This is a excellent hotel for money. It is simple but very clean and well maintained hotel. The staff are very friendly and provide excellent service. Taxi is not easy to get in the front of the hotel. But the staff will help you to call a taxi for you or provide helpful guideline for other alternative transportation such as subway or you can walk 5 minutes to access a taxi more easier.

Nice and efficient room, outstanding bed and bedding. Breakfast adequate but not great. The location can be a bit of a challenge to get taxis.

It provided clean room, good environment, free internet, self -laundry service and reasonable price. Only Breakfast is no too much choice.

Hotel room is great but the room was stuffy as they only on the heater function. I have to keep the window open so that i can get some cool air into the room. Location is ok, near to train station Longde Rd (Line 11), it is about 5 - 7mins walk from the hotel. Difficult to get taxi as the hotel was located in the recidential area, very peaceful and quite. For me despite difficult to get a taxi, i am quiet happy with this hotel. No many taxi knows this hotel, i learnt and tell them " i am going to Guangfu Xi Lu, Wuning Qiao Xia (underneath the Wuning Bridge)".
I will come back to this hotel again for my next visit to Shanghai.

This hotel is comfortable. The breakfast is customary Chinese fare with some Western food. The staff speaks minimal English, but are very pleasant. The location is not in the best location for taxi service. Taxis are available to/from the airport....but if you are looking to taxi in the city, this would not be a great location. The walk is substantial to the main road. Most taxi drivers, even when given instructions in Chinese, did not understand the location of the hotel.

Buen hotel, a 5min andando de la parada de metro.
El desayuno mejorable, se repite apenas hay platos nuevos, al de dos dias se van repitiendo casi la totalidad de platos.
No tiene minibar, importantisimo para dias de mucho calor.

Holiday Inn Express Shanghai Putuo is in a lovely area of Shanghai. We enjoyed a riverview room and the quiet atmosphere. There is a lovely river walk not far from the hotel. The bed and pillows were so comfy! Towels were soft and BIG and the shower quite nice. Shanghai Putuo only serves a Chinese breakfast so you might want to consider other options. The price value of this room is EXCELLENT! ! ! This hotel is just a few minutes walk from the subway and also from a nice shopping area.

Have been frequently staying in this hotel since March 2012 due to my work requirements. Overall I am satisfied with the hotel however, they need to change their pillows and bedsheets as I felt their pillow were rather flat and not an actual pillow to sleep on. It made my neck rather stiff in the mornings. As for the bedsheets, although it is clean but the material made it feel like sandpaper that scratches against your skin while moving around.
What I was not too happy about was that I would expect when staying in a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor that it would be entirely smoke free. Unfortunately, that is not always the case as you can get visitors that actually smoke in their room which, unfortunately, does spread over to the other rooms. And as being a Priority Club Platinum member and a regular customer that stays for more than 2 weeks at a time (overall for 2012, I have spent a total of 100+ nights at this hotel), I felt there's not enough recognition not only for the amount of time spent but also for the overall cost that I have paid.
