Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Minna Good budget hotel
This is a good place to stay if you have an early morning flight from Stansted. There is a regular bus service from the hotel to the airport. I stayed in a ground floor room which can't be faulted, it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were all friendly. We didn't have the full breakfast as we left so early but there was a decent enough selection on offer. For evening meals, the selection is bog standard pub grub, not that great. But overall, a pleasant experience.

Pleasant hotel with useful shuttle to the airport. Friendly staff and clean accommodation. Park and stay facility is useful and quite good value.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by richark Good place to stay for an early flight
Easy to find and very close to Stansted airport for a fast "bed to airport check in" experience. The hotel was clean and tidy but seemed hectic at check in (Saturday 5.30pm). The reception staff were brilliant though and instantly recognised my Priority Club booking and also gave my son an Easter egg and a goody bag!! The room was standard Holiday Inn, smallish, old TV with a small bathroom that needed updating.
The hotel facilities downstairs was ok but the dinning area wasn't clear on how / where to order food and there was a large party staying in the hotel and I felt we were 2nd best to them. The food was ok but a little expensive. Parking was free and there were luggage trollies in reception which was a huge help.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Therchip A bit congested at check in as only 2 staff and long queues but overall good.
Clean, comfortable room with TV and wake up phone options. A very good nights sleep before a busy day of travelling. As we had to be up by 4 am I was worried about noise but all was silent. I would recommend this as an very good hotel to stay in before travelling. Only thing to be aware of is that on check in we were told that hot breakfast from 4 am until 10 am. At 4.30 am we went down for breakfast is was just toast and cereal. Otherwise a good stay.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 57helen555 Nice room shame about the food
We only stayed because of the weather in the Midlands and we didn't want to get stuck and miss our flight the next day. The room was cold and took ages to get to the required temperature.
The alcohol prices were steep and unfortunately the food was very disappointing, in fact we sent both our meals back. The hand carved ham was plastic ham sliced on a machine and the burger was not 8 oz more like 4 oz and so over-cooked it was like shoe leather. The staff were excellent and did listen to what the problem was, we were offered replacement meals, which in the end were OK.
The chef sent messages back via the waitress rather than come out and talk to us directly.
The total cost of food & drink was £75 for 2 people, definately overpriced.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by david280 Quality of Room
The room is well furnished with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in in a hotel. Service was great and staff very helpful.
The only poor bit was that I had to park my car in the mid stay car park and it took almost an hour from the time I arrived back at Stansted until I got to the car. The mid term bus does a panoramic tour!

Its the quiet that surprised me of a hotel right next to the runway, so testament to the careful attention to details in its construcution. The staff I met were all well dressed , helpful and efficient. The coffee delicious- I had 2 cups with my breakfast.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Malheureuse Hotel let down by the food and drink experience
The room and public areas scored highly for cleanliness and maintenance but the food was indifferent at best and miserable at worst. For evening meals we tried mixed grill ham and egg. The soup was the highlight ! Chips were soggy, ham seemed to be of the slimy package variety, the meat in the mixed grill was not of a good quality or it was the cooking.
Breakfast was unbelievably bad. Continental breakfast had no cold meat and just one choice of cheese. The croissants were uncooked in the middle. Baked beans were at least warm. Scrambled eggs were just not acceptable, sausages tasted mainly of bread and there were no mushrooms, tomatoes or bacon.
The impression was someone in charge of food and beverage who had put the price of drinks extremely high as the hotel audience was captive and then combined this with cheese paring economy in the kitchen.
Sadly my visit last year was no better. Next time Premier where the bus driver assured me that the breakfast was better. Nuffi said?

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by C00psy A good overnight stay
My daughter and I stayed here overnight. The room was comfortable although my daughter found it a little too warm. We had to leave early or a flight but there was some yoghurt and toast . The food in the evening was a tad expensive £12 for a pizza which was quite small. On the whole it was a good overnight stay for the airport.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by stefano87 Clean and comfortable. A bit cold at the arrival
Really good place. For the same price you can't expect anything like that in London and surroundings.
Of course is about 2 hours from the city center.
The one problem was I found the room cold. I had to heat it up. Luckily it only took half an our.
Really clean and comfortable place. Strongly recommended.

