Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor reception after a long journey Arrived after a long flight to face an enormous queue at reception decided to go to the bar until the queue eased. Told at the bar I couldn't buy a drink until I had registered. Took about 25 minutes to register. Went to the bar to get a drink told that the bar was now closed. Wasn't amused November 4, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great value for money, perfect for early flight We stayed in a family room and took advantage of a 21 day advance booking offer which meant we got a really good deal. Check-in was very smooth and reception staff were friendly and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable. We ate dinner at the hotel and that was probably the only slightly negative part of our stay as some items on the menu were not available to order. Food was OK, although some salad or other veggies on the plate would have been appreciated. As we had a very early start in the morning, we grabbed the light breakfast available at 4 am and were at the airport checking in by 4.45. All in all, great place to stay if you have an early morning flight, are travelling with kids and can book in advance. November 4, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dining Whilst the staff at the bar , the choice and quality of the food was excellent waiting in a Que to order leaves a lot to be desired.The hotel is international with people from a variety of country's ,standing waiting for service when the courtesy bus drops ten to twenty people maybe does not leave a good impression. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Incompetent staff Check in took 30 mins, the reception staff appeared to be clueless how holiday Inn procedures work, the bar was the same. No car parking spaces, I had to park in a disabled spot then told I could not park there, other than parking the car off site I had no choice. Absolute worst experience I've ever had with hinn express. I will never stay at stansted again. November 1, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Value for money We checked in at midnight and the reception service was quick and efficient. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. There was a good choice at breakfast but it would have been nice to have a veggie option for the cooked breakfast. The restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. It would have been useful to have a late or 24 hour room service as at midnight there was nowhere to get anything to eat or drink other than the garage and obviously flight times don't fit in with usual opening hours. Even so, my partner and I thought that it was excellent value for money, especially compared to London hotel prices. We would definitely stay again. October 27, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by stansted, not the best way to stat your holiday trendy nickname requiredy, room heating did not work, toilet did not work and child's bed not made up for us. Bus transfer parked outside room with engine running from very early hours of the morning meaning sleep was impossible. Staff not helpful in the slightest, would we stay again, only if there were no other rooms or indeed stables or lonely cattle sheds nearby. And completing this form is time consuming and.the rules are too.rigid. October 26, 2013

Though being close to airport not affected by any noise. Good shuttle service to/from airport . Booked hotel by phone and helpful pleasant individual handled matters proficiently. The room was very clean and comfortable, the staff were very helpful, friendly and polite . breakfast was disappointing but we did eat at 5.30a/m so it was a bonus to actually have food offered to you at that time. overall, it was a pleasant and convenient stay and I would definitely stay here again. thankyou October 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent stay I used the holiday inn to allow me to get an early morning flight at the beginning of my holiday and what a fantastic start to my trip it was. Friendly staff, comfortable accommodation, good food, quick and easy check in and a lush comfy bed!!! The bar was a little pricey but guess that is to be expected in such a prime location and I can't comment on the breakfast choices as at 4am I was not in the mood to try out the breakfast available. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Beds need an upgrade This hotel has been by far the worst Holiday Inn I've stayed in. The rooms were very small and beds were horrible, not comfortable at all. The breakfast was ok but didn't have variety (sausages, beans, eggs were not appetizing). Some of the staff were nice...the restaurant food was good but very expensive. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. October 21, 2013

However this visit, the bed was not as comfortable as previous beds we have slept on. The mattrass seems to have reached the point where it needs to be replaced. Apart from this problem, which is important, when tired after a long flight, the hotel was comfortable. October 21, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay- pity it was so short After a mixed experience staying in Central London, this hotel was a welcome change. No problems with checking in, despite it being midnight. Very clean room, comfortable bed etc. Had to leave at stupid o'clock (04:45) the next morning, but there was cereal and coffee available even that early. Very handy getting to/from the airport- my only criticism would be that the published shuttle times were wrong. They ran every 15 mins though, so no problem. October 17, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Mislead about Parking The only reason I booked this hotel was because I wanted the parking close to the airport. I was told by the central reservation that I would be able to park in the hotel car park. In the reservation confirmation it also mentioned parking at the hotel. When I arrived and parked in the hotel car park, which had plenty of spaces, I was told I had to re-park in the Mid-stay car park. I was tired, it was cold wet and windy and it took me at least a further 15-20 minutes, 10 of which were spent waiting in a cold windy shelter with no seats. I will not be using this hotel again. In addition the chicken dish I ordered was inedible. It was vastly overcooked and tasteless. You did not come up to my expectations and I will not use you for this type of stay in future. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Need to change the bed! What a disapointment, we booked into hotel ready for an early flight for my husband. The first thing that happened was we were charged £8 for overnight parking - not mentioned when we book. The food in the restaurant was good, although very expensive, £12.95 for a chicken burger was extortionate, especially when there were only a few chips. My dinner fo gammon steak was excellent, well cook, and lots of other bits and pieces. the room was clean but Oh boy! the bed was far too soft, we spent most of the night trying to untangle ourselves from each other! Might have been nice if we were young things but as pensioners we like our own bit of bed! At 3pm I got up and came home leaving my poor husband to try and get a few minutes sleep on the sofa bed in the room. Very disapointed, will not be using Holiday Inn Express again. October 9, 2013

The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was clean and the beds very comfortable. Our early check out the next morning was very quick and easy. Booked in advance to get the best rate and prepaid, arrived separately from my husband to find he had been charged again for the room and that they hadn't sorted our pre-booked parking space. From the minute you walk in the door you are treated like a friend and not a customer. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just one small niggle - but amends made! We arrived after midnight (flight delayed) but staff at check in were friendly. Queried fact that I had to take a ticket for the car park, told it would be charged on check-out. Later research shows this is the norm for the area. Room bedding and bathroom exceptionally clean and bed was comfortable. Also did not hear any aircraft in the night or early morning. Tried to set alarm call on phone following the clear instructions but couldn't get it to work. Phoned reception but no one answered. In morning extrememly impressed with breakfast - all you could possibly want at no extra cost! At check out mentioned fact I couldn't set alarm and was told no charge for car park. September 30, 2013
