunion didn't conjure up any sympathy, my first husband was in the army and this is not an excuse to totally disregard others and behave in an anti-social manner. Staff need to be more assertive to stop regular customers from going elsewhere. 4 warnings in total and sorry believed each time and another chance given. Cleanliness, decor etc. of room, however, was faultless. November 16, 2012

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great South Run We chose this hotel because of its location and I was entered in the Great South Run. I arrived very early by ferry from France and was welcomed by a receptionist wityh a huge smile. We knew that we could not check in , but she gave us all the information about parking etc. The accomodation was clean, and I was amazed with the choices for breakfast. I will not hesitate to rebook the next time I am in Portsmouth. November 5, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service and comfort. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff seemed really polite and helpful. We were a bit disappointed with the breakfast though. The English breakfast consisted of very dry scrambled egg, beans and sausages. No bacon, mushrooms or even tomatoes and the food looked all dried up even though we got there an hour before it was meant to finish. Apart from this we enjoyed our stay. November 4, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Access Do not attempt to arrive at the hotel during peak shopping hours. Access to the hotel is via queue for shopping car park! Poor signage to the hotel. The hotel also shares the same car park so finding a convenient space, or any space may be difficult at peak times. No door sign to indicate that you would like your room made up. We were out until 1.30 and the room had still not been serviced. In a different location this hotel would be very good. Apart from domestic staff, generally the staff were very polite, friendly and efficient. November 4, 2012

Parking is in the Multi-Storey behind the Hotel and beware there are no allocated spaces but very good value at £2.00 per day(reception will validate your ticket). Double Room allocated was nice and clean although the bed was rather soft and lumpy.Also the towels were small and thin. The room faced the plaza side and we expected some late evening noise from the clubs which was ok once the window was closed. Noise disturbance from within the Hotel was another issue despite the Hotel having placed a placard by the fire doors at the entrance to the rooms corridor..QUIET PLEASE..Late returning guests took no notice of it and we had to put up with laughing and shouting up to 03:05 on the Friday and 01:55 on the Saturday.This is no fault of the Hotel but is regretably an ongoing problem we are noticing wherever we stay. Breakfast choice is limited but adequate to suit most peoples needs.Reception did advise us that it does get very busy at certain times and it maybe difficult to be seated straightaway. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Better than we expected We booked this at the last minute as it was cheaper to stay in Portsmouth and get a cheap day return to the Isle of Wight than to stay over on the Isle of Wight and have a 1 night return, so did not expect too much. We were very pleasantly surprised. The room was very nice and very clean with a shower en-suite and very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly, even pointing out the discounts that the restaurants etc were offering to Holiday Inn guests. Breakfast was fine - scrambled egg could be improved on as very powdery but plenty of choice. Liked it so much that we will probably use this option again. October 17, 2012

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Stay My daughter and I stayed for 1 night in October. The situation of the hotel is fabulous for exploring Portsmouth as it is on Gunwharf Quay, a fabulous shopping centre. It is also extremely close to Portsmouth Harbour railway station which is one of the reasons we chose it as we were arriving by train. The hotel itself was efficiently run and the staff were extremely friendly. The room itself was a twin room with unfortunately a view of the back of the carpark but obviously these rooms have to be used. The only downside of the room was a massive burn mark on the carpet, obviously by a dropped iron, in the centre of the carpet as you walked into the room. The beds were clean and comfortable and the bathroom was cleaned to a high standard. The breakfast was enjoyable with plenty of choice although the layout of the buffet meant there was a lot of pushing and shoving from people trying to get what they wanted whilst others were queuing for the hot selections. Altogether it was a pleasant stay and we would definately return. October 13, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and comfortable We made our second visit to this hotel recently as it has such a fantastic location. The hotel is directly next to all the shops and restaurants. Very clean with comfortable bedrooms although there are no little extras. The bar area is small but I think ideal for a quick drink before bed. Our only criticism would be the breakfast. The hotel should focus on either a good Continental breakfast or a traditional English,they attempt to do both and the English cooked breakfast was very poor. Our advice would be to stay at this hotel, have cornflakes in the morning and then go to one of the local restaurants for a nice brunch! October 13, 2012