As a Priority Club member I usually get introduced as such, in this hotel nothing and when I mentioned it, there was no interest, the person checking us in had very command of English and we had to keep asking her to repeat the questions which was annoying for us and frustrating for her.
The bed was terrible, no life left in it and moved around on castors as soon as you sat down.
The food in the restaurant was poor, and not worth the money.
Overall a very bad experience, if I had not used many other Express hotels then it would make me think again about this chain of hotels

Breakfast a bit basic but free so cannot really complain.
Would use again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gina1939 the welcome for two tired old ladies
We had had a terrible time with a "hotel" in Germany, pre-booked for B and B and airport shuttle for 6.30 am flight. Arrived to a frosty reception, and to be told no shuttle or taxi available!! It was advertised as Call Us, Free Pick up and Shuttle".
We were so astonished by the frosty unpleasant woman on reception that we walked out, even though had paid in advance, and spent the night in Frankfurt Hahn airport. As we are two sisters aged 74 and 76 this was not ideal....
However, we survived and at 9 am arrived at Stansted Holiday Inn. We were greeted with such warmth, as returning customers, and allowed into our room at 11 am instead of 2 pm. Irene on reception deserves special mention, as was so so kind and helpful. It felt like coming home and our stress and worries fell way as we collapsed onto our comfortable beds.
Three cheers for Holiday Inn Stansted, never was a welcome more needed and received. Will never stay anywhere else.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Traveler556644332211 ... was better before ...
I entered the room which had 15,5°C at the beginning and so I started the air conditioner on heating mode. It took from 9pm to 11pm to reach 20°C. After this I had to turn off otherewise I would not be able to sleep.
The room was dirty, on the carpet and in the bath. There where spots which are easily cleanable, same with all the hairs.
I can just say the hotel was cleaner and in better condition before and you can not compare with another Holiday Inn Express like in Silvertown way London ,.... they are much cleaner.
Sorry but this is the truth.

My wife and myself had booked a stay for 1 night due to a late flight arrivel, arrived just before midnight took 20 minutes to check in after a long day of travelling this is to much, told we had been upgraded by reception but the room was the same as we had booked. Went back to reception to see if we could get some complementry bottled water and was told they did not give any complementrys to customers even as i am a platinum ambassador status anyway the manager did give me 1 bottle of water for us to share 330ml hope he never gets thirsty. i think the managers need to learn what the holiday inn brand is all about they do not seem to reconise the priorty club membership at all. will not be staying here again after this experience.

I have use this hotel a number of times ovr the past few years. In the past I woulsay it was OK but not great. I hv to say on my lst sty it seemed to have undergone a servic makeover. I am Gold priority member. This was acknowledge with a goody bag of Chocolate (always likely to get my vote) and water. The service was much better than on previous stays. However the biggest improvemet was the menu. My colleague and I both had curries which were very tasty.

Gammav Tired Room in need of a refurb
Room on ground floor was tired, cold and in need of a refurb.
Sofa bed was badly stained with food and drink spills?
A childs cot had been left in the room from the previous guest taking up much of the floor space.
Bathroom not particularly clean with black mould around shower base and shampoo holders...shower waste was blocked so the tray filled with dirty water very quickly and was in danger of overflowing onto the bathroom floor.
Mattress was uncomfortable budget type and only two thin pillows were provided.
Had I not arrived very late and only required the room for a few hours prior to an early flight I would have requested a different room or moved to another hotel.
Proximity to the airport and parking was the only redeeming feature of this stay.

What a pleasurable experience staying with you was! We booked the Stay and Park package, which was great value, and everything went like clockwork. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the room was very comfortable and had all we needed and the restaurant was very good too serving a beautiful dinner and a fabulous breakfast. We would stay again if flying from Stansted and have already recommended it to friends and family.

My husband and I stayed with our three young children prior to a holiday flight. From the outset of online booking, I was dealt with wonderfully and everyone was so helpful.
On arrival at the hotel, check-in was clear and concise and all reservations confirmed. Car parking was included in our deal and was smoothly run.
The room was clean and comfortable with everything needed for a short stay.
Breakfast was fantastic, the choices were many and varied and very welcome prior to a flight.
Overall a great stay, value for money and we will definitely stay again.

I stay in Holiday Inns or Express's almost every week and often more than once a week. Stansted has some of the friendliest and most helpful staff. The lady who was serving the meals in the bar and was also still on at breakfast worked at 100 miles and hour with a huge smile on her face and still found enough time to talk to guests and check that they were OK.
Excellent customer relations.

I am a Gold Priority Club member, this was not mentioned at check-in and I received no benefit for being a member (even though my number was on the registration form).
My room was very clean, but, had constant traffic noise from the A120, there are vents in the top of the windows that cannot be closed.
The TV picture is too wide for the screen so you don't get to see all the picture - great when watching football etc...
No WIFI in bedrooms, you have to plug your laptop into a cable at the back of the TV, so you have to sit at the desk and not able to relax on the bed.
I went for breakfast at 7am, it was pretty poor and looked like it had been trashed - clearly all the early risers catching flights had been in.
I wasn't paying for the room (company did), else I would have complained.
