Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice room, tasty breakfast I stayed at this hotel for a work meeting. I typically try and stay at Holiday Inn Expresses because I know what I'm getting. A nice room, good breakfast and a relaxing stay. The only downer to these hotels is the fitness centre is pretty limited. I understand that it will never be a full gym or anything, but a little more options would be nice. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay. June 16, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Unauthorized change of booking When we arrived at the Hotel, we were informed by the front desk that we were given an upgrade. For me an upgrade means, a better room. I asked why and was informed that somebody had put a special request for. I thought May be because I was using Holiday inn for the past 2 weeks at different place is US. We were 3 adults and had requested 2 queens as our reservation. Surprisingly, when we went to the room it was a king bed and a sofa. Either we have sleep like sardines or one us has to sleep on a sofa. It was real disgrace to have given an upgrade like this. Then I had to go back to front desk and ask for a change of room as per the original booking which she did with a lot consternation Why people book rooms in advance is for have peace of mind and convenience of knowing what you are getting into. It seems that the Hotel was quite full and the girl at the front desk was trying to do some smart changes to make her look good for the management June 4, 2014

There is always a great variety to choose from. And finally everyone there from front staff to breakfast staff treated me like I was family. I certainly will be back. The hotel was spotless and the staff even help me take my third piece of luggage up to my room. The room was very quite and the bed was just great. I always try to stay here when I am in Saskatoon. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice place but don't rely on the Internet. A very nice looking place with a very nice, knowledgeable and friendly staff. But the internet was the worst that I have ever experienced at any Holiday Inn. I had to use my phone as a mobile hotspot and absorb the data charges from my carrier. Also the bathroom was disgusting as sections of the floor was dirty and a private hair from a previous guest was under the toilet seat. April 27, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by room needs update hmm I stayed in room 401, it needs to be redone. Wallpaper is coming off in the wash room and in some other places. The sliding door that separates the two rooms looks like it has not been cleaned for a while. The worst part: curtains with almost through holes in them, letting in too much light. I thought I was getting a nice room, but I was a bit disappointed. April 25, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Hassle This is the second time in just over a month that we utilized your facility. I operate a Chrysler dealership and have to send technicians to Saskatoon for training. Your facility is in close proximity to siast and we had planned on utilizing it until the other night. My employee had a class scheduled for Monday the 14th, he drove up on Sunday with my company credit card and had some issues getting a room. This is the same employee and the same credit card that we used on March 13th to book a room. I am very disappointed with the way this was handled. Kevin White April 17, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not satisfied with my stay I was disappointed in my last stay at this hotel. I had stayed here on numerous occasions in the past but have now booked into a different chain for my visit to Saskatoon next week. I complained at the front desk about the cleanliness (smell) of the bathroom, the lack of water pressure when the faucet was turned to the hot water setting and the request I had made for my suite to be located on the north side of the building away from the railway tracks. It wasn't until the next day that I was told that there are no suites on the north side, only on the railway side. I and my colleague in another room were kept up for several hours while a train switched in the area. There were also several very noisy people coming and going at 1am and 3am. I was disappointed that when I went to the breakfast 10 minutes before closing that they had already removed all plates even though there was still a couple of items left in the warming trays. I realize I was late but thought that since there were still 2 or 3 employees in the area performing clean up, they could have left the paper plates there for a couple of us that had just arrived. I was not satisfied with my stay. I have put up with the lack of restaurant and rough area of town this hotel is located in but have decided to move my monthly visit to Saskatoon to another hotel. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad from the start I booked a king room online but on arrival the tv and phones didn't work when they couldn't fix it they only had a queen room to move me to. When I went to the room I found I was in a handicap room. I was told no other room was available. The next day I was told I would have to wait around to see if a room came available. Since I had to spend the day at the hospital with my mother I said I would stay in that room as I had other things to worry about. The $30 dollar reduction in price did little to correct the no tub and broken toilet seat that they never did fix. Parking was a nightmare as alot of us had to park on the street. I have stayed there many times before but this time it was a nightmare so I will not be staying there again. February 21, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Have stayed at better Very disappointed as GOLD ELITE MEMBER. Checked in later than normal 9:00pm'ish. Was put in handicap/disabled assisted room. So did work colleauge. NOT SURE WHY??? Asked for any upgrade? NO. OK, parking lot was not even half full, hotel seemed very quiet. Just needed the bed to sleep and place to work so put up with awkward bathroom set up. Have stayed at similar HI/HIE and was treated much better. Next morning asked if hotel was very busy and full capacity, just to test, and to my anticipated disappointment, the answer was NO, it was a slower than normal night of occupancy. My work colleauge and I were very perplexed as to why we both received these rooms and not normal rooms. I will not stay here again, unless as a last option the next time. Otherwise, overall hotel was what you would expect from a HIE. FYI, the hotel is right beside train tracks and traffic roads if you are sensitive to being awaken by noise (mostly early in the morning). December 21, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by wait time on check in counter Stayed at this property at few times now always find staff of the hotel was really good when check in to the hotel they process everything quickly and efficiently but this time i have to wait because as soon as i got to the desk the front desk trainee representative picks up the phone and was on the phone for at least 15-20 minutes. Which i didn't feel right as i was suppose to get priority for handling check in over the phone customer asking for rates and packages. This is something management of the hotel have to look in and trained their people on it that how to handle priorities when they are working alone or by them self. Please also upgrade your rooms and amenities at this location as they are really old and they need replacement now. Bed was not comfortable at all have hard time sleeping on it and cleanliness of the room was also not good. there was a bad smell in the room i have to go out and buy a freshener in order to sleep in the room. It is the only place I stay when in town. But know you need to call in advance as it is often sold out. That is what happens when a place is great. Had to switch rooms because tv not functioning properly and no staff member seemed to have the expertise to straighten out the problem. During the switch met another customer in the hall who was in the process of switching as well due to a flush not working so that starts to make you wonder what is going on. December 4, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great experience great location in the city and the front desk is always very helpful.. they gave me a late check-out without any hesitation.. it was nice they did that,usually its so difficult to get an and a half late check-out in so many hotels... wonderful breakfast including hot fresh pancakes... lovely pool and hot tub as well. very good for family with children.. the cable tv was not up to the mark,i love comedy channel and that was not available.. but that's not such a bad thing... Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Elevator, disabled parking We've stayed three separate times in the last three months. Every time, you really don't want to get in the far elevator because you're really not sure you're going to get up or down. Hasn't been fixed for three months. Almost scary. The last time, we got back later in the evening to find the two disabled parking stalls full. One didn't have a disabled card and when my husband asked if the staff ever checked this out, one of the front desk persons said it was her car.....doesn't help when you've already had to park a long ways away....shouldn't the company provide their staff with their own parking? Another thing, the hotel van is ALWAYS parked in the way in the check in drive through area - you would think if it was needed that the staff could go and get it, as that area is totally blocked if another vehicle is checking in also VERY expensive for what you get.
